  • @jennypapage - I had the same experience (and I need to update my profile pic to reflect this). For those unhappy with their current cup size, my advice is to keep losing if you can manage it and it's still healthy for you to keep losing.
  • You certainly have a way with words @goal060821. I love the way you explained all of that.
  • @WaterLily82 - Waterparks for sure! I was always too afraid to go down a tube slide for fear that I would get stuck, al a Homer Simpson in the "Splash Mountain" episode. But the open slides were just as scary - the more you weigh, the faster you go. Love your reasons. Keep them coming.
  • @JNettie73 - that sounds like a truly mortifying situation. Regarding, how to handle, I mean, let's hope that never happens again, but if it does - perhaps just own it. Say to the child," I have a big belly because I am have too much fat, and I am trying to make it smaller" Then you could also correct the behavior by…

  • Such wonderful, heartfelt and thought provoking posts! Thank you so much for sharing. One thing I that helped me on this current (and sustained) weight loss journey was learning to love and appreciate my imperfect body at every size. I think self acceptance and self love is so important to healing our bodies and our minds.…

  • @girlinkaz - Wow! What a difference 25 pounds makes! Nice work. Regarding goal weight - for me it's been a moving target. I originally started out with a goal of 185 because that would be 100 pounds lost, then as I neared it, I thought I would shoot for 175 - the weight I was when I got married. So, I hit 175 last June and…
  • My concern is what happens when you stop taking the drug? I think most of us have lost and regained at least once because we stopped doing the things that helped us lose weight in the first place. After a several weight loss attempts followed by regains, I finally came to the conclusion that I would never do anything to…
  • @kali31337 - I understand exactly how you feel. Even now, having with so miles of running under my belt, most days I hate it for the first mile. I'm sore, it's hard, I feel slow. But then the next mile I'm all warmed up, my joints don't hurt anymore and it's just the best thing ever.
  • Ha Ha! It works! I flagged a post as Spam, was only the 2nd flagger. Went to their message board stats to find all their spammy postings and flagged those as well. When I was done, the user had been banned. So gratifying. User Community 1, Spam Bot 0.
  • @GregInORL - I'm so impressed! I can't imagine packing that much running in one week's time. I'm happy when I get 20 miles in.
  • @sarahelton87 - and you are not alone so long as you check in here for support. I've been posting on this monthly thread for 20 months and I can say that it's been a huge factor in my success so far. You can do this!
  • @wonderingfab- the transition to maintenance is certainly a challenge, and I think harder than eating at a deficit. I've kind of come to terms with the fact that as far as the day to day routine, I do best when I do the exact same thing I did while dieting (logging faithfully, advance planning my meals, paying attention to…
  • @goal06082021 - these were Costco sized cookies! The organization wanted large cookies because for a lot of these folks, this could be the one decent meal they are getting all week. So they want them to be extra special. And they were. I put the recipes in MFP. The Chocolate Chocolate chip one was 309 for one cookie and…

  • Hi there everyone! Thank you @RavenStCloud for keeping us going. So, I've decided to intentionally lose another 5 pounds and get my average weight to 155. I'm setting my deficit at just a 1/2 pound per week, so progress is going to be slow, but that's okay. Name: Jane Age: 55 Height: 5' 9" SW: 286.5 (6/3/19) GW: 155!…
  • @misplacedmama - really helpful post! Good insights too. Especially the last line, "I only fail if I give up". Here's another helpful post that links to a google doc spreadsheet that can help you calculate your TDEE and track it over time to see if the prediction is close to accurate:…
  • @ladychr0nic - there is certainly a debate over whether to eat back your exercise calories. This is my stance on it: after letting Fitbit track my calories for the last 18 months, I can say that it is pretty accurate at predicting my burn. I keep my weight up to date in Fitbit and it has a heart monitor, which improves…
  • Closing out the month - March just flew by! Name: Jane Age: 55 Height: 5' 9" SW: 286.5 (6/3/19) GW: Maintenance below 165 Weight tracking: Mar 1: 164.3 😯 - Went off the rails this weekend. • @sarah12277 - buffets are difficult for me too. The worst part is that most of them aren't even very good! And yet, we feel like we have to "get our money's worth" and we end up overeating. First thing to do is get over the mindset about getting your money's worth. Think of the cost as the price of admission to the social…

  • And @bmeadows380 I missed your update from last week. I'm sorry to hear that your fiancé won't be able to keep his job, but at least this means you get to be married sooner! So very excited for you. And of course we'll be expecting wedding pictures! Really happy for you both.
