Instead of having a bag of chips, I'll have a handful. And instead of eating the entire choc bar, I do 1/3 or maybe 1/2. I've also bought thin triscuits for a salt fix and you can have quite a few for about 100 cals. The other thing I came across recently is jello chocolate mousse. 60 cals and they are quite good! In…

I just made a batch of roasted red pepper soup and love it! It takes awhile to make, but you end up with lots and it freezes quite well. I freeze them in single serving size for when I want a snack that isn't high in calories.

This was quite informative. Thanks for posting!

I don't have the answer to that, but I would really like to know how it works. I love green tea and drink it fairly often, but I haven't seen any results like that. I'll watch this thread though. Thanks for posting this one! :)

Now that's the kind of NSV I like!! If only these people knew the effort and struggles we have to go through to get to a point where their sort of insult is truly appreciated!! lol Love it!! Keep up the good work!

It takes alot of control to not do it. But that is why I have a complete cheat day, and I mean DAY so that the rest of the week is better kept within the calories. Example: yesterday I ate almost 800 calories more than I'm allotted. But today I'm under by about 350. Tomorrow, will be around the same to keep it balanced. I…

I do so that I can plan out what I'm going to eat for the day.

That's friggin funny and awesome at the same time. Excellent progress!! But what a way to find out!

Get back on that wagon! lol. But I wouldn't beat myself up over falling off for a couple of weeks. It happens to all of us because it's so easy to do. Old habits die hard. I consider the weight loss thing a lifestyle change so if I have a few bad days here and there, I don't mind because it's best to look at the long term…

non fat cream cheese. It's good on crackers, toast or mixed into things like pasta and rice. I've used it as a cheese or butter (or both) substitute when I want a tasty sandwich. Cream cheese, lettuce, tomato on a bun is good!

I've been having panick attacks for years and I've found the only way it works for me is if I do the "talk it through" thing as well. When those days hit, I force myself to face it and usually I end up fine. It can be quite tough though. Power to you for getting above it! :)

I've heard the same thing. So what I've done is make my own green iced tea. Take 10 cups of boiled water, two tea bags and let it steep for a few minutes. Remove tea bags and add some sugar to taste. I use about 1 tsp for the whole batch. Then add a bit of lemon juice to taste as well. I have a glass jug that I make it in…

I made matching blankets when my daughter was 5 and I was pregnant with my son. One for her bed and one for his crib since they shared a room in the beginning. I made a blanket for my mother, that made her cry since she didn't expect it. I made a baby blanket for my neice that had her name crocheted into it. I have one on…

I crochet, if that counts. :)

I find that when I do stretches on a regular basis, it makes me carry my posture alot better. Mind you, I quite often have to remind myself to hold my stomach in which then makes you stand taller.

I don't have a specific recipe at this time, but a good tip is to replace butter/margerine with applesauce in recipes. You can replace the entire amount of butter in cakes and muffins, but it turns out better when you do half butter and half applesauce for cakes. It ends up lowering your calories by a fair bit.

I take Levothyroxin and have for about 20 years. Losing weight for me isn't any different than it would be for a person with a normal thyroid. Not sure why though.

I think it kind of ties in with zig zag dieting which seems to work. On a cheat day, I will go over by about 500 calories, but the next few days, I usually have around 200 left each day. I've been losing weight a bit slower this way but it's the best way for me so that I don't deny myself of anything. It's the long run…

MFP has mine set to 25mg per day, but when looking it up on the internet, I found that the average amount per person that isn't diabetic is 40mg. I quite often go over the 40 though!!

Dinner so that I can make meals that work for my very thin son and my medium weight daughter. Typically, I'll make chicken and salad, and make rice or pasta as an extra for my son. I plan out dinner early enough in the day so that I can divide the rest of the calories for the other meals and snacks.

I have low potassium so I've done some research. One thing that I've been doing is taking supplements. But here is a list that I found recently on the internet: Foods with Potassium Serving Size Potassium (mg) Apricots, dried 10 halves 407 Avocados, raw 1 ounce 180 Bananas, raw 1 cup 594 Beets, cooked 1 cup 519 Brussel…

Are you sure you look terrible in them?? Post a picture for us to judge you! :) Either way, you look great and your success is very inspiring!

My biggest thing is sodium. Watch your intake because it will keep excess water in your system and is also bad for your heart. Check the sodium content of foods when you're shopping and try to buy items that have less. Good luck on your journey!

Non scale victory. As in, when you notice changes in yourself regardless of weighing in. Like going down a dress size, or being able to exercise longer/better. :)

I count my calories every day regardless of what I eat. I don't consider cheat days because I'm not on a diet. This is a lifestyle change. Everything in moderation is the key to success. If I have a couple of days where I'm over my calories, I know it will balance out down the road by having more fruit or veggies on those…

Drinking lots of water helps with water retention issues, which I have. Also good for making you feel more full. I always drink about 16 oz before I eat dinner so that I feel full faster. I generally drink 12 cups per day. Sometimes more with exercising or if it's hot out.

I've been on thyroid meds for under active for about 20 years now. The thing I found most is that my energy was pretty low before I started and it helped balance that out. I think I had lost a few pounds initially (but of course gained them over the years, just because of my bad habits!) I take my pill with my very first…
