I'm going to look at bikes tomorrow. I'm not ready for anything fancy yet but gotta get off this Expedition! I'm interested in a Trek 1.1. Anyone here have one? This shop also sells Cervelo and Pinarello so I gotta take those for a test ride just because!

@Bentrain: I just switched to clipless pedals a few months ago. I can't believe how much my riding has improved! I don't think I could go back to regular pedals again.

@lynnie07: THAT sounds like a fantastic ride!! My ex-BF and I took a motorcycle to PEI from Syracuse, NY a few years ago. That Confederation Bridge is amazing!

I suspected I had hypothyroidism too because I had so many symptoms. About a month and a half ago I bought a "thyroid supplement" on Amazon, basically iodine and some others. Just about a week or so ago I realized a bunch of my symptoms were gone!! I don't have health insurance so I can't have any thyroid tests done. This…

I just signed up to do a century (my first!) in the Adirondacks this fall. It's a charity ride for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. One of my friends recently found out her son has leukemia so I'm riding for him. What's really cool is they train you for 18-20 weeks so you can definitely finish it! Training starts next…

Robin, that sounds like my rides too! I have a Specialized Expedition and yes, the granny gears are good for the steep hill up to my house! I've had this bike for three years now and I'm definitely itching for a road bike. I'm looking at the Cannondale Synapse right now...anyone have one? Pros, cons?

Cycling! I've lost two inches from my hips in the last six weeks!

:::drooling::: The Specialized Roubaix is my dream bike! I promised myself one when I lose 100 lbs. I have a Specialized hybrid now but I really want a road bike.

"the fact that it points to agave nectar is terrible. agave nectar has a higher fructose level than HFCS does and your body does not no how ot store it. It is also highly processed." But it's trendy!!!

I did something similar last year. I cut zucchini in half lengthwise and scooped out a furrow in the center all the way down. Filled it with a sauce//zucchini mixture, topped with cheese then baked it. Delicious!

N00b cyclist here too! I started riding two years ago and now I'm hooked. I have a hybrid that I take on trails and around the city but really want to get a road bike. I'd love to meet other Syracuse cyclists...I have nobody to ride with anymore!

Today was my first day recording my food and WOW! I was surprised by the calories and stuff in a small glass of wine! I think it'll make me lower my wine consumption because I'll be aware of the calories now.

I tried something new this morning and cooked some quinoa. I added a banana, blueberries and a squirt of agave nectar. Delicious and tons of protein! I'd probably leave out the banana or replace it with something with less carbs next time though.

There are a ton of websites that will tell you how to dry your fruit in the oven. Here's one: http://www.seasonalchef.com/preserves21.htm

You can dry your own fruit for a lot less money. You don't even need a dehydrator, you can do it in the oven.
