  • I bought six pairs of jeans from someone locally and now they are too big. I didn't feel like a whale when I rode on the watertubes at the waterpark with my son. My son has a camera now, and I'm not horrified at the pictures he takes of me. That's the biggest NSV yet.
  • Yep - best beer ever. And I recently discovered Bartenura's Moscato, which is hands down the best white wine I have ever had in my entire life. The bad part is that it's so good, you find yourself wanting more!
  • Yeah..... no. I had a pouch even as a kid. Wasn't from drinking. Now I drink wine. I'm losing said pouch. It's about body fat percentage, not alcohol - slender doesn't equal fit, and even when I was 16 and 98 pounds at 5'4'' I had a pouch.
  • Nope. Not at all. In fact, oddly enough, I see bigger losses after a week where more of my calories are from drinks, be it mocha, iced coffee, wine, or Summer Shandy. I think it detoxes my body. Okay, not really, I'm totally joking - just in case someone gets all worked up, I'll make that clear. But my biggest struggle has…
  • I add fat free half and half and sweetened condensed milk. It does have vitamins. So this response is invalid for many people. And for the record, I am experiencing no failure whatsoever. It's not fair to state that because someone else does things in a way you don't do they are wrong and will never succeed.
  • Black coffee = like 5 calories a cup. My iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk (bliss in a glass) = 135 calories/16 oz glass. A mocha, yes.... I can understand not wanting to waste calories on that - that's why my favorite (Caribou Coffee Campfire, 430 calories for a medium even with skim and no whip) is a rare treat.…
  • I often drink coffee and nothing else. Without the coffee, my reply to this thread may have been more aggressive and rude. With it, I will tell you that I have successfully met my goals so far, so I do not agree with the whole "You have to eat or you will stay fat/be weak/not build muscle/suck in general/not be as good as…
  • Don't worry. They may *seem* like creepers, but the ones that like to pretend they are creepers are never actually the creepers. It's the creepers that pretend to not be creepers that you have to worry about. Got it?
  • Yep. Saw the Settle Down vid and I was like "Seriously? That's kind of not fair. I hope I look hotter every year for a while....:"
  • Oddly enough I completely disagree. I think he's much better now.
  • <Is all for getting the goods in shape. That's the plan and I'm sticking to it! I love that answer. ETA: OP, I think I'm like you.... I see nice thin, not-curvy bodies and that's what I wish I had. So part of it is just learning to flaunt what we have and work with it. It's hard, but totally doable.
  • I am the type of person that often passionately throws herself into things. The trouble with that is that I passionately hate it occasionally. And this has been true of many things - my music performance career, my current sales career, anything that I want to do well (which is really "be perfect at") seems to be subjected…
  • You. Are. INCREDIBLE! So inspiring! I know so many of us on here are so different, but portion control was (and is) my biggest battle - sure, I eat some crummy foods, but it's okay if I eat crummy foods - just not as much of them! I wish you lots of luck and even more support in this journey. It's not easy - I think many…
  • Sad. I've done that. Only because I had a breast reduction years ago and I was so anxious to get out of the hospital I had them release me about an hour after I came to, insisted that we go to the grocery store for cranberry juice, and then managed to throw up all the cranberry juice I drank at the hospital before I could…
  • We are staying at a resort/waterpark right now. There is an outdoor pool, surrounded by clear plexi-glass. A woman was lying FLAT on a lawn chair with her legs spread open in a little bikini - crotch facing the glass. It was not good. I would never aim my crotch at the general public in public. (Also, on a funny note, my…
  • Fun Dip. A packet is 50 calories, and while it may just be dyed sugar, I love it so so so so very much. Let the flaming begin.
  • Ha! So it's all selfish, is it....? I kind of also suspect it's that I eat less food now, which means more for him. I'm really losing here.
  • I would WANT to eat the whole thing, attempt to eat the whole thing, and get pissed when I couldn't eat more than a slice. Such is the story of my life anymore. And I suppose it's a good thing, but damn I miss eating too much food sometimes. You know, like when it's REALLY GOOD.
  • And cave men? There has been quite a variety through all of time. I do agree that overall we are heavier than we were, but there are also areas and times where being "fat" was a symbol of wealth. I'm not saying it's okay, but people love to claim that people are so different now than in the "old days", but it's really not…
  • If you think our culture currently has made fat normal, you need to look at some historical paintings/drawings/photographs. Sorry, I just found that slightly irritating. I hate when people act like this is a "new" thing that people are "heavy". It's not new. To the OP, you need to do what you want to do - I have totally…
  • For some of us, the personality makes or breaks the physical attractiveness nearly completely. I don't care what you look like, if you don't have a sparkle in your eye when you laugh, make me laugh, or seem smart to me, there is no hope whatsoever. And while it sounds like crap, it's so very true for me. I've dated guys of…
  • I think we all have our battles. I got fat making every meal a "competition" with my husband, where I had to eat as much as he did to "have my fair share". It's still really hard.... I see him sit down with twice as much dinner as me (his calorie goal is about double, though) and sometimes I feel slightly bitter if it's an…
  • Love it. You can even make 30 Day Shred into weight lifting. You're gonna have awesome results as you keep upping your weights - where if you use the same weight week after week, month after month, you're not really lifting, but working on endurance.
  • Today it was "See that shadow? Wouldn't you look even better without that mommy tummy pouch? Workitoffworkitoffworkitoff go go go go go go go go oh... a bird!" :ohwell: I was literally yelling at myself today. I'm sure people outside at their houses were wondering about the obviously mentally unstable person riding a bike…
  • I haven't had this problem too much yet, but I do have (gel) bike shorts - and I haven't done 70 miles in a weekend yet, you rockstar! Anyway, I'm finding that bike shorts seem to not be something you can just run out and pick up easily and be happy with anyway. I live in a rural area, and I picked some up when I happened…
  • If I went to the gym, it would be to work out. Because that's the type of girl I am. Besides, my experience has been that most of it is bs and nagging and lies. Like when you're about to do a bench press and some guy walks up and says "Aren't your boobs already big enough, you gotta build muscle to make them look bigger?"…
  • Mad props, girl! I'm mentally incapable of running.... I hate it. But I will bike my day away!
  • The thing about the photos hits home, too. I can honestly say that I was always horrified by photos of myself. Then my husband snapped my current pic the other day at the fair with my daughter, and I looked at this totally candid shot and was SO PROUD of myself. I'm still afraid of the camera, but I think the turning point…
  • I had my weight set at 170 - even when I was like 230. This last renewal I went in, and not only did I not weigh more, but I had to change it to 155 (the TRUTH!). It was so amazing. Now I'm 148, and wish I could renew it again!
  • I totally still do this. But we rarely buy crap.
