I agree with one of the above posters, what if someone said oh you look like you have lost weight and you weren't even trying, then women being women would be like oh you think I need to lose weight or you saying I was fat etc. It's a whole can of worms waiting to be opened. You have done a fantastic job and it was only…

ehrn I first got on my cross trainer I was struggling to do ten mins but added a minute on every time. I'd stick with 15 mins and see how you injury goes with that and build.

prawns?? or shrimp? I could just eat a pack of them as a snack, not that high in calories and very high in protein

Hi! I'm from Bolton. All I know about protein is it fills me up ha ha!! Been doing this since April, had a month break recently but I'm back on it now. Friend me if you like

love love love these suggestions. I am the biggest fan of extra light philidelphia. or philideplpha with herbs or black pepper. It's like a creamy cheesy sauce but better for you! It's basically low fat, low cal soft cream cheese spread. Yummy!!! I use a little bit of chilli oil or schwartz spices. Loving the chorizo idea,…

ready made food and take out contains loads of sodium. Make sure you are drinking tonnes of water, and I mean tonnes. You can lose 2-3 lbs from water weight alone! most importantly don't give up!!! I'm six months into my journey and I'm going through one of my many phases of can't be bothered but in those six months I've…

ha ha thumb indent is when you seperate your fingers and stretch your hand out you can see an indent running down from your thumb, Everyone has one but I didn't. It's the two tendons that run from your thumb. :0)

I went coffee free about 6 months ago. I drink green tea instead, it makes me feel much more fresh and alert instead of coffee which made me feel "buzzy" in the head and gave me the a false sense of alertness!!! Love me green tea!!

this is weird, I was just trying on my ball dress that I bought when I first started my journey and it is way to big for me now. That's six months work right there!!! Plus I'm wearing a new top I bought last week UK size 16 and it is actually baggy. I also woke up today in a fantastic mood as it is SUNNY here in Manchester…

thumb indent - all my friends on mfp know this about me! I've always wanted the indent below my thumb and now I have one. I started off at 212lbs, and it is the little things that make you smile, like chaffing has gone, I have one chin, I can cross my legs properly. I'm so glad I found MFP. I've not looked back once and…

if you don't mind me asking what are your stats? I started in April at 212lbs and I've tried to stick to 1200 calories. I also drink a helluva lot of water and have cut my salt intake drastically. I find omelettes and protein make me full. It takes time to get into a pattern but keep at it. You've made the right decision…

if you bite it write it!!! Sometimes, you may think something is healthy eg. nuts, then find out you can be overeating on that particular food and going <300 calories over allowance AND YES ALCOHOL NEEDS TO BE COUNTED TO - bah humbug!

love this ^^ My scales decided to go mental and have been using mechanical and the mental ones. Been going down consistently but wildly out from where I thought I was. Now I got better scales and all of a sudden I'm back on track and have lost all along but now it's right! If you know what I mean!

omg this is what I'm striving for, I'm literally 5-7 lbs away!!!! I'm so excited! Well done!!! Massive achievement!

I think because this is a lifestyle change and not a diet, situations are going to crop up in life, where you go out and you want to have what you want and I think it's healthy to think well if I exercise for so long I can eat this guilt free. Before I made this lifestyle change I just ate what I wanted just because I…

huh? I'm not sure I understand this statement. I don't think it is a case of simply quitting cold turkey. I can definitely tell those who have (God forbid I say this!) vices and those who don't.

ooops, I feel I have put myself on the line a little bit now! Too much honesty ha ha!! There I was thinking thank God it's not just me and someone else is a little worried but then you go and say you don't even drink every night and you have managed to cut back! Damn you ha ha! Well done for recognising where you are at…

I think I'm really lucky then with my friends because God Forbid if I complete my diary at a 1000 calories! I get at least 10 comments saying I need more food, not enough protein etc. My friends are fab and the ones that do comment on my diary I know actually look at it and analyse it and I do the same back. I did see…

Like!!!! Would anyone be interested in a support group on here, make each of us a little more accountable for what and how much we drink? Or is it still a little taboo for people? I know I could certainly do with a whoop whoop from fellow wine lovers when I've gone a week without a drop!

I don't make a habit of opposing someone's view without really trying to see their side, but I do think this post is a little... unforgiving and simple. A lot of people on here are overweight. If it was just as simple as moderation then this site wouldn't be as successful as it was. A lot of people smoke, do drugs,…

I used to work 80-90 hours a week and when I got home I'd drink 1//2 a bottle to a bottle of red wine a night, nearer the bottle. Then it stopped working effectively and I started opening a new one. I found it helped me sleep and cope with work better. What I didn't realised I was slowly gaining a dependence on it. I…

This is an interesting viewpoint that I wouldn't have thought of but does make some sense. I have just listened to the radio show and I think people think it's easy to just stop eating and that will cure obesity but often people have underlying stress. People are working longer hours, way longer than European countries,…

After much research into this!! I have discovered tea with two sugars and a jacket potato with cream cheese and some meat cures my need for stodgy food and the sweetened tea gives me that boost I need. I've tried coke, orange juice, lucozade, red bull, coffee. And I tell ya, it ain't a nice combination ha ha! I understand…

This is actually really awesome, I get bored with my breakfast ideas and worry about having non conventional stuff. Definitely will try the banana in a titillating with peanut butter that sounds delish!!! Thanks for posting :-)

I'm down to 174 this week from 175 last week. I haven't been that good at daily challenges but I have done at least 20 mins on my elliptical every day, so for me that's brilliant!!!! I've exercised everyday this week and I usually only exercise three times a week. I've also not touched a drop of alcohol for a week and kept…
