Good luck. You can do it. The way your body will start to feel will help push you along. My best advice is try new things, don't just expect to eat the vegan versions of SAD foods and expect it to be satisfying (ie fake bacon, fake cheese and such). Also your taste buds will change as well, (they do for everyone anyways…

Veganomicon Thug Kitchen (it does use profanity though, but the recipes are amazing and the way it is written cracks me up)

I would like to start another round soon. Oct sounds like a great time for it. Count me in, when are you thinking of starting?

Veganomicron and Thug Kitchen both have awesome recipes. Especially Thug Kitchen, though it does cuss all throughout it in a humorous manner. So if that type of language offends you you might not want it. I personally think that it is hilarious and I have loved EVERYTHING that I have made from it.

The sugar doesn't get converted to fat like how added sugars and sweeteners etc do. The fiber in the fruit helps to pass the unused sugar/fructose out of the body.

I use it for most of the above things and for anything else where Parmesan cheese is usually used.

I haven't been on mfp much lately and just saw this thread. How did the reboot go? I like to add habanero to my juices sometimes. You don't need much. I mean like one pepper for a pitcher of juice to start off with or else it may be painful to drink. Ironically enough if you overdo it green peppers work really well for…

Well said AliceDark. I was just concentrating on the whether or not it is healthy.

It is very healthy and a great way to get used to increasing your intake of whole raw foods. Not to mention by doing raw till 4 you can go home and have whatever you would like for dinner in the short term and then slowly transition to being vegan from there if it feels right to you instead of just going vegan cold turkey.…

I'm on, I have just had a lot going on for a few months. I actually just watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2 for the first time last week and I think it is even better than the first one.

I can't really say I enjoyed it, but I do feel like if it is going to snow then bring it on. I'd rather have a ton of snow than little flurries that just melt and make everything all muddy or slippery. I def turned shoveling into a workout as well.

I have a love/hate relationship with them. Really it isn't their fault though. I love their music and I saw them prob around 2002 and they were awesome. But I can't stand to listen to them because they remind me of a person that screwed me over pretty badly. I'm sure I just need to work out that issue and get over it…

Your taste buds definitely change. I agree they change with sugar (or the lack thereof), but I think even more so with salt and fats. It's like once you stop bombarding your taste buds with these things you can actually taste and enjoy things that used to seem bitter or bland. Like vegetables. I used to cover salads with…

Once you get into the habit of drinking water you start to crave it much more. Whenever I realize I have not been drinking much/enough water I do things at work like put a glass of water in a spot that I go to frequently. Then everytime I go there I take a drink. It doesn't have to be a huge drink, but by the end of the…

I will be starting it again in the next week or so. Just moving into a new place.

Congrats! I agree, it is a lot easier to follow than what I expected, but I assume that you would have to be really ready to make the transition in order to get that feeling.
-
I actually like it more than the pasta. I think it has a better taste and texture.

When I use mine for zucchini spaghetti I don't cook or steam the zucchini at all, the sauce does it for you when you add it. Then it isn't mushy at all unless you let it sit there for a while, and still then I wouldn't say mushy, just much softer. I really want to try the spaghetti squash though.

Last year I went vegetarian for 3 months after a friend and I watched Vegucated and said "We should try that". The reason I stopped was because I bought the Insanity workout and it comes with a book of meal suggestions and I wanted to do it proper. But I missed the way my body felt when I was Veg, so after two months of…

Congrats on getting a juicer!! You may want to just consider adding juices to your daily life in addition to what you are currently eating to see the benefits there, or maybe add the juices and also try to alter what you are eating to be more healthy maybe. I'm not sure what types of things you are currently eating. The…

A big part of it is the vitamin and caloric value of the fruits compared to the veggies. Mostly the calories though. (to my understanding) In order for you to get the proper amount of calories eating mostly veggies you would have to eat like all day long. Veggies are wonderful for you and def essential, but they lack…
