Good information there, Octo! I did stick out my hand to break my fall. Didn't break anything but my wrist is a bit sore today. Glad I was wearing gloves though. I went down to my right and my left leg has a bruise in the shape of my top tube...LOL. It looks weird.

I bought a couple of tubes of Nuun tablets. They have all the electrolytes but not all the sugar and calories that Gatorade has. They have a lot of different flavors and they're not bad. Kinda taste like salty, watered-down KoolAid.

2.5 hours today. I'm beat but it was worth it. A cute Middle Eastern kid at the c-store thought I was 29 or 30. I'm 47. I asked him to marry me. :-D

A few days ago I was at -38 calories for the day (big cycling day). It said "If every day...blah blah blah" I'd weigh 30 lbs less than I did then. WHAT?? I think I'd be dead.

Forgot...no riding today! I jumped in the lake after riding yesterday and cut up my feet on some shells. Snails or something. I hope they didn't have parasites. Gross.

7/17 rode about 2.5 hours. Lots of climbing. Extreme heat and humidity. Fun times!

No riding for me today. I'm doing a long hilly ride tomorrow though. And it's going to be 92 and humid. But it's not the Pyrenees so I really shouldn't complain. LOL

Ahhh, that could be part of my problem too, lack of core strength. I'm definitely putting way too much weight on my hands when I'm on the hoods. The drops feel a lot better but I just don't ride there a lot. I'm working on the core strength though. It'll be interesting to see if it helps. Thanks for all the suggestions!
