Generally, there are no symptoms, it is discovered through testing. The testing is often done for diabetics on an annual basism However, the reason I had the testing done when I did was because I was complaining about a slight ache in the liver area. Turns out, that is probably due to an unrelated cyst found during my…

It depends who you ask, but for hydration purposes, yes, it all counts. For anything with calories, make sure to track it!

You might rock the bald if you weren't also dragging from the chemo! I thought I was going gray pretty fast and was looking forward to gray and purple. With light brown, I just can't commit to a color, even for a month.

I have even changed my macros goals to be quite different than the default. I still don't hit them exactly. For me, carbs are a maximum, protein a minimum and I couldn't care less about the fat.

I am in a bit different situation. I cut mine off as part of my weight loss journey, just to have a drastic change. It really depends on your face shape and your hair texture. Mine doesn't exactly pixie because it has a mind of its own: one of the most common questions when I first chopped it off was "Did you know you had…

What is your activity level set to? They are only importing what you burn above and beyond that.

Bean salad Nuts Freeze dried veggies Precook rice or quinoa, they keep well and are good room temp. Turkey sticks Canned fish and/or meats Canned vegetables like green beans, beets and spinach can be quite edible at room temp, as well. I bet hummus would keep. Apples and oranges keep well. Broccoli and cauliflower keep…

Reintroduce foods slowly and consciously. You may find an unexpected inflammation trigger in there.

Even the Atkins brand has started advertising themselves as keto.

Even if it had been more than a decade since you were there? They are not required to keep their records THAT long!

We store a lot of estrogen in fat, which gets released when we shed the fat. It should stabilize after your weight stabilizes, but I still think it is worth checking in with your gyn, as they may suggest a different birth control solution for you.

I fight the impatience by keeping my focus on the habits that I will carry forward long after I reach my goal weight.

Chronic pain is miserable and makes people miserable. Good luck in managing it. I gained weight last year as a career when my husband needed to be driven everywhere and then this year when I hurt my back. We moved so my husband doesn't need to drive to work and I have new strategies for feeding myself if my back goes out…

Keep it up!

For one thing, I put an ice pack in my insulated lunch bag, which opens up a lot of possibilities. What have you packed previously? What did she eat all summer? How do you define healthy eating? My nieces and nephews love sashimi and sushi...

I am sure someone will be along shortly to point you to the keto groups, but no matter what you are eating, calories will determine whether or not you lose weight.

I am also 46! I am learning to control diabetes with diet and exercise, so I have a bit more motivation than many. I have a 90 day streak, with many fitness goals ticked off and still going strong. Read the stickies, ask questions when you have them, find non food ways to deal with stress and life, and just keep keeping on.

My blood sugars are normal, I am officially off Metformin (although I actually stopped taking it 2 months ago), my liver tests came back normal and I am only slightly aghast at sharing this:

I was at my heaviest when I was measured as taller! I did almost ask for a recount at my last visit because it feels like the yoga has stretched my spine... Plus, an extra inch would have meant that I was no longer obese.

I am obese and can't lose 14 lbs a month without some kind of extreme thing going on.

I read a study years ago that recommended chocolate milk as the best recovery drink.

I don't read their articles, which are often ads, and designed to look like the ads even when they aren't! As for keto and kidneys, the science is still out if you don't already have kidney issues. I worry more about the lack of fiber in the long term.

Mine was the opposite. A health screening had me at 5'6, a couple of months later the doctor's office measured me at 5'5. I have been 5'4 since I was 10. Even my mother was in shock.

The point of the gastric bypass is to control hunger AND to make your stomach physically smaller, requiring you to eat small quantities. How does that work with OMAD?? I am not a doctor, but it seems like a downright dangerous combination!

Are you tracking your calories?

Mahi mahi with ghee, lime and capers. Served with kale chips, whatever vegetable I have in the fridge and a sweet potato for hubby, who needs far more calories than I do.

I lose five pounds at a time, over and over again. It is less daunting that way. I focus on what I can eat, rather than what I can't eat. I try new things regularly. I make sure I have lunch and/or snacks with me so there is no excuse to stop for fast food when I am running errands. Nothing against fast food, it is just…

I have found a handful of treats that are satisfying but for one reason or another one is enough. For example, I won't binge on Fiber One treats because I am afraid of what they will do to me. Currently though, my go tos are keto fat bombs (these are 2 parts almond butter to one part each cocoa powder and coconut oil with…

So many of us have been there and are back here again! I cannot count how many times. Just in the last year and a half, I have lost and regained 20 lbs 3 times, which is a brand new record of sadness for me :( However, trying is better than giving up and I am now at the lightest I have been in a decade and going strong.…

Why are you eliminating added sugars? What is your definition of low carb? Only your own reasons will determine the answers to the rest of your questions.
