  • I decided to come into the forum to see if anyone had posted anything about eating at night while being on Quetiapine (seroquil). What a relief it is to find that it's not just me! I need the meds for depression and anxiety, but have around 15 pounds in the 6 weeks that I've been on it! The medication is working but the…
  • I weighed 125 when I was a teenager, then met my ex husband and had two kids over 5 years. I gained around 60 lbs in that 5 years. Then for the next 20 years, I guess I dated or was in relationships with men that were thin or had fast metabolisms and I ended up eating like they did. So that was another 30 or 40 pounds on…
  • I find it very inspiring to see people that are overweight doing their best to get in shape. My thought process when I see someone like that is "you go girl/guy!" Do your best to ignore those ones that are making you feel inadequate because they probably have issues in their lives that we just can't see. You're the better…
  • I like this one! Obviously, if you were done, you'd be off the machine, so why do they have to ask??
  • I have my bigger clothing in bags in the basement, which is as good as being gone. When I hit my goal weight this summer, I'm going to take the biggest pair of pants and take pics, then it all gets donated. I ain't going back either!! It's too much work to lose the weight so why would we want to go through all that again?
  • I had been told that cardio after weights is best to avoid lactic acid buildup which causes sore muscles. But on the other hand, warming up is necessary. So I do: 15 mins bike 15 mins treadmill 45 mins to 1 hour of weights 20 mins bike 20 mins treadmill 15 mins of stretching But I only do it 3 times a week. And it's not…
  • I find it's helped me too. I have panic attacks and anxiety, plus depression. When I work out, the endorphine rush really helps my moods.
  • Totally agree! :drinker:
  • Same here. I can't live without pizza!
  • Water or wine. That's pretty much all I drink. And even more water the day after wine. lol I do about 96 oz's a day. I stopped caffeine about 8 years ago and will have a decaf tea of coffee once in a blue moon. But mostly just water. You'll get used to it. :drinker:
  • I agree. When I started I was mostly watching what my old habits were to see where I was going wrong over all those years. Since then, I rarely have canned soups or anything high in sodium. I've also cut out eating as much pasta as our household used to since it's pretty high in calories. I've also added alot more…
  • I probably have a cheat day every 5th or 6th day. For me, it means that I'm going over my calories by a few hundred but I'm also eating stuff that I like such as maybe pizza or red meat of some sort. The reason for this is because it's like zigzagging. It keeps your body guessing on how much you are going to give it which…
  • I'm 5'7" as well and there's no way I could ever be 118. The least that I weighed was 125 and friends and family said they thought I was anorexic. My goal right now is 160. If I lose more than that great, but if not 160 will look good! That will be a 65 pound loss by then and I'll be quite happy with that. :) Also, I…
  • "I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy!!" LOL
  • I do vodka and soda with lemon or lime. Around 70 cals and the lemon is good for you. :)
  • I'm Mississauga too!
  • I didn't think of that!! Might have to give it a try some day! lol
  • I do 6 ounces of 1% for dipping 2 low cal cookies. Not every day but probably 3 times a week. Otherwise, I just drink water. Or wine! :drinker:
  • Couldn't agree more! It's a lifestyle, not a diet. There will always be days that you've gone over, but you just get back on the wagon and keep plugging away at it. :)
  • Everyone that has posted on this subject is correct. Under 1200 is just asking for trouble in the future. You'll lose muscle mass and then you'll be in the bracket as skinny fat. The worst that you'll get from eating at McD's is water retention because the sodium is off the charts! Don't be surprised if you see a weight…
  • I weigh in every morning after I've emptied my bladder. I have a water retention issue so I do it to see if I'm retaining anything that day since I can put on over 5 lbs in a day. But that's just me. I think the standard is once a week on the same day at the same time kind of thing.
  • I never just assumed that this site is completely accurate when I started either. But in the first few weeks, I did my research and found that it's probably as close as you can get. Sometimes the calories are inaccurate so a few changes have been made. And the theory of 1200 cals as a minimum seems to be pretty standard…
  • Walk 12 mins to the gym and work out for 2 1/2 hours, then hit the grocery store and pull a heavy bundle buggie home for another 15 minutes. The shopping is once a week. The other times, it's 12 mins to and from the gym, plus 2 1/2 hours or working out.
  • Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds. Or Shemar Moore. MGG is first choice though. Yummy!!
  • Losing 1 to 2 pounds per week is considered healthy. Half a pound a week seems way too low for me. :)
  • These are all too funny!!
  • Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried Just two of my favourites. :)
  • That's awesome!!
