It's seriously on their menu under vegetables. I'm trying to get the image online right now.

They have nutrition info at the restaurants. I'm gluten free (they have gf pasta! woop!) and I asked for their menu and in the same pamphlet is their nutrition information. Just ask for that and go from there. It should also be on their website, I'd imagine. They do have some decent meals like the apricot chicken. I think…

I usually see myself as the most nasty fat thing ever. It's pretty awful, honestly. It's taken me a lot of work to not stare at the mirror and point out all my flaws. The crappy thing is, I'll feel good about myself until I look in the mirror and see otherwise. I wish I could view myself as my thinner self more often, but…

I always tell people to avoid Depo. I had a HORRRRRRRIBLE experience with it. Perhaps I'm just lucky in that respect... heavy spotting for 6+ months (started after my 2nd or 3rd dose). And the best side effect: raging b!tch. Like throwing things across rooms b!tch. There are IUDs similar to Mirena that don't use hormones…

I hated pills. I even tried the low hormone ones and had issues. I switched to the ring after about 4mos on the pill due to nausea and simply forgetting about the stupid pills. The ring is low hormone and I find easier to deal with. I've really had no side effects from it. I had been on Elesse before I went to the ring. It…

One great and free way to start is to google your local extension office (sometimes called agricultural extension office). They usually offer canning classes so you can learn in person how to do things safely. Of course online there are some awesome resources from various places. I would generally stick to things…

Letstrythisagain - see if this link will help you: http://www.uga.edu/nchfp/publications/uga/uga_can_tom.pdf And welcome new folks! I'm always excited to see new people wanting to join in! :)

It depends on your altitude and usually what size jars you are using. Pints take a few minutes less than quarts. It's generally around 15-20minutes once the water has reached a FULL boil, but you MUST check for your area and recipe. University of Georgia has some info for canning. I know I had posted some links in this…

Oooh! You remembered this thread! I'm so happy! I've been a bit slackerish with the canning this year. I just haven't had the same urge for effort - perhaps because it was so hot here this summer I didn't want to go to the farmers' market as often. hehe I am planning an applesauce factory this fall, though.

I do, but this is also the internet. And, there was that wonderful study that came out talking about women playing dumb. Since I don't know you, I have no way of knowing what your intent is with this post. Plus, you obviously didn't get my sarcasm either.

Did this girl not know how to utilize things like Google to find information she was lacking? Does she not know how to find information on her own, so that she doesn't have to rely on "guru"? Sorry you lost your buddy, but you should be able to learn things by finding information on your own and not have to ask other…

I can't eat too many eggs. It makes me want to gag sometimes...but I think it's because I ate a bunch of eggs back in the day when I did Atkins and SoBe. Just got sick of eating eggs. I had to eat them with bread for a little bit...and now I can only eat like 2 scrambled eggs per month. *shrug*

yep, huge calves here too. I can only get certain cuts of jeans...no boots. I hate it. My mom is similar. Even when we had been thinner, our calves have been big. Just genetic. You can work on reducing body fat. But, your body will store fat where it wants to. And you might want to be leery of doing things that will build…

I guess there are a couple ways to deal with the holiday food celebration. Some people allow themselves some of the less healthy foods as a "treat." I've been one in this camp...I've said it a number of times: Bday cals don't count. haha I think a better way might be to keep in line with your new food philosophy. I used to…

Prior to me figuring out the wheat thing, I thought I had a lactose intolerance issue. Once I went gf, I can have regular dairy again. The lactose intolerance can be 2ndary to the gluten sensitivity/Celiacs. And I TOTALLY understand your plight. I had a friend once tell me, after I said I was afraid to go out, "Don't let…

I was going to suggest something similar. I had no idea I had gluten issues until I started looking at the symptoms. I've always had a naughty tummy, but it went away once I went gluten free. Lactose could be a related issue. IBS can also be irritated by wheat. From what I've heard about the gallbladder thing and fatty…

No, nothing to do with strength. He's just defective. haha For whatever reason, his body doesn't let him separate his toes. He can't cross his eyes either.
-
I agree with MrPhil here. It's simply locomoting naturally. You wouldn't need all those fittings if traditional shoes didn't change the physics of how we walk in them. ESVABelle, not true. I don't have perfect toes. They work fabulous on my feet.
-
Oh! I thought of one other thing to consider - which is also supporting going to a store to try them on first! Can you separate your toes? If you can't, then you might not want a pair that covers the top of your foot. For example, my bf can't spread his toes so he has to use his fingers to do it. In the full coverage shoe,…

I love my Vibrams. They have some different styles that are intended for different activities. Like there are ones that are more indoor type (like suedish with just a couple pads on the sole) and then there are the water ones. I have two pairs. The one in my avatar (Sprint, I think was their name) and then I have a pair of…

It sucks to see a friend go through tough times. And it can be difficult to understand why they are doing it. I can't really tell you any magical thing to make it better. I know I had to find my ED and treatment myself. Even when one of my counselors put me in an ED group, it didn't click. It took my own recognition of the…

I can't work out on an empty stomach. If I am even slightly hungry before I start working out, I will be ravenous after, and most likely nauseated as well. I also found that for me working out first thing in the morning, I'm not hydrated enough to really be able to push myself. When I had tried working out before work, I…

Thanks for sharing... but I can't even see the smileys...at least when I looked at this thread, it was just the red X for the image. When I quoted I could see the image finally. This is so messed up! What's up with MFP? Are they changing some of the programming or something? This isn't the first thing to be messed up. A…

Ha! Love it!

When I was low carbing it 20-40g/day, I felt awesome. I had a ton of energy and I wasn't hungry all the time. Like someone else said, it's from the protein, but also from the higher amount of fats you are probably eating as well. You can actually end up eating more cals on a low carb diet and still lose weight. I…

I read the title of the thread and I read it as Runt-astic...like a fun way to say you're proud to be short or small. hahaha I should go to bed. Sorry to be off topic. Just had to share my insanity at the moment.

It's all good. Just emphasizing that it's not exactly in the realm of physician for the solution. It's crazy how much food you get out! I was just having that discussion with my bf @ breakfast. Like McD's kids' fry is what they gave adults back in the 50s. But we now feed that to children?! It's maddening. Which brings…

Shoot...that probably is her day-before-Csection-and-tummytuck weight.

And doctors don't get sufficient nutritional education in medical school. So, how about some medical education reform? Doctors also are supposed to go according to the food pyramid, which many debate it's validity. Harvard even came up with their own! We can't pin weight issues on physicians when it's a social issue.…
-
Ahh. I understand. But I hope you realize that there's more than just anorexics in the ED category... And as for your thread topic, I think it's more than a doctor. It's about social pressures. There's a large distrust of the American physician of late. There are a lot of people who think they are smarter than their…
