60 min Peleton powezone endurance ride. Basically long zone 3 intervals. Crappy weigh in this a.m. despite a good few days of inputs. Oh well. Carry on.

Fluctuations. I'm in the need to lose 20 lbs group (7-8 lbs down over about 8 weeks so far...so 13 to go). So I'm losing about a 1 lb per week. Hard part is getting on the scale after 3 solid days and being a lb and a half heavier. Know its water weight and normal, blah, blah, blah: it still sucks. When you are losing a lb…

Active rest day with several pre/post workday dog walks totalling about 6 miles. My dog loves active rest days.

I don't think you need rest days from walking unless you are pushing really high mileage (10 miles/day?). Its low impact. Low HR. Generally good for you. If you are running and doing interval trsining days etc...then it's a good idea to have a rest day. But it's even better to have an active rest day.....and often that…

I'm 2 lbs away from "halfway there". I'm "only" losing 20 lbs but the halfway mark has me super motivated right now.

I like Sworkit although its no longer free and Peleton Digital...which is $19/month for unlimited spin classes plus other stuff.
-
Avocados. Not calorie cheap but feels like 3x calories it is.

Ok. I would say anything that is 125% of bodyweight is above average but not hardcore lifter good.

I'm 40% to goal this am and on track to be 50% by Thanksgiving. Really want to hit that halfway number as the rest is DOWNHILL!!!
-
45 minute Peleton power zone ride. A bunch of threshold pace with VO2 max thrown in. Walk dog for 20 min for cool down. Hit 40% weight loss goal today...so on track for 50% by Thanksgiving. But....need a rest day. Feeling a little burnt out.

I use Sworkit. It will describe the pose and show someone getting into it. It has other stuff and is not really yoga specific...but it syncs with this app. I'm definitely more beginner although have worked in just 10-30 min 3x per week into my plan over last year. Probably not actually as good as some of the suggestions…

I think you've already figured this out but 5k swimming is way more hardcore than a 5k run. Doable, but closer to a half marathon than a 5k...

Awesome. Congrats. Humblebrag merited!!

Most traditional weight lifting advice will say do it all at once to fatigue. But there is some research coming out now that says its just cumulative and doesn't matter. So, unclear. Probably most important is that you are doing it and enjoying it.

30 min yoga. 60 min peleton powerzone endurance spin. 30 min dog walk.

This is a fun thread. I have a bunch of guys I cycle with. I used to be 1st up hills and right now I'm last. Which I ab-so-lute-ly hate. So my petty reason to lose 20 lbs (14 to go) is so I'm 1st or 2nd up the hill. P.S. this is a group of MAMILs, not competetitive cyclists (a MAMIL = middle aged man in licra).

I had 20 to lose but am down to 14 to go. It's hard. I am losing more like 3-4 pounds a month but it feels like a lot of effort for not much result. But plan is to stick with it until I get it done. Very restricted on alcohol (pretty much none except for 4 cheat days) for 6 weeks. And my incentive to keep going is that i…

Mostly (2 exceptions...) AF in October. *Have* to stay on track today and tomorrow. Weigh in Monday psychologically important. Feel like a drink but not gonna do it. (There I wrote that so I'm committed.) Woot, woot.

40 mile ride on gravel bike. Mix of road and non technical trail. Conversational pace. And....wrangling three teenagers to get their chores done. Maybe more mental fatigue but the latter more tiresome than the former. Grrrrrrrr.

10 min yoga. 45 min Peleton power zone (bike spin class). Was:: 12 min warmup 1st set 30 sec easy between each interval: 2.5 min zone 4 2 min zone 5 90 sec zone 5+ 2 min zone 5 2.5 min zone 4 3 min easy. 2nd set same as first except add 30 sec to each interval. Second set was hard so I cheated and did zone 3,4,5 instead of…

OP has a point. My state just passed a law that makes obese people a protected class. Meanwhile 75% of healthcare spending is now on preventable diseases directly resulting from obesity.

2,500 yards freestyle. (First time in pool in about 6 months...so planning on soreness tomorrow...). Couple of 20 min dog walks.

I'm doing Peleton spin classes at home. I don't own a Peleton but do have an 8 yr old trainer in the garage that shows watt output. (I also ride outdoors but less in winter.) Peleton app is $19 per month w/o the bike. ($49 with bike....don't get it...). I'm doing power zone training. Doing longer endurance classes a couple…

See Dr. You probably have albuterol but might ask him/her about putting you on Flovent.

Yesterday was active rest day. Walked dog for 30 min in morning and again after work. Today was long at least for me during work week: 75 min peloton power zone ride 5 long zone 3 intervals - 12 min, 9 min, 6 min, 9 min, 12 min - with 4 min zone 2 in between each. All watt based not heart rate. Not too bad except last…

Words "concept 2" automatically raise my blood pressure. I'm 25 years post college and finally don't have erg stress dreams. My favorite was from a longtime ago: I had a 10k erg test. When I showed up - as dreams will - the test suddenly was the starting line (although in the dream this made sense and was still just an erg…

Read the posted critique from Muscleflex. Non scientific sample of 1...if I am trying to hit a net calorie number its 10x harder if I eat high calorie sugary stuff because I get hungry again faster. I suspect sugar is correlated with obesity. But its probably also related to not getting cals from vegetables, protein and…

Lapsed Saturday night (3 skinny margaritas and a glass of wine) Date night with spouse so I'm going to cut myself slack. Back to no alcohol and did 90 min spin class yesterday as "penance". Going for weight milestone in next two weeks (halfway there...) so trying to be strict about alcohol (non) consumption over next two…

10 min of yoga then 25 min riding zone 2/3. Then 20 min short intervals pushing big wattage (zone 6/7) - at least for me - (240-289-340-420 watts) but very short- descending in time but increasing power intervals. Walked 2 miles (dog plus to and from lunch) to round it out and get crap out of legs.

I used to run a fair amount but now mostly cycle but here's my best advice: - running is a lot more fun outdoors. Personally I did 80%+ of my running on a trail. Bonus = better on joints. If you run in nature/beautiful places its 1,000x less "work" and more fun - add slowly. Big jumps in distance or pace cause injury. - as…
