Was this like a year ago? If so I remember it well. Lol.

What is actually said: "You can eat what you want if it fits in your macros and calories for the day" What people see: "You can eat donuts, fries, burgers, pizza in mass quantities and still lose weight."
-
You didn't gain the weight in 10 days and you won't lose it in 10 days. Patience.

OP sounds relatively new to lifting; I would not recommend isolation lifts to someone new and really looking to start lifting.
-
Would you have ditched your job for the same reason? I'm all for getting adequate sleep, but there's a fine line between resting out of necessity and resting as an excuse.
-
I would be more concerned about your blood sugar from all the oranges.

Only do this if you want her to leave you. If you don't like what is put in front of you, make your own food. You are not a child.

Got a response, yes? Just like her comment did. Welcome to MFP.

Only on MFP do we call out the people responding to someone's asinine comment.

plain greek yogurt for sour cream is about as wild and crazy as I get.

But it's not though.

You aren't going to lose the same amount every week (i.e. the whole "weight loss isn't linear" thing you see here a lot). You lost a decent chunk already in 3 weeks. Be patient.

hurr and durr

Please remember to fall out of that tree.

I don't really like it, but current endurance goals require me to do it. I don't think it's ineffective, though. I just prefer lifting.
-
Are you hydrated enough? I often get stomach cramps after I run because I'm not adequately hydrated... It's really hard to say what the issue is or could be.
-
If you are counting your HRM calories burned toward your calorie goal, this is where you're going wrong. HRMs are not accurate for lifting. ETA: your diary is not public.

Ill, as in actual gastric distress (vomiting, diarrhea) or ill, as in sore?
-
None. It's nacho bidness.
-
Yes.
-
If you find yourself tired or sluggish, then yes, I would eat more calories. But first, I would make sure your intake is what you think it is and start weighing and measuring your food if you aren't already.
-
Are you losing?

Just when I thought this thread was going to fade to black...

Since you kind of already know the SL routine, I think you'll be okay. That first time can be intimidating, no doubt, but you already know what you're doing for the most part. Good luck!

I'm all for lifting weights, but some of the things in this post are flat out wrong. Body got used to running so you plateaued? No To get off plateau, start lifting? No HIIT is an amazing way to lose weight? Not exactly. Diet. It mostly comes down to diet. She can do all the workouts she wants; if her diet sucks, the scale…

+1 for Stronglifts. Books like Starting Strength and New Rules of Lifting are good resources too, even if you don't do the programs.
