Age: 21 Height: 5'2" SW: 167 CW: 157 GW: 120-130 depending on muscle tone I've found a couple of people that are close to me, anyone else out there?!

This is really encouraging! I was diagnosed with PCOS over two years ago, but all the doctor told me was to watch my sugar intake, which at the time I assumed he meant table sugars, and the stuff you find in sweets and soda. I never considered that he meant all sugars, or in essence, carbs. I had found a little bit of…

Lindsay, I've been reading online and I've seen a lot of people with PCOS saying that low carb has helped them a lot. I know my doctor mentioned it when I was first diagnosed. But I guess the the sugars in carbs are more difficult for our bodies to break down (especially if you have insulin resistance) and our body stores…

Potassium is also supposedly related to muscle cramps. Maybe try eating more bananas?

Wow! That's amazing. I don't have any of my before pics unfortunately but today was my 20 lbs mark so I'm going to pretend I look as awesome as you do now! Keep it up!

If you've been dieting for awhile, you're not going to have the same dramatic drop as some people do. The drop right away (5+ lbs for some people) is solely due to water weight and their body being shocked. If the only thing you really changed is using MFP, you're not going to get that loss. If you've been dieting and…

It's pretty hard for anyone to tell you what you're doing wrong or if you're doing something wrong when you don't have your diary public.

1200 calories a day is what I was told the lowest anyone should ever go - by my physician and 2 of the pharmacists I work with (so no, sorry, I don't think it's just a number someone came up with) because that's what you need to be getting the nutrients your body needs. The fact that your body slows your metabolic rate…

I have arthritis as well (probably seronegative rheumatoid, the doctor doesn't want to make the call yet) and exercise has been pretty difficult for me. I was barely able to walk 1.5 years ago from pain in my knees and hips. The first thing I would suggest is physical therapy. Best decision I've ever made, it's not an…

This was written in 2001...the food pyramid has since been re-done to depict a lot of these issues. However, I seriously disagree with the calcium thing.

Good idea allaroundthesun! This week I'm going to try to have a more balanced diet, even if I don't hit my calorie goal each day. I really struggle with getting too much sugar, sodium, and fat :( Good luck this week everyone! Remember, one day at a time!

I read somewhere that it has something to do with where men and women carry their fat. I can't remember technical terms, but one type of fat is just below the skin and the other is between the organs. I think (THINK) women normally have it below the skin, which is supposedly harder to lose. Also, men don't get raging…

Take time off until you feel better. You need to let your body recover.

I was called "jelly roll" in 4th grade. I've never forgotten that comment.

If you're concerned about eating too much, I would ask a nutritionist what they would recommend. I know 1200 calories is the minimum you need to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs.

My doctor calls to discuss any results with me, good or bad. My gynecologist is very good about getting my results right away.

I used to have a lot of issues with blacking out with exercise (or anything really) and I went to see my doctor (which I definitely agree with everyone else, schedule an appt. now!). For me it ended up being dehydration and iron deficiency, which was an easy fix, but there are more serious things it could be.

Thanks everyone for your help! I'm really careful about losing weight because I've had issues with eating disorders before and I NEVER want to go back to that. If I keep losing at this rate when I go back to my doctor in a month I'll ask her what I should do. I'm not even taking my full dose yet so I think I'll stay low…

It feels unhealthy because I know it's not healthy to lose more than 2 lbs per week normally. I lost nearly 50 lbs on Vyvanse before and gained 70+ back within two years of stopping it, and I really don't want that to happen this time.
-
I've had a similar result on Vyvanse (similar to Adderall) but I wasn't trying to be healthy about it at that point, and I ended up having a lot of problems because of rapid weight loss that didn't stop until I was off the medicine. That's why I'm so worried at this point because I want to do this the right way still. Do…

What do you mean by "right after"? If you threw up after 30 minutes you body already started digesting some of those nutrients, and depending on exactly how much you threw up, you may want to only eat 1/2 of those calories or so back. If it was before 30 minutes and you know there was NOTHING left in your system, you…

I really hope you're going to eat back your exercise calories yet today.

I COMPLETELY FORGOT IT CAME OUT TODAY! Gonna buy it on iTunes now. So excited!

A healthy rate for losing weight the maintainable way is 1-2lbs/wk. The only people that try to get you to think you can lose more are fad diets that don't work in the long run. You didn't put the weight on the weight overnight and it's not going to come on that fast either.

Weigh in! SW: 167 CW: 159.2 GW: 147.2 So excited! Now to start drinking!

I have a HRM and it normally reads around 250 calories for me (5'2", 159 lbs)

Circuit training, around 250 calories.

I got a Polar FT7 HRM last week and I'm in LOVE with it. It was around $100, came with a chest strap and can be detected by the equipment at the gym.

Jumping jacks, jumping rope (without the rope), punches, and butt kicks are all used in 30 Day Shred.Mountain climbers are also good.
