I agree with previous comments that fibro can affect not just your body, but your mind. It eats away at your sense of self, and if you have a long drawn out diagnosis process, that also causes a lot of fear and anxiety. I was diagnosed with lupus and several forms of cancer before finally arriving at fibro. I feel better…

I used to have a copper IUD before diagnosed as PCOS. I had a 3 month period which prompted the change to Mirena. I still had some cysts visible on ultrasound after a year on the Mirena, but my doc said they were probably not new ones, since we did not have a pre ultrasound to compare to. He said Mirena prevents ovulation,…

I agree with the water weigh comments. I've read that the scale can fluctuate as much as five pounds in a given day. For me personally, I can have a perfect day, eat one slice of pizza (staying under my total calories for the day) and still show a 2 pound gain the next few days. If it is bothering you that much, try…

I'm allergic to soy, and don't like the texture of most meat substitutes (I stopped eating meat because I don't like the texture as much as because I don't want to eat animals.) I eat a lot of beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds (love quinoa!) and eggs once or twice a month. My husband like meat substitutes but limits soy due…

I've eaten mostly meat free for years, but my husband decided to join me earlier this year after watching Food, Inc. For me the transition was easy, but I haven't like meat so that shouldn't be a surprise. My husband on the other hand, had a hard time at first. He ate a lot of meat substitutes, preferring them over whole…

My husband and I have a picture we use as motivation from our first trip together. He was working out like crazy at the time, and I was just a tad over where I'm comfortable, so we both picked 10lbs less than that pic. That will allow for him to thinner without as much muscle bulk as he had and for me to wear size 10-12.…

Hi there! I'm also doing without WW this time around. I think one of the main things I got out of it was the logging all food, and I think MFP is so much easier. Did you do points or core? You can still follow the same basic guidelines. I have my books/brochures etc that I still refer too, I just don't count points and let…
