  • Pants. I am motivated by pants. Pants that fit and pants that don't fit.
  • Is MFP talling you you are not eating enough when you close your diary at the end of the day? My MFP target is 1500 but I aim for 1250. If I go less than 1000 MFP suggests (popup) that I am not eating enough. Note: I was diagnosed w gallbladder disease in Oct so have to develop a new menu of foods that wont trigger the…
  • Old school 12 speed Hamilton-Beach with a glass jar. I started daily smoothies about 6 weeks ago. I figured I'd use that thing sitting in the back of the bottom cabinet instead of buying a bullett or ninja in case the smoothie party didnt last. But now I am hooked on smoothies and wouldnt trade my blender for anything…
  • Same here. But here is the worst thing: i now have gall bladder disease. In addition to screwing with your intestines like other opioids, it can mess with your gall bladder and bile ducts. With gall bladder problems docs often recommend stopping opioid intake to limit the pain and nasuea of gall bladder problems.(worst…
  • I stopped drinking coffee last fall and now grab a Starbucks Refresher when i need a kick in my day. Refreshers can be ordered at most Starbucks in various sizes (60-100 cal) and a few flavors (in like Very Berry best). Its cold, on ice, and watery, not a slushy drink. They also make a sparkling version in tall skinny cans…
  • First few weeks for the worst side effect was headaches. Water helps a lot with the headaches. When it got really bad I would cut down my dosage but that stopped me from getting to 4 a day regularly. So I started taking the night dose right after supper instead of bed time, so the PM dose was farther apart from the AM…

  • i like boot cut and they are getting hard to find. i was out shopping last week and had the girls in the shop hunting for me in the back room. it is spring so they have cut inventory to make room for shorts and capris - all the jeans were brightly colored skinny jeans or regular denim skinny's.
  • healthy eating is my biggest problem. i do not do well with portion control, i make excuses (and believe them) when i over eat. I give in to cravings. i can go in spurts and do well (6-8 weeks) then fall back into my old ways. always has been a challenge for me to eat controlled portions.
  • I went on a business trip and was able to wear pants I haven't worn since October. I wore them in October, but I shouldn't have (too tight), so maybe I should say I haven't fit into them since September.
  • 40! looking for new connections - add me if you like!
  • I had pancakes today before shoveling. Mmmm..pancakes. I use the Healthy Heart Bisquick with Egg Beaters and 1% milk, plus lite syrup and fresh fruit (a pear today). YUM-o! You had me at pancake. I didn't even read your post or the comments.
  • because thousands of years have instilled a motherly instinct in women and because men no longer forage for themselves, men are no longer hunters and gatherers, they rely on super markets and kitchens, not big game and outdoor fires. that's why men do the barbeque. our society has made it this way.
  • Thyroid meds or surgery is not going to change much for your weight loss if you have always been heavy or overweight or 'thick'. Thyroid disorders are a cause of weight problems for very few people and once treated there is little evidence of the problem. I had a complete thyroidectomy in 1998 and have been on meds ever…
  • i'd be happy with a 4lbs loss and would be ecstatic with a 5lbs loss. Short month, so keep my expectations real.
  • Today my pants feel loose, but that's because I wore them yesterday. I long for the day when I pull pants on straight-out-of-the-dryer and they feel loose. Are your pants loose today? Out of the dryer?
  • Sugar Smacks then, raisin bran now.
  • JEANS!!! I started a new job last summer (working at home) so I get to wear jeans everyday. I am so over the 'slacks' and 'dress pants' office attire. I kept some outfits just in case I need them, but I am so over the polyester blends.
  • Ooooh, nice! I am waiting for that to happen for me, too.
  • I think planning or scheduling cheat days is dangerous. I have tried in the past and found myself planning and calculating that cheat day - dreaming about what i would eat. It was not a good mental state to sustain the real task at hand - to lose weight - because I was always thinking about food. This time around with MFP…
  • Yes, definitely. As others mentioned it helps to have some scheduled activities. Last Sunday I had to meet friends at 12, so I hurried to get my walk in during the morning and then shower then go out. Today, the following week, I have no plans and am still on the couch with my laptop and coffee. (....a-a-a-a-and this…
  • "Slacks" as in "she's so (he's so) slacks" == s/he fits into some real nice pants
  • My husband is 14 years older than me. A mature man who can do dishes, manage his own laundry, and will buy me tampons at the store when it's his turn to do the shopping. I acquired him gently broken in, but not broken!
  • I can't remember the last time i had B&J ice cream. Used to live on it in college.
  • it just keeps me from snacking, so its not about burning calories as much as it is calorie intake prevention
  • Pasta Galore? sounds delish! what's in it? But really, you just took the first step to getting back on track - coming here and checking in. Log your food for today - every bite. Log your activity for today - every step. Write up a plan for tomorrow (a plan you can live with). Tomorrow, wake up and focus on that plan. YOU.…
  • Bumblebums - a web name born for this forum. Bums needs pants.
  • Super wide skater pants? <shudder> I hope you can fit in them, but please don't wear them out in public. A public service message brought to you by the people who used to be cool skaters and realize that middle age does not look good in skater clothes. *unless you're part of the Bones Brigade
