  • Thanks for the encouragement, Dana  Ashley - I feel you there. Every weekend I've come home from work to find a ton of baked goods lying around. I was not doing to badly until one day there was baklava and then all my self control vanished. Did my workout today! I'm restarting Stronglifts with some things from…
  • Quick check in just t actually post something for once. I feel like the whole last month or two have just been awful - not eating very well, skipping workouts, binging etc. I really want to get back into a good routine but every week I start out well, derail a bit halfway through, and instead of just getting back on the…
  • Noblank - welcome! And I think you're among similar-minded people here :) Ashley - nice work! Kiwi - QFT. I took last week off running because I was getting frustrated at being stuck. Now I want to go back two weeks and build up again but I woke up with awful cramps... bleh.
  • Dana - Congratulations! I'm the same - I need to get over the mindset that I'm over the hump and can take a break after a loss. Kiwi - it's exciting that you're thinking about maintenance :) good luck! The running program is going well - still working on getting the 22 minute run, but the last couple weeks I keep getting…
  • Congratulations Kiwi! Dana - guessing is the worst :/ Ashley - new toys are awesome  Managed to keep on top of things today and went for a run in a break in the rain. This week has been up and down but hopefully I can get back on track next week. I seriously haven't had a solid week in ages. Luckily weight is…
  • Yeah I meant to check in yesterday but I couldn't find my groups anywhere  Managed to actually stay on goal and get a run in yesterday... and then woke up stuffed up and achey today. Need to do my lifting anyways but I just want to stay in bed
  • I meant to get back on the wagon today but then I had leftover pie for breakfast and haven't improved from there.... sigh. Seriously, TOMORROW I need to get on this. gah. Dana - that's been me the last couple weeks too
  • Hi amgreenwell - welcome back :) Liz - I'm with Kiwi on this one. Maybe start by going to maintenance for a few weeks, then gradually up calories? I've heard +250 -+500 is a good level for women since you'll probably put on and equal amount of fat and muscle as you gain. Mind you, I haven't gotten to that stage yet so I'm…
  • Sorry to hear that Gen, that sucks :( Called in to work this afternoon so I missed my first day of Strong Curves... also now working tomorrow all day, so I'm trying to decide whether to try and get up early (in the dark! and cold!) to run or do it after 8 hours on my feet. Going to try hard not to skip it... I hate being…
  • Mmm sounds like good eating, Kiwi :) I made brownies but I hid them in the freezer - hopefully that will keep me away from them.
  • Congratulations Kiwi! :drinker: Ashley - could be you're just a little uneven? I know one of my shoulders is slightly higher than the other so my arms are at different angles even though they're evenly spaced on the bar. Liz - I've been doing Stronglifts since May and I've seen a ton of improvement. It's pretty…
  • Hi Liz! Welcome to the group! You've done so well so far :) Good luck on your strength training - you'll love it Dana - nice work getting a workout in! Ashley - glad to hear you're feeling better :) Barbell - so exciting! Back to tracking today. Doing pretty well - actually I have some extra calories :)
  • That's definitely happening right now... it's weird because usually i eat very well, not just out of obligation to be healthy but because I genuinely like vegetables and rounded meals! But the last couple days I've just been craving sweets and snacks. I think I'm over it now though - I feel pretty gross.
  • Good luck Ashley... those are the worst :/ So eating without logging could be going better. I mean, yes, I don't really have a kitchen at the moment, but that doesn't mean I should eat white chocolate baking squares out of the box for lunch. Not that I would ever do such a thing. I guess I have a ways to go before my…
  • Congratulations Kiwi! That's huge! Dana - I so agree! Part of my problem right now is that our kitchen is getting painted, so a) it's hard to cook efficiently and b) I don't want to be doing my weirdo food scale thing while the painters are in there
  • Seems like we're all in the same kind of mood... I don't know why, but I've just been having loads of cravings lately. Yesterday for the first time in months I had that "I need sugar NOW, or I'm going to snap" feeling. I had a handful of chocolate chips but didn't go overboard. I haven't been weighing in regularly but I…
  • Nodnodnod :frown: A couple weeks ago I was thinking I would breeze through the last 8 pounds with ease, but for the last three weeks or so everything has felt like a massive challenge. I can't get up in the morning, I don't want to do any exercise... I hope this goes away soon and it gets easier again.
  • Ha! Yeah, I probably didn't need to specify which one is me
  • Ashley - me too :/ I know that the 3 extra pounds I saw on the scale today aren't permanent, but I hate waiting a week to see any progress
  • Finally back to checking in... I decided last workout to go to 3x5, even though I'm not really in huge numbers yet. I figure though, that if other respectable programs like Starting Strength have you at 3x5 from the beginning it won't hurt. Plus I'm really struggling on moving up the weights... we'll see. Squat 3x5 x85…
  • Kiwi - I hope your back heals up quickly! Good for you to keep out and about anyway :) Good day for me today - managed not to go over even though it's my rest day (and I never made up for missing my run, sigh)
  • Oh no, Kiwi! I hope you're not hurting too bad :( I didn't quite get a perfect record this week - I meant to make up for yesterday but it was raining this morning and I went out with friends after work, so I missed my run. Worth it though :)
  • Ate a little too much today but I mostly shoved the extra to tomorrow... shouldn't be over for the week if I can keep on track one more day. Also I need to make a point of checking in every day, I've been feeling lazy lately. And actually read the thread beyond skimming... in the meantime good luck everyone :)
  • Haven't felt much like checking in the last few days... made cookies yesterday and I ate about a dozen, so I'm taking the lot to work tomorrow to get rid of them.
  • Kiwi, you have so much more willpower than I do - one hint of the sniffles and I'm heading for the ice cream. Dana, good luck! I'm in the same boat - never did catch up for last weekend, then went up to maintenance today. I'm just writing this week off as uneven, although not a disaster, and starting fresh tomorrow.
  • Hi! Just want to say thanks in advance to SideSteel and Sara for taking the time to do this :flowerforyou: Female, 23, 5'2 and 127.5 pounds. I hope these photos are ok - haven't really learned how to flex yet! [Pics deleted as requested] Mods, would it possible to delete the photos after? I'm not sure how comfortable I am…
  • 20 MINUTES! 20 MINUTES! Ahem. Sorry :) I'm just so excited that I made it 20 minutes running for the first time! Yesterday was good, ended up a little under goal as the power was out when I got home from work at 10 pm and all I could think to make was a peanut butter sandwich. Kiwi - sorry to hear you're still not feeling…
  • Gen - that dinner sounds awesome :) Glad your son is enjoying school Kiwi - Hope you're feeling better soon! Aaand right back up again, but still .1 under 128 so I guess I'm still ahead. I knew that such a big loss was probably not going to stick right away so I'm not too disappointed. Also, QFT
  • Gen - Looking great! I've been bad about not weighing in consistently, but today when I got on the scale I was down two whole pounds to 126.5. I have no idea how that happened because I've been snacking and craving all this week, but I hope it's a trend and not a fluke :)
