I hear it all the time too and I'm short so its obvious that I'm overweight. I think weight is a such a complicated issue that there are alot of reasons to be hearing this. I know this sounds terrible, but I'll put it out there. In my case I think some people I know who are at a healthy weight like me being overweight…

Thank you everyone who posted the different web sites. This is a very very interesting topic for me, one that I hope to see more discussion on. I believe there is some truth in all these articles. I do not think weight loss/weight gain is black and white or simple and I think we have alot more to learn on this subject.…

I think I just got added so you should have enough time to get added too, go to the Group and add your starting weight.

Umm 158, wow I added 10 pounds to my weight.

Sounds delicious, I'm going to try it!

Caffeine withdraw was my first thought as well. The headaches are terrible and any type of light hurt but they go away. Mine went away after about 48 hours.

I know what you mean. I don't really feel I deserve it, half the time I don't believe I have lost any weight. I went clothes shopping yesterday and at first I grabbed sizes that were too big for me because I don't quite get it. If anything bad happens in my life (minor or major) the first thing I think of is eating…

If you see a small salad on the menu that would work ingredient wise but its too small for a meal, order 2

Very into eating healthy while I'm losing weight. Feel free to add me.

Tomatoes except that technically they are a fruit Peas - Raw or in Pea soup which is the yummiest soup ever and can be eating hot or cold

What the above posters have said is correct, steel cut oats are healthier (and yummy). However both foods are very healthy foods and if for some reason you can't get steel cut oats you are still doing alot of good for your body by eating Quacker minute oats.

I have recently started eating this way about 90%. And I never felt better.
-
I feel exactly the same way. I have no room to keep all my old sizes that are too big but I'm having alot of trouble giving them away because on some level I am not really believing that they are too big for me now.

Did you get sunburned? That might be another reason to retain water.

This is actually a pet peeve of mine. I know I was told no way could I lose weight after menopause. I really wish people would stop saying that because it made me even more reluctant to even try and lose weight. Do I lose weight as easily as I did at 20? No. However I also approached weight loss differently at age 51 then…

I'm not sure if this is active either. I am 5 ft 2 3/4 inches. I have been yo yoing my entire adult life. However as a child I was very very thin, had no interest in food. I would love to be friends with other petite women. I am not even sure what my goal weight should really be.

Hi I'm 51. I had always been told you can't lose weight after menopause, I believed it. Last April I was told i was prediabetic and I had a talk with myself and decided I had to do something drastic which I did. My sugar is now normal although I still have weight to lose. I am soo impressed with everything I have learned…

The way people treat you differently when you are overweight, as if you are stupider Every event I had to get dressed up for was stressful as I was constantly needing larger and larger sizes and looking worse and worse.

Like a few of the posters have already mentioned in some shape or form - beans. Seriously I can't say enough good things about beans, they are super healthy. There are so many types of beans out there and tons of recipies once you look around. Oatmeal is also good. Eating some nuts and seeds (raw, no salt) is also good,…

In my opinion oatmeal is wonderful. It is healthy, it fills you up, its slow digesting so it keeps you full longer. I think its a great way to start the day and I do include it in my diet. In relation to oatmeal I personally would not worry about what the carb numbers say, oatmeal is awesome.

Congratulations! Enjoy, you sure deserve it!

This is a trigger food for you, I am guessing that you can't just eat a few even if you divide them up into baggies. I understand this, cheese is my trigger food and no matter what I plan or what I tell myself ahead of time I will eat it all once I start. So my advice is not to eat it. Thank your Dad, then explain that you…

This is my biggest diet challenges/nightmares and it happens regularly in my family. I eat before I go and try not to eat during the event although I am asked at least 25 times if I ate or why am I not eating.

You mean we aren't supposed to eat the skin, its the best part! Cream cheese slathered over potato chips And I also have eaten more raw than cooked hot dogs in my life.

You are not alone. My entire adult life I have been a yo you with weight loss. I have never been able to keep it off and that is my biggest fear with my current weight loss, will I be able to stay at my new low weight once I achieve it (I do think I can achieve it). My only answer to this is that I (we) have to accept the…

Yes, because the goal of any human diet is to look like an elephant. Strong logic ... I didn't really think this required further explanation but I guess I'm wrong. I was showing that you don't need meat to grow. I am done responding to this portion of the thread.

I do eat fish once a week (to get natural omegas) but no meat. For protein I also eat seeds and beans, for fat I eat nuts. I eat a ton of vegetables and salad. I eat some fruit (berry type fruit). I eat oatmeal and healthy carbs like quinoa (also has protein). And guess what look up vegetables, they have protein too…
