  • Start of LC diet (Oct 1): 143lbs Start of keto (Oct 13): 139.8lbs Start of ZC (Oct 31): 135lbs Today: 133.2 lbs GW: 130lbs (128-132 lb range) Weight unchanged from last week. I said I had to start consciously eating more. Less coffee, more meat. It's working. I'm going to continue eating to satisfaction, watch the fit of…
  • Wow. So, I'm 40, never been over or under weight, moderately active, BP of 105/65, last cholesterol test was 132 total (forgot rest of numbers, tris were less than 50, IIRC). A1c under 5 with fasted BG of 80, PP BG just under 100. I can think of no good thing that would come from prescribing statins to a patient with these…
  • 8 Nov: Late night election news watching = going off carnivore plan. Half a bowl of my hubby's keto chili around midnight. I should have just eaten the cold cuts and cheese. Oh well, I will carnivore on
  • Start of ZC (Oct 31): 135lbs Today: 133.2 lbs GW: 130lbs (128-132 lb range) Down a little over a pound this week. Woot! Still eating all. The. Meat. Going to eat some more this week. Ribeyes and chuck roasts are half price at local grocery this week. Yes!!
  • My goals for this week: Continue with carnivore WOE It feels harder on week 2. I guess the honeymoon is over, lol. I will trek on, since I feel physically and mental health wise better doing this. Psychologically and socially, I'm having temptations, doubts, and hesitation. Drink less coffee I will eat breakfast THEN have…
  • I know you're looking for prepared sauce, but hear me out. Making your own is so easy. I know, since I can do it, and I despise fussy cooking, lol. http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015987-classic-marinara-sauce Seriously simple. 6g net carbs, 4g sugar per ~1/2 cup serving. And it cooks in the time it takes to boil…
  • End of week summary: So, with the exception of the Diet Coke I had during the World Series and the restaurant goof, I stayed on my carnivore plan very well. Doing mostly good on limiting dairy. I'm lactose intolerant anyway, so why I try to overconsume it despite tummy issues is so silly on my part. No weighing food or…
  • 5 Nov: Day 6 of carnivory. Success! Made liver paté to use as a side dish or snack. Keeps me from overdoing it on cheese. It gets easier every day. Oh, and on an unrelated note, my Fitbit Charge is broken. Well the push button fell off. But still, it reminds me that I perhaps obsess over my numbers too much by pushing it…
  • Egg and chorizo scramble Salmon fillet with cream cheese Liver paté Taco bowl (ground beef, spices, sour cream, and cheddar) My routine is usually the same. Eggs and meat for breakfast, fish for lunch, beef or lamb at dinner. A little offal once in a while for snacking.
  • 4 Nov: I'm still committed to not micro-managing my nutrition. However, I find it easy to make less than optimal food choices without a plan. Today I've set aside my foods I plan to eat. I must remember that cheese is a condiment, not a meal. My mantra needs to be eat more meat if still hungry.
  • 3 Nov: Still eating just animal kindom, but got fooled by "gluten free" cheese sauce on my burger at a restaurant today. Got super bloated and crampy shortly after. Called the restaurant. Oh, the cheese sauce contains wheat flour? Good thing I'm not celiac. Very misleading of them :'( Oh well. Lesson learned; ask detailed…
  • We don't do restaurants or take out too often. However, I find most burger places gladly offer lettuce wrapped burgers or burger in a bowl. Non breaded wings are available at many pizza places. For dining in, buffets with carving stations and salad bars make it easy.
  • Nov 2: Ate all the meats. :) Found a frugal source for pastured butter. <3 Drank Diet Pepsi during Game 7 last night. :| Still, I enjoyed the game carb free. :)
  • I have quite the opposite experience. High fiber constipates and bloats me, even when eating ample fats. Day 33 LCHF, low fiber, for me and Day 3 ZC. Zero constipation. It's a low residue WOE. Sure, I have less volume in my BMs, but certainly not constipated. No bloating, pain, or cramps. Fat intake seems to be the key. I…
  • Check in for 1 Nov: Ate only meat, eggs, cheese, and butter. Said no to Splenda in my coffee and no Diet Coke for me. Nailed it.
  • Right back atcha, @Cadori You're doing spectacularly, milady!
  • Start of LC diet (Oct 1): 143lbs Start of keto (Oct 13): 139.8lbs Start of ZC (Oct 31): 135lbs Today: 134.4 lbs GW: 130lbs (128-132 lb range) Whoa! Another 2lbs gone since last weigh in. I must start transitioning to maintenance eating. I've already cut down coffee consumption. I must now rid myself of my other appetite…
  • I really have just one goal, which I started yesterday, and really fits the no nonsense challenge. I'm committing to 30 days of carnivore. And no counting. No fussing over calories, carbs, macros, or weighing; causes too much stress for me. Just meat, eggs, butter, limited cream and cheese, water, and one morning coffee.
  • I totally need to remember to take pictures of my meals before I tuck in. My facebook friends know my food porn ""signature" is the half eaten mess, lol. But anyway, tonight was a couple medium rare, grass fed lamb shoulder chops that I found in the meat markdown bin for $1.50 each. Dinner for a queen on a peasants budget.
  • I agree that it seems to be a sick prank. My dear MIL is a long time T2D, and complains that sugar free chocolate, the - ol filled ones, are so hard to find these days. I wonder why...
  • Agreed. I eat strictly keto (very low carbs, high fat, moderate/adequate protein), but don't drink BPC. I figure some people must like it. I gladly put a splash of heavy cream in my morning joe, which I find tastier than an equal calorie portion of fat free non dairy creamer. But, I'd rather use my butter to cook my eggs ;)
  • Happy Halloween to all! It's also my and hubby's wedding anniversary, and he's taken vacation this week, so very busy with fun things! And, today I'm finally doing what I need to do for my body. First day of Zero Carb!!! And no longer calorie or macro counting. I feel very liberated and freed at the thought, so I know I'm…
  • Perfect timing!! I just picked up some juicy pork chops from the butcher today. I'm trying this recipe tonight <3
  • Coconut water. Someone once gave me one to try, and called it amazing. Umm, no, I found it disgusting. Not going to buy that. Ever.
  • I agree to order without noodles. If you want, add your own low carb alternatives, assuming you're getting the pho to go. If dining in, maybe they would sub in cabbage for the noodles, should you want that. Can't hurt to ask.
  • I've averaged 13g daily sugar in the last 2 weeks. All from veggies (esp. the carrots, peppers and onions here and there), a wee bit from lactose, and a few KIND bars (which I'm giving up for a while). I use USDA nutr info, so for the veggies, all those fractional amounts add up.
  • My diary is open to friends. I'm new, too (keto day 14 for me), so my meals are a little odd at the moment as I experiment with different and new food combos.
  • Sigh, I miss Wisconsin. There is no fresh heavy cream in Las Vegas. It's all UHP with additives and stuff. I can't even find non homogenized milk, so as to skim off my own cream. I'm okay with that, but gee, is there really zero demand in this area for fresh dairy products?
  • Start of LC diet (Oct 1): 143lbs Start of keto (Oct 13): 139.8lbs Today: 136.4lbs GW: 130lbs (128-132 range) Down another full pound this week! And the best thing is that my food is so satisyfying. Zero hangries.
  • I'm following this thread, as I'm less than 10lbs from the bottom of my goal weight range. Currently, I'm <25g net carbs, but do imagine I'll be increasing carbs somewhat in maintenance. Definitely once I'm fully fat adapted. My long term goal is avoidance of all grains and lactose (I'm a little sad about the lactose, but…
