Glad to help! :)

I already addressed the dilution issue in my first post - scroll up. But your comment isn't along those lines. Your comment is saying that you think that it's like water with an extra oxygen. That just isn't the case. It is NOT like water.
-
Sorry to add an extra post, but here's a warning letter from the FDA about the 35%: http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2006/ucm076002.htm
-
That extra oxygen also changes some things in it's reactivity. In chemistry, things aren't usually a case of "just an extra" added to it. Careful what you assume. ;)

Alrighty, well, first, a drop of 35% into a glass of water isn't that strong (need I do the dilution calculations?)...so I wouldn't expect much of a reaction. But drinking the straight 35% is nasty, simply nasty and irresponsible. The stuff we buy in the brown bottles at WalGreen's is 10% or less. Anyway, sharing the…

Exactly! I don't get why people are getting so angered by this. It was an article that she was sharing! If you want to drink diet soda that's fine, but don't get mad at someone for sharing information. There's also info out there about the acids in drinks that dissolve the enamel on your teeth and adds to the leaching of…

I had a lady ask me if I was preggers when I was in college (maybe it was more like "when are you due?"). I was wearing these slacks that had a bit extra in the belly/crotch area and I was leaning over washing my hands. She was rather embarassed when I said I wasn't pregnant and I doubt she'll ask someone she doesn't know…

That gives me another idea, I think some of the flavored coffees affect the amount of sugar I use - like a vanilla coffee I don't really need much sugar, but a dark roast (like French) I need more sugar. OP, have you tried different flavors or roasts along with your sweetner testing to see if that helps at all? You might…

Truvia has added stuff to it, so it's not pure stevia. FYI. http://www.truvia.com/about/ingredients/

I, too, have gone for a more natural approach to my diet and understand the frustration with the sugar counts. I'll tell you this, one thing I had done at one point to help me wean me down was increase the cream in my coffee for a little while until I got used to less sugar. It takes time to not want lots of sugar, to…

Carbs can increase weight, so sugar, bread, etc. can show up just from the bloat with water to carry the glucose around. I'll share a cheat I used to do (and I'm not saying we should cheat!) When I had been doing Atkins, I would eat a bit of sugar free candy because it really, uhm, cleaned me out. So the next morning I…

Sorry for the tangent OP. One thing to ponder is how far are you letting yourself "cool down" before jogging again. Both programs that I mentioned are based on intervals and slowly increasing the interval you run. I'm not an expert, but you may be letting yourself catch up a little bit more than might be necessary, so the…

Have you checked out Couch2 5k (or something close to that)? I know Runner's World has a similar training program. That might help you out. I haven't tried it specifically, but I know people who that worked for. If you were able to walk it in 36mins, I think you should be able to shave some time off of that by 7/4
-
I so can't run. Never have been able to - almost like my body was designed specifically not to. Guess I'm screwed. haha

Aportillo, that definitely helps me see what kind of things to expect. I talked to a chef yesterday and I am going to go speak with another one today. The chef yesterday had good things to say about the cc and was a little dismayed looking when I mentioned AI. Hopefully I can start figuring out places that I might be able…

Ooh! Yea a person in HR. I've been wondering where I would fit in after all this. Assuming best case senario of 2 years experience and the associates, what would your company generally say a person would be classified as? I'm curious what is really required for different levels.
-
That makes a lot of sense. The more I've been thinking about it, the funnier the stuff was the admissions guy had told me. Like he couldn't tell me much about graduates from this particular school, but told me the accolades of a few students from other campuses. As more of what he said has sunk in, I've gotten a bit more…

Kayleigh, that's my same fear with the finances. It's one of the AI schools here (don't want anyone think I'm knocking them). The price is crazy for an associate's. My master's was cheaper! I'm glad you found a great place to learn. :) The CC may be the wise choice.
-
Thanks! I'm sure what I need to do is just get out and talk to people. I think I'm just scared of looking like a fool since I'm so new to this. And I know experience is what will ultimately matter, so regardless of school if I suck in the kitchen I won't get anywhere. I know for sure the CC has 2 x 300hr internships that…

Drizzled with EVOO or canola oil, fresh black pepper, sea salt, garlic and onion powder. Roast in oven (I do 350F for about 10min depending on the thickness of the stalk). Then nom. I also use it in stir fries. Spring is asparagus season, so check out your local farmer's market for the best asparagus - not the picked and…

Not to sound callus, but you signed up on here and presumably put in the correct bio info for yourself. MFP calculates the amount you should eat per day, so why is there a question? This site is pretty straightforward. :) Now the question of what to eat I can understand. PS- if you are curious about the random skew from…

There are naturally decaf teas. Not all are chemically molested to be decaf. Anyway, I was just reporting the results of what had been found - caffeine isn't the part of the coffee or tea that's healthful. :) And caffeine does have other side effects than the addiction, like increased heart rate which isn't great for…

It seems rather scant, especially with that workout. Try adding in some snacks with veggies, low sugar fruits (like berries), and nuts. You could add some oatmeal to breakfast, for example. Greek yogurt. You also should probably add a bit more water daily as well - I'm sure you sweated a lot with the bike ride.
-
Look for the dried fruit without added sugar. That's the biggest problem - companies add unnecessary sugar to the dried fruits. There are sugar free ones (and I don't mean fake sugar added). Maybe you can find them at a health food store if your regular store doesn't have them.
-
It's the antioxidants and whatever else in the tea and coffee that are good for you. Studies had tried to see if it was the caffeine, but they found that the tea and coffee were good for you regardless of the caffeine (as in they had groups on caffeinated and decaf drinks). So, yes, tea and coffee are good things, not…

I know this is an older thread, but I just wanted to chime in, in case someone happens to search and find this. I have also heard the nasty things about teflon and aluminum (like not using tomatoes in it). Anyway, just to let people know, stainless steel is non-stick. If you have an issue with things sticking, it's over…

Welcome to the addiction to caffeine! I had to wean myself off of it. Now I only allow myself one caffeinated beverage per day...no longer a regular caffeine person. But I do love coffee!
-
I'd bet on the side of it having something to do with the increased blood pressure when doing cardio. And, as long as it isn't harmful, I'd be a little happy so I don't hear the guys in the free weights showing off who have screaming orgasms when lifting.

I love walnuts and almonds. Macadamias...brazilnuts...dried cherries (low sugar)...apricots... If you have a Trader Joe's near you, go to the area of the store where they have bags of nuts and dried fruits, you can have sooooo much fun by just grabbing some random bags. Like dried peaches! You can put together whatever you…

1. It's still liquid, so it hasn't set yet. 2. They aren't a business. Unless you want to call the gov't a business....sometimes I think they are! 3. Because we all love food. 4. They're afraid of enclosed areas. 5. Ask Hannibal Lecter. 6. You are wearing the wrong clothes. Hope that helps!
