Hi. I'm late to the game! I've been doing the keto 800 (ish) for 5 weeks. It's been a bit wobbly, but I've gone from 117kgs to 109kgs in that time. I'm not very active yet, but will be aiming to increase that. Glad to meet you all.

Hey everyone. MFP was really helpful for me a few years ago, when I went from being a couch potato to running a marathon over 18 months. A great side effect was that I lost 30kgs. A less good side effect was that I ended up with arthritis in both hips, became inactive, and had them both replaced by the time I was 42. I've…

Keto here too. Add me😊

I've been taking 30mg duromine for 6 or 9 months. I have medical issues (osteoarthritis in both hips) and my gp knows I need weight loss to help control the pain. I have to say that I am not really an over eater and never was. I think it may have helped a little. I didn't have any side effects, and still don't. Sometimes I…

New to keto... Not to mfp... Been following keto diet for about 3 weeks on recommendation from my gp. I'm a 5'2 female, and in 2011 was 117kg. Started walking, then running, and ran a bunch of half and full marathons. By 2013 was down to 78kg for a heartbeat. Got multiple injuries, lifted weights instead. Got injured again…

ice blocks:-). low cal, keep you occupied for ages!

Don't worry:-). You're exercising a lot at the moment! My suggestion to you is to focus on your fitness rather than your weight. Sometimes weight takes forever to shift, and it can be disheartening (FWIW your muscles may be retaining water with all that exercise, and that's possibly why the extra weight). I haven't looked…

Hey Zilla. Im kind of in the same boat. Started off in 2011 (after my 3rd baby) at 117kg, and 5'2". Lost a bunch of weight and got down to 78kgs- ran a few marathons, lifted some heavy stuff, etc. Then tore my hammy and took 3 months off. Got back into it and got a stress fracture in my foot. Got back into it again and…

Hey all:-). Im in!

happy hardcore. crap.

i lost weight. i got fed up with logging and so stopped. i maintained for a while, but i guess my eating habits changed without me noticing. now im trying to get off the 5kgs i gained.
-
I really enjoyed doing New Rules of Lifting for Women. I havent done any of the others though.

I havent fallen off the wagon exactly. I'm kind of gripping to the back of it with my fingernails as it tries to warp speed away from me. But Im going with it! sometimes i get a foot back on it, then it comes off. The best thing ive got to keep me going is that i enter running and obstacle course events. I need to have…

originally i thought that this would be totally do-able. But then i stopped to think! It took me 18 months to go from sitting on the couch to doing my first full- and my training for that entire time was planned, methodical and rigorous. Also, i never trained with the intention of running the full. My first goal was the…

LIKE!!!!!!! awesome feeling, isn't it! FWIW, it took me 6 months to do my 1st full after i did my 1st half- it just kinda rolled that way! enjoy your achievement- you've done so well. think of how much healthier your body is now! and you can just rock out a half whenever you feel like it!

Hi! I hear what you're saying! I started on here in Jan 2011 weighing in at a mighty 235lbs (at 5'2"), with a BMI of 42. Also, I cook for 5. Probably the best piece of advice I can give is to focus on becoming fitter. It's much easier and faster to see changes in your level of fitness, and weight loss takes some time. If…

Yep, sign up for the 5k. And Id also suggest from here on in, get yourself a 5k route and keep doing that. Even walking it all, 5ks wont take longer than 45-50 mins. And keep going how you have been so far, as it seems to be working for you:-). So, run your mile, take a walk break, then run a bit more. Repeat as needed…

Im a lady grunter. And if someone asked me to tone it down i'd be mortified. then i'd ignore them and carry on as i was. i can't stop the noises- it's the effort put in, not the weight lifted. I also grunt on the hard parts of hill runs, and essentially during a lot of exercises. I agree that if the noises make you…

I have 2 Hungarian Viszlas. They need a lot of running. Well, I run. They walk.

Hi! In for the ride! Although I must admit i love doing HIIT workouts to the prodigy.

I'll be 35 in March

Im 5'2", and my goal is to be happy and fit, regardless of what weight that may be at.

HRMs are great for telling you what your heart rate is and how hard you're actually working. It's just that the cal burn on them for bouncy activities are not as accurate as other steady and continuous effort activities.
-
HRMs are better for assessing the cal burn of STEADY STATE CARDIO- such as running. Sadly, theyre not so great at accurately assessing the burn for the kind of stuff youre doing. FWIW, my heart rate can push 180 at times, so your heart's not going to explode or anything! Sounds like the classes you're doing are great…

Yep. It works. Another c25k grad here. i started at 220lbs ish and a couch potato. I had to do 2 weeks work first to be able to jog for 1 min without stopping (week 1 of the programme). That was Jan 2011. Since then running has been part of my life. Ive ran a 5k (my first run), a 10k, about 10 halves and 2 fulls. Currently…

no. mfp is already set so that you continue with the calorie deficit. thus you eat back the exercise cals and the 500 cal deficit remains there. iykwim. FWIW as long as your keeping an eye on what you eat, i would focus on the fitness gains made from running. Over time things will drop into place. Are you drinking enough…

if you can't eat enough, then drinking it is fine too! i sometimes make a smoothie but include oats in there and some peanut butter. I never eat before a run of under 12kms. if im going over that, then my usual is 2 pieces of toast with pb and banana about 90 mins prior. i'll wait for about 30 mins after i get home and…

I quite like to run in the rain. But not if it's raining sideways kind of rain. And I'm usually better at starting off when when it's only spitting, then if the heavens open a bit into the run then I'm all good with it. I have 2 pairs of runners, so i can always swap them out if they need to dry. i wear running clothes so…

I agree with the majority. What's the issue? It's only one can. If you're adamant you don't want it, then use willpower and have a glass of water instead. Personally, i'd mainline on it if i could! that and coffee.

Out of the choices, I prefer the less Hulk-like Rock.
