Not exactly sure I'm understanding your question, but I mostly look at "remaining calories," and try to end the day with 200-400 calories left, if I can. If I have a very sedentary day, I'm happy if I only eat 1200 cal. and break even. I may have to consciously eat more if i manage to run more though. Sounds like you're…

You look great! Your judgment right now is totally skewed by your PMS and tiredness. Have a fantastic lunch and if you can, go home and take a nap! You deserve it!

I was having the same problem from May through July, until I finally cut out as much sugar and carbs from my diet as possible: no sodas at home (and only the occasional one while eating out), no alcohol, no candy (except on frozen yogurt), low-sugar cereal in the morning, no pasta or rice. Only drank water. Lots of fiber…

It depends, I guess. I know I'm the kind of person that gets burned out easily. I like doing it just 3x a week so I'm fresh and energized each time, so that way I keep enjoying it. You might try an alternative form of exercise on the other days. You'll still be a runner!

I'm a flute professor. I used to love doing crafts! I'm thinking about getting into making bamboo flutes for fun. That's kinda crafty...

Make sure you stretch! A lot of my foot pain came from plantar's fasciitis, which I was able to mostly get rid of by stretching my calves everyday. When you go to the store to get a shoe suggestion, wear or bring the shoes you've been running in. They can look at the treads for wear to see what's going on (pronation, etc.)

Wanted to see if I could manage to post another picture of my dog.

I've switched from/use less of --skim milk to unsweetened almond milk --margarine or butter to butter spray (works on popcorn too) --much much less cheese! --sour cream to fage yogurt --white pastas/rices to whole wheat For eggs, you can nuke them in a pyrex measuring cup on low power for about 2 minutes (stirring once in…

You can adjust your food report to show sodium intake levels vs. recommended maximums.

Your side hurts? Did you pull a muscle or is it more internal? You shouldn't be in pain...that's not going to help the process. If you strained something in a workout, you should change your routine or even give yourself a day off. If taking a sometime off and/or taking some ibuprofen doesn't help the pain, you should see…

Don't put a social life on hold over your weight. You have a current picture up, right? That's fine! You don't need to put up a full-body pic. If you aren't ready to date for emotional reasons, that should be a separate issue from your weight. But you're ready to go out! Just do it! They don't know what your idea weight…

I can only do this in the summer with white wine, but adding seltzer water makes a nice spritzer. It's a harder balance to strike in the winter months. I do find drinking wine makes me crave more food, so I have to be really careful.

I started back in January and it was really hard in the beginning. I got up to week 6 before I got distracted and I plan to start up again once the academic year ends. I did a full week of just walking while listening to the wk1 podcast. I thought my calves were going to blow up. But by week 3, I'd feel pretty good after…

I think it's technically illegal to stick a note in a US mailbox if hasn't been sent via the post office, too (not that I'm suggesting you call the cops or anthing). I had a "would be" stalker in my neighborhood once. Similar situation: going through a divorce and looking for company. He turned up practically on my…

I think your GF should talk with a therapist. I can't imagine that being underweight with 4% bodyfat is unattractive (my body fat is something scary, like 30%) or even particularly detrimental to a runner. I suspect there are lingering emotional issues from her trauma...? If she won't see a therapist for the emotional…
