I would also suggest plank also as long as it won't hurt your back. It won't make your gut go away, but it will strengthen your core which helps with a lot of other things.

I've had to deal with this because of food allergies. When I find myself going somewhere I know or suspect won't be much for me to eat, I make sure I eat before I go. I don't know about eating less. Have you considered taking a break from loosing weight and just going on a maintenance diet for a couple of weeks? It may not be a popular idea, but it's helped me in the past when I've plateaued.
