  • I agree with making your own chicken and ham, but I'd love to find a low sodium roast beef!!! That's my favourite. The cals are fine but the sodium is off the charts!
  • Like everyone says.....SODIUM! And water retention can be brutal when the weather is hot. Keep on drinking the water!
  • Generally, if it's a day or two where you are really low on cals, it won't be a big deal. The deal is that we are expected to eat our net calories over the long run so that we don't become sick, unheathy or hit a plateau. Possibly tomorrow, or the next day, you'll end up eating foods that are higher in cals and it will…
  • I usually plan my meals in advance so that I know what kind of calories I have to play with. For example, if I know that dinner is going to be more calories that usual, I'll do a lighter lunch or snacks so that I don't go over.
  • I always have a snack after I walk the dog at night. Usually around 10pm, I'll be having some sort of treat. I hate waking up starving. Especially if I wake up at 5am to pee and the hunger sets in!! lol
  • Ya, where can you buy them??? I'm in Canada.
  • My most recent thing that I did was cut it in 1/2 inch slices and threw them in a pot of pasta sauce. Once they are tender, they taste like the sauce. It was quite yummy. With a cup of pasta and the entire zuchini, along with a salad, the meal is pretty decent on cals.
  • I always count fruit, but I don't necessarily put in that I've had maybe 1 slice of tomato and things like that. But fruit does have quite a bit of calories so that could be why.
  • Same here! My son loves pasta and it was so easy to make after work. I had some pasta the other night but measured the portions and had alot of vegetables with mine. He had his with meat sauce. I used to make penne alfredo with chicken alot. Imagine all that butter in the sauce along with the cals from the pasta?? And I…
  • I have a treadmill that at times is a clothes hanger as well. Right now, it has a spare fan on it that belongs upstairs. I mostly use it when the weather is cooler since I don't have a/c in the house. I'd rather be outside right now where there is a chance of a breeze! It's good for winter though. :)
  • I have 3 male friends on here that do most of the posting! Chatty fellas! lol
  • I draw and paint as well. Feel free to send me the sketch.
  • I've seen this asked before and the usual answer that has been given is peanut butter or other raw nuts. Both are good for you and are a good source of protein. I think almonds were mentioned quite a bit. They also have good calcium. Personally, I'd opt for the peanut butter on maybe an apple or some low cal…
  • I walk my dog twice a day for 12 to 15 minutes at a time and also try to get in some extra walking on my own. I never seem to get more than 20 at a time though. I've lost 16 pounds this way, so I'd have to say it's working. :)
  • I'd love to know the answer to this one as well. I've been thinking about it too and I'm curious to know if it helps with weight loss.

  • I've found that I've been having a slow week as well but the weather here in Ontario has been fairly warm, so it's water retention for me. In fact, I've put on 5 pounds in the last couple of days but my ankles are quite swollen. Try to stay away from sodium and drink lots of water to keep the system flushed. That might…
  • I had never heard Selena sing before but saw her perform on an award show recently. The song has been stuck in my head for days!! And I'm old enough to be her mother!! lol
  • On days like this I don't worry so much about it because there are other days when you might go over so it kind of balances out. I would say that if this issue is a daily thing, you might have to increase your food because too many days under the calories will cause the starvation mode.
  • I feel taller but haven't checked. For me, it's the stretching exercises that makes me have a better posture. It also helps with making you look thinner when you have better posture.
  • I think that question is the biggest question asked on this website. The general rule is that you are to eat back your exercise calories. That would mean that you get to have those additional 450. However, not everyone agrees. You'll have to do some research on here to see what most people are saying. I for one, choose to…
  • When I'm sad, I eat more. But mostly, I'm a smoker but don't always want to smoke each day. When I'm having a non smoking day, I have wicked food cravings!! That part is sometimes hard to control!
  • So far I've had special K with 1% milk. Not a big fan but wanted something other than oatmeal. Lunch will be tuna on whole wheat and a yogurt later as a snack Dinner is going to be honey garlic chicken breast with a caesar salad. And ice cream for dessert!! :)
  • I agree with the previous posters. I have a cheat day every week and eat what I want. I also try to stay at the food range to maintain what I want to weigh down the road. That gives me an extra 500 or 600 cals for that day. I've also checked out zig zag dieting and think that it might be working with having the cheat day.…
  • Sounds sciatic. I'd suggest an ice pack on your lower back for a couple of days. And possibly a bit of stretching but not too much!
  • The new day starts when I wake up as well. It just means that the day before when you were up late, you might be over by a bit, but the next day you could stay under and balance it out.
  • I have that same issue every freaking day! It's very frustrating because when you choose low cal foods, they are high in sodium!! Example: 1 slice of low fat processed cheese is 35 cals but 310mg in sodium. I check the sodium content in all foods when I'm shopping and try not to buy things that have too much. I also read…

  • On a regular day, I lose 3 pounds over night. on days that I retain water from too much sodium, I can lose up to 6. But then, I have water retention issues so I'm not 100% my situation is normal.
  • Welcome aboard! It's a great site. It makes counting calories and tracking exercise so easy. Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like. :)
  • I haven't found it accurate at all. I do like having it there as a motivator though.
