  • Listen to your body after you eat foods. Certain foods trigger people that don't trigger others. For example, for the life of me I cannot consume processed pork. Sugary foods tend to make things worse. Not having enough fiber makes things worse for me personally. Very fatty foods make things worse-like bad fats though.
  • I have a tiny grocery budget. I like to use my crockpot to make potato soup, slow cook a whole chicken. I also like to buy dried beans and cook a 1lb bag and then throw them in the freezer for later use. Crockpot potato soup:4-6 potatoes cut up, 2 carrots shredded, 1 onion minced, chicken stock/water, seasonings. Let this…
  • I just put my food at 1,200, but it's 1,200 net, not set in stone 1,200. Personally eating at 1,200 net encourages me to exercise. If I keep it at 1,500 I am less likely to workout, but at 1,200 I want to eat more so I go out and earn it. Makes me happier because I can control how much I get to eat and I feel better…
  • vadervader, our goals are close to the same!
  • When I am being realistic I try to eat 1,500 calories per day. I am 5'4 and 193 (started at 200). You can honestly eat whatever you want and lose weight.... but I have been eating a lot of eggs, beans, smoothies (I use a meal replacement powder, frozen 1/2 banana, 1/4 c black beans and 1 cup skim milk..you can't taste the…
  • I like to have a hardboiled egg or 2 scrambled eggs with salsa. Veggies and hummus is good. Celery is filling and cheap. You can make your own hummus. It's much cheaper. I also love beans! Buy them dried. A 1lb bag of black beans is about $1.80 at walmart and makes a giant freezer bag of cooked beans. 1 cup of black beans…
  • As long as it doesn't turn into a cheat marathon then go to town.
  • After a couple weeks it can either get easier or harder. I think most of us are really determined in the start of it and it feels easy...and then our old habits want to sneak back in there. You may want to consider eating more than 1,200 though...even upping it by 100-200 calories can make a difference. If you don't want…
  • Microwave eggs are nasty....but if you add in black beans, avocado and salsa they are awesome! Also a meal replacement type powder mixed in with skim or almond milk and coffee ice cubes is delish. (just pour coffee into ice tray and freeze)
  • My toddler really doesn't like meats much either, but she will eat beans, eggs (I know that doesn't help you) and chicken nuggets. She also likes kosher hot dogs. I also give her little cubes of cheese during breakfast or her snack. Cows milk offers plenty of protein. Sometimes she likes it when I make her a half sandwich:…
  • almond milk or skim milk, protein powder base, 1/2 avocado and lots of ice. Or really just the almond milk, lots of ice and protein powder. I like to freeze coffee in an ice cube tray and add that to my drinks. It makes it thicker, taste better and gives me a boost. I do this 2 times a day.
  • Frozen chocolate dipped banana-freezer bananas that are cut in 1/2. Once frozen for a good 2 hours or so, melt dark chocolate with a tiny amount of oil and dip bananas in mixture. Freeze again for at least 20 minutes.
  • It really depends I think. It's pretty hard for me to get over 3,000 for an entire day and that's a binge for me.
  • You sir have the grocery list of kings!
  • eggs tomatoes avocados salad greens(lettuce, cucumber, radish, bell peppers) salsa guac chicken breast/thigh/leg white rice whole wheat bread cilantro
  • I spend between 400-550$ a month and that feeds me, hubs, 6 year old and 10 month old. I buy rice, lower cost meats, lots of veggies (fresh and frozen), deli meats and sodas. I also buy a couple big containers of baby formula, baby cereals and some jarred foods. These are foods we normally always buy: 20 lb bag white rice…
  • 2 cups rice with unhealthy amount of soy sauce and icewater. Not the healthiest, but carbs and salt def help morning sickness!
  • I do Teriyaki chicken a lot. Just take chicken thighs and a good quality Teryaki sauce and throw into freezer bag. It can be taken out of freezer the night before and thrown in for 6-8 hours when you are ready for it. The chicken thighs stay moist during the cooking process. Potato soup is good: potatoes, chicken broth,…
  • I love low carb because I love to eat fats and veggies. However, I stopped doing it because it meant I could not have a bowl of old fashioned oatmeal or whole wheat pasta on a regular basis.
  • strawberries, bananas, fun lettuce boxes (herb, salad), tomatoes, avocados, jalapeno poppers
