  • Wear it on your non dominant wrist, but set it for dominant on the website. This will give you a more accurate count. I had the same problem with my flex. ✌
  • Good job scoobydoo! What is yur daily calorie goal? I have lost another pound eating at 1250 net.
  • I would keep the communication going with your Dr. and ask about Armour, a natural thyroid medication that works for many. I take Levo, and have none of the side effects that you mention. You may have an allergy to the fillers in the medication, but I am not a Dr. and am just guessing. Good luck, and keep us posted!
  • Update: I just received an email stating that they are shipping an entirely new set up. Yay???? Free of any charge. Hopefully the new one will last a long time.
  • I purchased a flex 2 1/2 months ago. Loved it until it stopped working! Now, trying to deal with customer service is making me feel like I don't want to own one again. They only send computer generated replies and today even after I sent them pictures (twice!) of the receipt, the flex, the box it came in and a detailed…
  • Hi 44scooby! My Dr. told me yesterday that I will have my lab work done again in 6 months, but meanwhile, if I feel bad to call him. I actually feel ok. I am just still losing hair and not losing weight. Maintaining, yes. I was on warfarin, and just got off of it yesterday, so I am hoping that will help. It tends to make…
  • This is what I went through too. Can I ask what meds you are on and which one? I am on a low dose of levo. Only 50mcg.
  • Ditto!!!???? I ???? my flex!
  • I would love a reset button! It is very frustrating and exhausting having thyroid issues and the most frustrating thing for me have been the Drs who use only lab results for diagnoses! Errgh! I had RAI due to thyroid storm. I am actually lucky to be alive! ???? The RAI did not totally kill off my thyroid. But it did drop…
  • If they put you on Inderall your heart palps should stop or at least get better. Ask if you can take it at night time as it might help you sleep too! Don't ever rush into anything such as RAI without second opinions. That is my best advice. Find a good endocrinologist. ✌
  • I am at 1200 too. I do eat some or all of my activity burns though. I use a fitbit, and for instance yesterday I was very active and ate almost 1700 with a net of 1179. I am not losing a lot this way but not gaining either! I know if I just ate 1200 (and netting 800-900) calories everyday I would lose more but I like to…
  • That is so inspiring to hear! Great job. ???? I have been fortunate that so far I have only gained around 10 pounds, which ironically is exactly what my Dr. told me people should gain going from hyper to hypo. I know that others have gained more, and I am lucky to have caught it early enough. Although it will be a lifelong…
  • I was diagnosed with hyper T in 2004. I was put on both anti-thyroid meds, at different times, and was allergic to both. I was treated with a beta blocker (Inderal) for many years. I finally had to get my thyroid ablated with RAI and now I am hypo. Hopefully, your hyper can be treated with medication. Are you having heart…
  • Hi shonda- I keep my carbs in the 70-100 gram range everyday, so it's not a total low carb diet. I just found (through tracking on this site) that I was ingesting WAY too many carbs. Upwards of 250-280 a day! I see good results from cutting those down. I have heard some have had good results on a very low carb diet (VLC)…
  • Your fitbit will log your steps, so if you also put in zumba, that is like double dipping. Take your fitbit off when you do your zumba, and then log zumba into mfp.. It will then (if synced correctly) also add it to your fit bit. Someone may come along and correct this. lol.
  • I had labs done today and TSH is still 0.02 but T4 has gone from 0.04 to 1.10. T3 is in normal range. I am only on .025 MCG of Levo. I doubt my dose will get increased even with the hair loss because now I am in the normal range. I hope I don't go bald waiting for everything to settle down. At least I feel better…
  • This ^ because there could be another health issue going on besides thyroid! Swollen feet and ankles could mean a lot of different things and your Dr. should be checking those out! I feel for you. I am in the process of trying to train my Dr. too. It is so frustrating, I know. ???? hugs.
  • I just began levothyroxine about 6 weeks ago. I am on a very low dose - .05mcg. I am losing hair like crazy! It is a side effect of the drug. I have read about it. When I was hyperthyroid I took anti thyroid meds. Same thing! Loss of hair by the handfuls. I hate it but what can we do? Are you also on T3? I am hoping to get…
  • Does your protein shake have calcium in it? I was told not to ingest ANY calcium for 4 hours after taking the Levothyroxine . I would assume this means 4 hours prior as well. It's just a thought. Edit to add: I have found some weight loss help (and stalling the gain) with a low carb diet.
  • I have been taking mine at my middle of the night (3-4a), but this morning I woke up and my pill was still there on the nightstand! ???? So I took it with my coffee. I don't think one day will be detrimental, but I might start taking it before I go to bed if this happens again! I have to have my coffee before I do anything…

  • Hi! Congrats on your weight loss! I haven't smoked a cigarette in 7 months (today! Yay) and I smoked for 30 years. I tried to quit many, many times. For me what worked was harm reduction. I switched to an ecig. Not the kind you buy over the counter but one you can fill yourself with whatever level of nicotine you want. And…
  • Ashleigh, you are right where I was at about a month ago. When I went to go see my doctor he put me on a very low dose of synthroid and it seems to have helped a little bit with the symptoms of depression and achiness. I am still struggling with my weight but it's not quite so hard. I'm not gaining a half pound a day or…
  • But the one counts flights of stairs! Flex doesn't. It must be the jostling in the car that makes it count steps in the car ride.
  • This ^ and I set both to sedentary. I have the flex set it to "dominant" hand and wear it on my non dominant. This way it isn't as sensitive and won't over count. I do not get extra steps from armnmovement or from driving. If you go on the website look under "food" and you can set the fitbit to "sedentary". I am very…
  • My Doctor took me off of a beta-blocker last week. (I still take an ARB and ACE) and since then, have dropped a pound. He says that I should not have to eat less than 1500 calories a day considering I am careful to get at least 10k steps in a day. My HR was at 60, but now it is at a more normal 80. I have more energy…
  • When weighing my kettle corn or kashi cereal, if a few peices hit the counter, i eat them. Also, hummus- whatever sticks to the spoon is log-free!
  • This ↑ I eat 1400-1500 after activity, with a net of 1200. I am maintaining right now with hypothyroidism. Not everyone is the same!
  • My Fitbit goals are set to steps. I have 10k steps set,.which I always exceed by 1-3k.
