Are the diet and exercise new? Changes can lead to water retention or changes in bowel movements. If female, are you in a different point in your cycle? Did you eat more salt, sugar or carbs than usual recently? How accurate is your calorie counting? Are you weighing your food? Weight loss is not linear and the reasons for…

But I lost two pounds after an hour in the sauna! Never mind how much I gained back after rehydrating.

What an eye opener it was to realize that the "diet" versions of some of my favorite candies were just smaller portions. Once you adjusted for that they had the same calories, fat and sugar. Well, I can adjust portion size myself and have the real thing, thank you very much!

I find mindfulness and journaling to be useful tools (part of feeling and acknowledging the emotions as the above posters said). And while they aren't always enough, at least when I do turn to food for emotional support, I put in the work to figure out what emotion it was, what triggered that emotion, what might be a…

Also, on the phone, it is easy to hit the disagree without realizing it when you were just trying to scroll down. Basically, as long as disagrees aren't piling up, it is probably not worth thinking about.

I am diabetic, so currently happy that Keto Bars ice cream on a stick exist. Costco sells sea salt caramel, but the mint ones are good, too.

Clearly you like bagels more than pop tarts. I make room for them. Pop tarts specifically are for kayaking days because they fit in the life jacket pocket so well. But I also substitute. Last time we went kayaking, I had oat cakes that were very much like pop tarts, but more fiber, some real fruit and individually…

About ready to kill my roommate for eating dinner and doing things like letting the fork touch the plate. Thinking this might be on me, not her.

The good news is, now is a great time to focus on life long habits, rather than extreme measures to pursue unrealistic goals.

You don't need to be scared of carbs, you just need to find what does and doesn't work for you. It can take some experimentation over time, but knowledge is better than straight fear. My body's ideal diet is somewhere between keto and Mediterranean. I can do keto for awhile, but I am actually happier with a slightly higher…

Yoga with Adrienne is a great program. Please make a patreon donation if you love her. The weight loss comes in the kitchen, the yoga is for overall health, including strength and flexibility!

I mean, any choice impacts my diet, do you mean which one impacts actual weight loss the most? I follow low carb, but don't count carbs on a daily basis. I basically follow a Med Diet style of eating. This keeps me full and makes it more obvious when I am reaching for the foods which I tend to overindulge in (although I…

Socks for dancing, bare feet for everything else.

As to something to ingest, I do like a well flavored fizzy water. I currently have a Costco pack of crystal geyser in the garage. I put one in the fridge when I feel an urge for it. Mostly, I prefer workout gear, though. If I do enough Just Dance 2020 to get sick if it, I get to download Just Dance 2021, so that I don't…

I have both Ring Fit Adventure and Just Dance 2020 for my Switch and use one or the other most days. I do find with both, it helps to keep dancing or jog in place or otherwise keep moving while it switches over. Some songs are more energetic than others, but my husband is much more fit than I and he can get a good workout,…

I was also going to say Fitness Blender. It is an easy way to try out a new type of exercise. Do you like to dance? I google line dance videos for low key, Zumba or similar for really sweating it out.

I once saw a test for this based on how far around your wrist you can wrap your fingers. You will be shocked to learn that the answer to that question fluctuates with weight.
-
Like others, I do it because I prefer it, not for any supposed benefits, except perhaps preventing heartburn. For a long bike ride or hike, I take snacks and/or a sandwich along and have a break, typically when my husband gets hangry, even though he had breakfast.
-
I put my scale under the bed for the month of March and keep my focus on what I am eating and how much I am moving.
-
I make lots of modifications, some that I have been taught do to joint issues, some that came from "No way, uh uh, my body does not move like that." If you do a few Yoga with Adrienne videos, she really emphasizes being realistic and doing your own thing, respecting your own practice. I have never faced judgement from…

Also, the converse of this: that not doing exercise to lose weight because you are focused on "getting healthy" or some such thing first is something to brag about from a health perspective. Worse yet, that you shouldn't do exercise until you have lost the weight :(

My husband eats the same, left to his own devices. As a compromise, he fixes his own breakfast and lunch, and I generally make dinners. If I don't make dinner, he is either having thai curry or pasta. If I am eating the same thing day after day, I have gone back to gorging myself and avoiding veggies. Why am I willing to…

Focus on your habits. If you are eating mostly healthfully, in quantities appropriate for your body and moving plenty, you are addressing the diabetes potential, no matter what the scale says.
-
Eating whole foods will make you lose weight. One of the earliest I saw of this was from the South Beach Diet which claimed that no one would sit down and eat a whole loaf of whole grain bread, the way people do white bread. Wanna bet? If you told me I had to eat a whole loaf of bread, I would chose the whole grain,…

If you are eating healthy and moving more, you are doing the right things for your body, no matter what the scale says. Exercise, water consumption, hormones, fiber or lack thereof...the things that affect weight are legion.

This is my Montague folding mountain bike, supposedly designed for paratroopers. My husband has a slightly different one, mostly because the color is determined by the model, so when I got mine I wanted a different color. Unfortunately, the pretty blue one has a higher stand over height. Once folded, we can fit them in the…

I most certainly do get my heart rate up. Do you continue to jog in between scenes and when you are being given stats? I basically jog whenever I am not actively doing something else. I do wish that there were longer runs available on the custom mode/ mini games, though. I SUCK at squattery wheel, but overall my squats…

Switch Ring Adventure, Just Dance, Yoga by Adrienne, a bike and a canyon to hike in across the street.

Have you ever tried an elimination diet to see how specific foods affect you? My husband found issues in some odd places by doing an elimination diet, and it has made a significant improvement to his health.

All of those things can fit into a weightloss plan. Perhaps not in the same quantities as the weight gain plan, but definitely there. As a diabetic, I eat fairly low carb, so tacos are a rarity. However, lettuce wraps al pastor are just as good as the original. Perhaps moreso, since if I make it at home, I can add more…
