The first part of your story sounded a lot like mine - the injury setbacks. It makes you appreciate when you were young when your body could bounce back from injuries in no time. Good luck on finding the rest of those abs. I'm sure you'll get there. I'd be happy to have just one! Peace!

From a random site, it says 1,450 calories for weight loss. The rest of the numbers below. Based on that height, weight (133 lbs), age of 21 and moderate excercise (3 times a week) Individual Weights: Hamwi Based Calculations: 112 pounds for a small frame, 125 pounds for a medium frame, and 137 pounds for a large frame.…

I found that it takes about 2 weeks for your stomach to shrink a bit or get used to smaller portions. Also, I found that if you eat a snack between meals (like apple, banana, fat-free yogourt) it lessens your hunger until the next meal. Then when you have your next meal, you don't have to eat as much to get rid of the…

Best tip is plan ahead for the week so you can get just what you need. Use the stuff that spoils first. Maybe plan on leftovers for the second night or just make smaller portions so you're not wasting stuff and throwing it out. Frozen veggies are definately the way to go. We grab the big bags at Costco. We just tried the…

I used to do cardio and weight training but ran into some back issues. A year later, my weight had crept back up a bit so I got back on MFP with a calorie deficit and now have a puppy that I walk 5 - 6 times a day. I'm not getting my heart rate up into the optimal range but hey, the weight is coming off fine still. I say…

Haven't drank in almost 7 years. Already had a lifetime's worth, I figure. Also haven't smoked in 1 month shy of 5 years. Potato chips are *my* heroin!

I've seen on more than one occasion now, bacon and apple pie (online recipes) . It sounds gross at first but when you think about it, it's the same ingredients as pork chops and applesauce - well, kind of... I would definitely give it a try if offered.

"Beef - Round, tip, lean only, cooked, roasted" Damn! Now I'm getting hungry again!

I learned it's not good to totally deprive yourself of some things you like. That way you won't have such strong cravings for them. Try and eat your food slowly and totally chew everything. When you wolf stuff down, it doesn't give you time to start feeling full so you tend to eat more. What I do is always try and save…

Welcome Angela Congratulations on the great results! I thought I would pass on some tips that helped me quit smoking. (I have been smoke-free for almost 4 years now). I used a free website called www.whyquit.com. Go there and download the E-book "Never take another puff". There is a ton of excellent information in it. It…

I thought you were going to say you could carry all your weeks groceries with one hand.

It's neutral. Too soon to tell. Just wait. Try and take your mind off of it (almost impossible I know). I had an interview at one place back (a couple decades ago). I didn't hear back so I took a different job a week or so later. The first place (better job by the way) called me back **5 months** later and offered me the…

I tried tread and elliptical. Also stationary bike. I'm an elliptical fan. Use it 100% for cardio.

I would take a break, get better and then resume. No point dragging things out. My view anyway. Get better soon.

Great job boss!

Welcome! Just make sure you give each of your muscle groups 48 hours to regenerate after working them out. An excellent site with tons of body building info is www.bodybuilding.com. I wouldn't go too heavy on the whole eggs since that is a lot of cholesterol in the yolks. Might be good to get yourself checked out for that…

Correct. Can't spot reduce. Trick is cardio and lots of it.

go to bodybuilding.com. You can pick a routine that will meet your goals (gaining solid muscle mass etc). It's a great site with lots of info. I went with the routine for "old guys" (over 40). Best of luck on your journey. P.S. start at this page: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbmaintrain.htm

Yeah that's right. It's kind of a one-size-fits-all way of doing it but a good starting point I found.
