Not sure where everyone lives but snow shoeing is a great way to burn calories, fun, you get fresh air, and not expensive I bought my snow shoes for 60.00 at Sam's Club. i prefer to do cardio outside so…

  • My insurance didn't cover it but it was worth the $ and then some, and I live in Wisconsin they just increased cigs to almost 5.00 a pack another incentive to quit. Good luck, it is the hardest thing I ever did in my life but each day I am realizing how much better I feel, smell, and value not picking up a cig. It is worth…
  • I used Chantix myself and it is amazing. I quit the first week of November and I am just thrilled with the results. Now if everything didn't taste so good after you quit smoking
  • I think it is fairly common to get to that point. I am fighting a 7lb gain, and have to tell myself all the time to chill out a bit. Hang in there
  • Keep at it. In time he will see you doing it and just want to keep up with you. My husband and I keep eachother going and often work-out together. He was the one that motivated me so I understand how it feels. Eventually you just don't want to sit on the couch and watch tv alone:smile:
  • I live by mine. So easy! I am a chicken junkie, but this is one of my hubbies faves: 2-3 frozen chicken breasts 1 can diced tomatoes garlic & onions to taste let it go for 4 hours on high or 8 on low, and it is delicious! Serve w/green beans or a salad. I try to do low carb but you could add a whole grain pasta or rice…
  • Welcome! I am working on 5 lbs myself, I think we all face the same struggles and the support is what makes this site so fantastic.
  • I tend to be a little heavy on the protein side too, but for me it fills me up and makes me feel better than loading up on carbs.

  • Great Abs is another one by Beach Body that rocks. I rotate with slim n six, great abs, turbo jam and some others to keep it interesting, but Great Abs truly is the best ab workout I have ever tried.
  • Welcome Jenny! Your kids might resist it at first but I am sure they will enjoy it, and if you do this as a family you all will have better success. Good luck to you all and Happy New Year! I'm from Wisconsin too, I think we are doomed all that delicious cheese, and beer.:drinker:
  • I struggle with this too, my periods have become very irregular since I have been working out. My Dr. said it is normal so annoying yes but it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.
  • I flucuate anywhere from 5-7 lbs a month. It is very frustrating, but I try to watch my sodium and caffeine and at least I feel a little better that way.
  • That makes a lot of sense, thanks for all the great tips. I know what to do now but this time of year is difficult regardless, so I have to be strong.
  • Thanks for all your support. I am thinking of incrreasing my cardio to an hour 6 days a week just as a precautionary. I feel so much stronger already, I just can't deny how delicious everything tastes.:drinker:
  • I quit smoking a month ago, probably bad timing with the holidays and all:laugh: I am trying real hard not to eat mindlessly and up my cardio when I do but everything tastes so great right now. • You are not alone. I swear by Evening Primrose Oil, lots of water, low sodium foods, and exercise.
  • I am a huge believer in strength training. I personally mix it up, I have different routines that I vary with that really helps me. Even if you start with a different set it wil help. I swear by this.
