I'm an outlier (on the overweight end) and struggle to get in the normal range unless I'm very lean and low on muscle mass and I don't lift or exercise regularly. Im short for a man and even my ridiculously skinny man legs don't seem to be able to counteract a large chest/rib cage. Unfortunately the square in the equation…

I taught my girlfriend to ride in her 30s. Takes some time as I think the fear of falling is higher as an adult. Keep the seat a few inches lower than normal to allow for easy foot support and start on a very very slight slope. Don't even pedal to begin with. Just get the feeling of balance whilst letting gravity do the…

I used to be a judoka. Or is it something you always are even when you don't partake any more? Make sure you focus on the back strength as well as the push ups. Some bent over rows and flys with dumbbells should help bringing with bringing the opponents close in and pulling them to the side. Obviously abs are a given

If you don't want to go clipless, I would suggest looking at 5.10s or other specialised mountain bike shoes even on a road/hybrid bike, as mentioned above, the stuff sole is key. Also look at skate shoes, waffle soles are awesome on half decent pedals

I wouldn't think nit much more than the same kit mounted on the bars, given they are directly in front of the stem as well, it could be better than bar mounting. A professional racer may care but anything below elite would struggle to tell i would guess.

You can gain or lose 5lbs a day during to salt content, water retention, menstrual cycle. You could have weighed in at a light time 7 weeks ago and heavy time this one and in reality you lost a lot more. Unfortunately with only a single starting weight you don't know if that was representative of what you were. If you are…

A stone in a month is very fast and probably means you will lose water first, then muscle with fat. The muscle loss will make you look worse when on holiday. You may also end up unwell as you don't have enough calories for cell repair, you'll also feel rotten. Aim for 1500, exercise well and judge the results on the mirror…

If you feel really lost coming into this then get yourself a daily plan going. For example, if you have a 1500 calorie day to hit and you like 3 meals and a sweet treat at night then start with: 300cal breakfast 400cal lunch 600cal dinner 200cal treat Then find some meals you like that could meet the targets. After a week…

It seems you are overestimating your meals, which is very rare. An 800 calorie lunch with fruit and salad would be pretty massive. Granted producing milk may increase the appetite but I would check your meal sizes and calories just so you are aware. 11 bananas in one sitting, that pretty huge as well. Once you start…

Eating and drinking antioxidants actually reduces the amount of antioxidants the body has in it over the following hours. The body makes all the antioxidants it needs and doesn't need any more, flooding it reduces the rate of production. So if you're concerned with the amount of antioxidants you have, after asking yourself…

Quoting a body building website isn't exactly the best proof. Especially as it states antioxidants should be consumed in food and drink! Can we get a facepalm icon for this forum.

There's always plenty of overweight people who will preach that it's healthy or that being slim is bowing down to media pressure etc. They hate it when smaller people say they need to lose weight. For most it's just an act to hide the jealousy and unhappiness with what they've done to themselves and lack of drive to make a…

Is your period about to start? 3lbs in 2 days means eating 4500 a day over. Very unlikely you'd miss that much intake no matter how bad the logging.

Save all your pidgey/caterpie/weedle candies until you get 60 evolves ready. Activate a lucky egg and evolve everything. 30 minute later you are 6 levels higher.

You may be so bunged up that some assistance may be required. Maybe an enema. This is medical assistance level though. Once it's sorted keep an eye on your fibre and if you find yourself blocking up, go for a curry, they never let me last more than a few hours a clean out.

I cycle too fast for my eggs to grow. First world problem

The difference between a good meal and a bad meal is, for example, 500 calories. 3 meals and snacks could be 1500 calorie difference. Much more in the morbidly obese. Half an hour of strenuous exercise is 200 calories. Get the diet sorted. Exercise is a bonus and is fun

It's strange how all these wonder products are never used by a lot of people or prescribed by doctors. If this, as well as any other product/diet worked so well then there would be no obesity in the richer parts of the world. It's much cheaper to give people these drugs than treat the heart disease and diabetes of someone…

To qualify as a nutritionist you need an online course for a few hours. To give diet advice as a PT you need to read a magazine. He sounds useless but most people trust an 'expert'.

That's a lot to lose. You're likely to tale at least a year, more like two. Set milestones on the plan. Its 95% diet. Exercise doing things you enjoy. It's no one else's fault or success but yours.

Hi Nicole, just checking if your current height and weightis reasonable to target a loss, I skim read the post so apologies if you stated them already. Obviously with your history you may need to check if your goals are reasonable to keep you from heading down a bad path.

Thus may work for you but OP has succeeded without a diet that's not for most people. OP, 30lbs is the volume of a bed pillow, you just don't notice the cupfull a day! Use clothes to highlight the losses.

For now focus on getting into the 160s. You can achieve a goal like that in September. Then the 150s for Christmas. It's tough to commit to a big goal that's 6 months away.

Your weight is pretty good for your height but as all women hold their weight differently you could have areas you are particularly unhappy with. Switching between strength and weight loss will keep things interesting. Building muscle is pretty easy with a moderate investment, resistance band set and dumbell set would cost…

Those lucky metabolism people are extremely likely to be those who eat well naturally. Not tempted by chocolate/bacon etc. Don't need to feel stuffed after a meal. Exercise regularly etc. I thought I was one of those lucky ones on my 2500-3000cal/day but it was down to 20+ hours a week of exercise that I didn't even call…

I'm a biscuit binger. The way I see it is that the pack is designed to be scoffed. You can't seal an opened pack with a peg unless you delve down way into the pack. I can easily polish off 1000 calories in an afternoon with some blue milk and a pack of ginger nuts.

I gained 4lbs in 12 hours from a burger and chips. The whole plate of food weighed less than 2lbs. Salt plays havoc with weight as it make your body hold onto water. Add in monthly cycles and you could be 10lbs up through no fault of your diet or exercise.

How tight is your logging? There's no magic going on so you're either eating more or exercising less. You're probably in the middle of BMI so it's tough to lose the last few pounds
