  • I'm half way through lent now. Only three weeks and 2 days left. Went out with the boyf last weekend and didn't touch a drop. He on the other hand polished off a bottle of white wine (he did this *for me* apparently cos I don't like white!!!) and a couple of whiskeys! Loved the attention I got! Going for a couple of…
  • It was simply my time
  • I have noticed I think about it much less! Hardly at all. last night however I went to get some water and my wine glass was just staring at me all sad! It looked so unused, I actually felt a twinge for a moment. But I am persisting. I'm one one week away from being half way through! Everyone is doing fab! It's great how…
  • I'm doing the one in Bolton again this year. I have always walked it with my mum who survived cancer. This year she is bowing out so I've said I will run it. Very nervous because I want to run it more than anything! I have started training and get on the treadmill 3 times a week doing half hour to an hour. BerryH is the…
  • your diary isn't open. It's under settings I seem to recall. Let's have a look and see. I think a lb a week is great! I know how you feel though, when you feel you have a lot to lose I assume I will lose it quicker at a rate of 2lbs a week. I swear by a few things. (Disclaimer alert; this is me, not what you SHOULD do blah…
  • two weeks in!!!! Definitely craving sweets and chocolate, but anything has got to be better than "needing" a bottle of wine at 500 calories right?!
  • Chrissie, Try and lower your salt levels this week to 1500 and see what that does and drink lots of water. I'm not saying this will sort it but I find I don't lose when I've eaten a lot of salt. I've lost 46lbs and I have been where you are now. It's worth a try.
  • ^^ I'm with this as well. That is all.
  • I think this can be a massive demotivator. When I first started I was consistent but 8 months later one week I lost three pounds the next nothing but I wasn't doing anything different. Weight does not know Monday to Sunday or weekdays and hours. A woman especially can fluctuate like crazy. I say to the OP don't feel down…
  • I'm day 12 down for lent 35 to go! That is all :drinker:
  • I think sticking to 1200-1500 calories a day, less sodium, keep drinking lots of water and you'll lose. Weight loss isn't consistent every week. Some weeks you'll lose two pounds other weeks none maybe. You're doing fabulous, just gotta keep at it! Well done so far! And like a previous poster said a lb is a lb. Go weigh…
  • After a steady loss for 8 months I reached a three month plateau. It sounds daft but I got a bout of food poisoning (I do not recommend this) but it did shock my body and I started losing again after. I say eat the dim sum, relax a bit and shock your body into changing. I definitely think the body starts to adapt to the…
  • no then in my humble opinion
  • Do you not like Green tea? I love it, get through 4-8 cups a day. For me it's more the water content I'm getting. I think with 4 separate servings you're gaining the benefits of all the extra water. Strongly brewed green tea doesn't taste nice to me so I wouldn't drink it if it were too strong. If you don't like Green Tea…
  • Use the force. Set small goals and visualise. Draw up on a piece of paper you and the you, you would like to see in 3 months time. What do you look like? How is everyone reacting to you? What are you wearing? This is what I did when I was 210lbs. I visualised myself at 182. It worked. Now I visualise myself at 154. It's…
  • this is nice. Some of my "virtual" friends are going through some tough times at the moment and I think it's really important to be there for them and post encouraging thoughts and messages. This site is great for losing weight but it's when the tough times hit that I think this site really comes into force. I…
  • Know exactly where you're coming from! You officially rock!!! Well done!
  • I'm saying nothing.
  • I say YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I made THE decision almost a year ago. (April 12th to be exact) and have never looked back! I am so glad I made that decision that day and started my lifestyle change then! So good for you to make the decision. It is better to make a decision than to keep stagnant wondering should I could I would I!…
  • I remember once, my brother and I bought intergalatica soda cordial type stuff. He had the blue, and I had the green one. One day he came running down the stairs crying and shouting "I have blue poo, I have blue poo" I remember laughing so hard until I realised..... So yeah I have had green poo before but not for the same…
  • please don't shoot me but.... Everyone says it's not easy to lose weight and that if it was everyone would be doing it I disagree. I've been doing this almost a year and in my humble opinion I would say I have found Atkins, starvation, liquid diets, cabbage soup diet and god knows what else I have tried harder. I find this…
  • I wouldn't mind at all. In fact he went once and sat me down and looked all guilty and said he was really sorry he had been to a lap dancing place for someones leaving do. I actually laughed and asked why he felt guilty and in his past relationships he hadn't been allowed to go out, god forbid if he went to a "girlie"…
  • you look amazing, think your wedding picture is awesome. You look so beautiful and happy! Can't believe the difference 75lbs makes! Well done!
  • Opal24 you are such an inspiration! It is actually like you are our guinea pig. Letting you try it for us before we sign up for it lol! I've given up alcohol for lent. I did say at the start it was just wine, but I thought let's see if I can do 46 (yep not 40, lent is 46) days of not drinking at all. At the beginning I was…
  • In England on Monday evening there was a panorama special talking about wine drinking in middle class and how it's no longer the working class that have the drink problems it's working professionals. 95% of drinkers drink at home, and it's usually a glass of wine whilst making diner then three or four whilst relaxing in…
  • Hell yeah to Middlebrook! who's up for meeting up at Middlebrook one day? :drinker:
  • omg!!! So that's what it was! When I gave up for those two weeks, I craved chocolate, and when I go without wine for a bit now, I crave it, thought I was pregnant for a moment!! ha ha
  • part of me wants to say "oh it was alright when I was the fat unattractive one but now you are it's a totally different story isn't it!" grrrrrr *shakes angry fist* But I am a better person than that so..... I agree with the above posters, cut loose and find friends that will cheer you on in that race, pick you up when you…
  • I think you'd be good as a coach for newbie runners. Or holding a runners club. You definitely know your stuff when it comes to those exercise shy and those who would love to run but have no idea where or how to start!
  • but see that's what I am saying, I feel I have actually accomplished something, and ok it was a choice that got me here, but I actually am grateful for the choices I have made because they have brought me to where I am now. I have a massive support network that most I have never met, I eat healthily and think of the future…
