what is your usual fare? it's tough to suggest things if we don't know what you already cook! for me, winter means soups, stews and lots of baked veggies (potatoes, sweet potatoes, brussell sprouts). lentil soup: 1 cup of dry (any color) lentils (rinsed); 16 oz chicken or veggie stock and 16 oz water; 1 cup chopped…

Getting started is the hardest. It doesn't matter where you start as long as you start. If you have exercise DVD's (or a Wii with basic tennis/bowling game) schedule yourself to do it (such as 2-3 times per week for 15-30 minutes). Whatever goal (frequency and duration) do that for a week or two then add another activity…

I work from home so I cannot use my old excuses for not exercising during the day. I used to say 'I can't get sweaty at work! There is no place to change into work out gear! My office mates will smell my stinky sneakers in my desk drawer!' No more excuses.

I would rather walk outside (if 35+ degrees) because the treadmill is pretty boring (have done the 'save my TV shows to watch on the TM' routine for 4 years). Would like to try a bike. also, does…

Oh, it's right around the corner. Turning forty in August. Yikes! In my 30's I came to terms with the limitations of my body and weight in relation to my current career (desk job, long days) and my goals are realistic. I will never have my 28 year old body because I will never be 28 again. MY goals now are health and…

I got the app last spring, struggled on my own. Joined WW in the fall. Ugh - could not get into the program changes and had lousy leaders. So, quit WW and came back to the MFP app. BUT I am def looking at the community for support this time. I need support. Q: what do you set your daily cal goal at for weight loss? Last…

Hi! I'm a WW refugee looking for support. I love the MFP app, have been doing good with exercise goals, and need help with managing the food regimen. I welcome friends who are MFP Newbies like me AND old timers who can offer advice. Looking to lose 35lbs.

I just found the pie chart graph on my iPhone app and was shocked to see the allotment for carbs. Yikes. I need to focus on adding protein and cutting back on carbs. More than half my intake each day was carbs. Then I found the tool online to track sugar and calcium, 2 things I should watch. I got Greek yogurt to cycle in…
