I agree 100%. It's what you don't see that is the real story. I have a friend that met & was working out with a former contestant. "They" told her about hours in the sauna everyday, plus diet coke & coffee was sometimes their only meal. Before the final weigh in, "they" were seen purchasing tons of supplements, diet pills,…

I did one from GNC, called total body cleanse that was around $25. It was for 7 days, and it was something. The first 3 days were BRUTAL! I did kick the caffeine habit after, and have only eaten clean since then. I felt like it did something, but others might think it was a waste. You have to do what you think is best. If…

I never eat them either. Sometimes I hit my max, and then other days I just do the minimum. I'm trying to get out of this rut I've had for the last week. Just eat at least 1200 a day, and if you're hungry, eat more.

Weight watchers is a great starting point for someone that is changing their lifestyle cold turkey. I did it for 6 months, and lost 51lbs. When I plateaued, i hired a trainer, modified my eating, and came onto this website. If you are serious, it can help. The goal is to watch portion sizes, chose fruits over other…

I've been in the same boat for over a week. I'm stuck. I changed my workouts to start including core & total conditioning classes, on top of my strength, and cardio. I was at 1250 a day, now I'm up to almost 1500, so I am hoping something happens. Your body will plateau, so increasing the amount you exercise, plus adding…

I have a polar, and it changed my life. Now that I know my zones, I am able to alternate between the three, and gain endurance. i rode 15 miles last week and burned 1100 calories. Never in a million years would I have guessed it would have been that much. I spent $150 on mine, and I consider that a bargain. It's paid for…

After dislocating my shoulder the night before my 35th birthday, the next morning my husband gave me a card with a clown sitting on the toliet as my only gift. This thread is hilarious!

Mine is worth every penny & sacrafice I've made to keep him. He is the best. At first I was intimidated by what to expect. I told him about my previous injuries (which are way too many), and he started our first session by just seeing what I could do. The experiences I've had with him are important to achieving my ultimate…

Feel free to add me. We all fall off the wagon at some point. If you every need anything, feel free to ask!

Wow! You seem really stressed about this, and I can only imagine your frustration. Personally I aim for 1300-1450 calories a day. i don't pay attention to mfp standards. I feel at my best when I eat what i want, and just try to make the best, unprocessed foods I can. I switched to almond milk, and greek yogurt which cut…

Feel free to add me. I have btw 55-66 pounds left, but I've already lost 74. So I understand your journey! If you ever need anything, feel free to ask . You can do it!!

That is amazing! I had that same little victory a month ago at the gym. The towels are so small, that i usually brought my own from home. Now I can use theirs, and it made me feel like I was making a difference! Good for you! You're doing a fantastic job :)

Depends on what time you get up & eat breakfast. You shouldn't go more than 9-10 hours without eating. I stopped eating after 8pm, and then wasn't eating until 7am, and I was getting sick. As long as you are within your calorie goal, and it's healthy, you should eat when you are hungry.

I've seen great success with eating at least 1250 calories a day, but not eating my exercise calories back. From my doctor to my trainer if you drop below 1200, you are not going to lose weight. Maybe up your protein vs carbs. I started eating a green apple a day with 32g of peanut butter, and I have averaged 3.2lb per…

Wow! This is amazing!! I haven't posted any pictures of me, but you are inspiring me to. I have lost 75lbs since October, and I should take a new picture. What a FANTASTIC job you are doing! Good for you! You can totally see it!!!! keep it up!

I have only tried GNC total lean shake. I have the vanilla (which tastes like cake batter, yum!), and the swiss chocolate. I use almond milk, and add either a banana or berries, with ice. I try to have 1 a day, but have cut down to 3-4 a week because I am trying to eat more nuts. They have individual packages at some…

I hit a 6 month plateau in March, when i hit 51lbs lost. I had to change my eating. I was on Weight Watchers where I made huge strides, but then I hired a trainer, and talked with him about what needed to change. I switched over to clean eating. I now eat greek yogurt instead of light n fit, almond milk instead of skim…

You should never eat below 1250 a day. You're body will go into starvation mode, and you will actually lose muscle.

I have a huge problem with the idea of eating back exercise calories. I know there are a lot of members on here that do, and if that works for them-great. I eat between 1250-1450 calories a day. I usually burn between 800-1800 calories a day. I don't eat back any of my exercise calories. Within 6 weeks I've lost over…

I've only been on here since April, but have made a lifestyle since October. So far I'm down 74 lbs, but still have another 60 to go. Feel free to add me. I am a bit OCD with my new lifestyle, so i hold myself accountable everyday. Good luck-I know you can do it.

I've only been on here since April, but feel free to add me. It never hurts to have more support! If you need any help, feel free to ask!!

It is totally worth it. I pay $60 a month, plus a trainer. When I wear my heart rate monitor during a class, I noticed I burn about 75% of the calories I do with my trainer, so for free it's worth it. Plus if the weather is bad, you can workout indoors. Take advantage of the classes. It sounds like it is worth the money!…

The only thing I think you can do is continue to be an example. When i started in Oct '10, my husband was supportive, but he ate junk food all the time. I did the shopping, also the cooking so i started to eliminate junk food one by one. After 6 months. and sixty pounds lighter, he said it was time. Now he's been at it for…

I workout six days a week, anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours a day. The most intense is when I workout with my trainer, or do a high cardio day. One day a week I bike anywhere from 15-25 miles, or walk 4.5 miles through hills, and then free weights. I haven't burned out yet, but if I ever need an extra day off, I take it.

Welcome! Feel free to add me, and if you ever need any help, I'm here for you on this journey!

Keep up the great work. I've been at this for 7 months, and I wouldn't have been successful without support. Feel free to add me, and I'll be happy to support you! I've been on this journey since October 2010, but have only been on here since April. I love this site to keep me honest. Talk to you soon!!

There are 3 different things that I do. Either an ice bath (it works!), a hot bath with epsom salt, or I use a foam roll at the gym. This is used anywhere on your body, and helps break up the latic acid that collects when you workout so hard. My trainer showed me how to use it, and it cut my recovery time in half. They are…

I wore my HRM once, I was surprised. How funny you should post this. At least we are worried about counting calories, and not mindlessly eating them anymore!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great! Feel free to add me if you would like!
