  • Yes I do go to LTF!! I love LifeTime!!! Which one do you go to? Lets try to help each other do very well so we can win the challenge for our Clubs!!
  • This morning I weighed 178!!! Which I need to see those pounds starting to fall off. I keep plateauing at this stupid 178. I do not get up and workout this morning. But I will most Def workout tonight!! Goal is to burn at least 600 calories. I am about to eat some oatmeal, ick!!! :) Happy Weightloss!! Will check in later.
  • That actually sounds perfect!!! Tomorrow lets weigh in with our starting weights. Then we can make Friday our weigh in date!!
  • Thanks for wanting to join in!! I think weighing in on the same day would be great. I think starting to weigh in Tomorrow would be great. We just post our weight here and then go from there. I think it will also be helpful if we also list if we work out that day and anything that we found challenging so we can help support…
  • Good luck!! I am here if you need any motivation. This is a great first step. I have finally gotten into counting my calories and I think the fat will start to fall off.
  • This calculation Douniap doesn't seem to bad. I made up some numbers for how long a mile would take me and the possible Hr I would have. I came up with a 36 VO2 which is a little higher than my VO2 that was calculated at the gym in May. But I am retesting in the beginning of September. My VO2 was a lot lower than it should…
  • Kettlebells is the best workout ever!!! It is great for your core. Its a cast iron weight that has a cow bell handle. It is a great strength training exercise and I know that it is great for women. Here is a little to read about Kettlebells. The reason for the boost in kettlebell training it that it gets back to basic…
  • So today you inspired me to ask my trainer some questions to try to help you out better. So I asked him what on the HRM helps determine the calories you burn. It said its mostly the VO2 that determines the calories you burn. So the VO2 is what determines the rate in which you burn calories. He said that the Max HR is very…
  • I would say you can drop your VO2 to 22 or you can just leave it at 24 to see what you come up with when you do your test. My gym calls the test for the VO2 the calorie point. But you can ask if they do metabolic tests or any testing to help members determine their VO2 and cardio workout zones. There has to be a gym that…
  • I do have a trainer that works out with me on Sunday with Strength training. I just don't like lifting and I get freaked out and scared. I guess if I had a big guy Husband or BF that wanted to lift with me it would be a lot easier. I am just supposed to do at least 1.5 hours a week of strength training alone according to…
  • My goals are to work out 5 to 6 times a week. This week I worked out every day but Friday. I was going to work out Friday but my trainer told me that my body needs rest so I took that day off. I think that if you workout on the 7th day, either do something fun or very low impact. You do want to take time for your body to…
  • I think you can do it. You probably pushed to hard on your first go round. I know that it does get very frustrating and discouraging. I think it will help you a lot if you do water workouts. Running in the water is great for you because it is low impact. You can also if your gym offers it take water aerobics classes. Just…
  • ---- I think it is sort of hard to estimate your actual VO2 because all of these sites giving suggestions on how are not very accurate. You can't really go by your age because your body may be in different shape than is predicted for someone in your age bracket. When I did my test in February I was only in the 10% for my…
  • From what I have learned from my Gym tests and my trainer, your VO2 has a lot to do with how many calories you burn when you are working out. Here is an explanation from one of the Calorie point tests I have done that explains your VO2. My VO2 is now 33 it used to be 24 but with all my working out and zone training it is…
  • My trainers force me to jump rope. It is a great cardio workout if you don't suck at it like me. But I think with time you will get better at jumping rope. Another great exercise you can do is kettlebells.
  • I know how hard it is to really get back into the momentum of working out. Especially when you feel that it is hopeless. So first thing I suggest is to try some positive thinking and take it one day at a time. Start out really slow and try not to look at anyone else or worry about them. I was so scared of lifting at the…
  • Hey Tammy I am looking to lose 30 pounds as well. I have just recently started consistently using this site and I love it. It was hard at first because I never found the time to log calories. But now I log at work and really try to make it a part of my life. I am just at this horrible plateau and I can't seem to lose…
  • I can totally sense your frustrations. Depending on how fast you were walking and what your heart rate was at, I don't think 600ish calories is that far off. Trust me I used to be so frustrated with working out and my caloric burn. What affects the amount of calories you burn I think is really your VO2. What is your VO2…
  • I have heard so many things about eating the calories you burn and not eating the calories you burn. I think sometimes people don't accurately explain things. From what I have learned from trainers is that your body requires so many calories just to function. So your body is constantly burning calories. What is important…
  • I don't think that you should stress your HRM. I know it is frustrating to work out and not know exactly how many calories you are burning. So I understand your frustrations. For me I go to Lifetime Fitness and they test your Max heart rates and VO2. I think it is probably more accurate then anything you find on these…
