I read your post and the main theme seems to be procrastination. You say yourself you know WHAT to do, just not how to do it and stick with it. Getting away from motivation, how you should eat, how you should work out.......I am going to give you the advice you asked for on "taking advice". A friend posed this to me a few…

Pick ONE thing each week and work on that. The other things will start to fall into place. Something as simple as committing to walk 20 minutes every day, rain or shine, can make all the difference. Also, you admit it yourself that you don't want to be in the "don't give a *kitten* stage." You can sit around and think…

If you are not going to take it inside then the only way to beat the heat is early morning. If you can't do that, then there are little things that will help, but you may want to dial back the miles for a while.

I am in Tulsa also.....would love for you to add me! I am new to MFP and have really liked the tracking and the camaraderie. I have never tried the Coney Islander place......eating out is one of my downfalls though. Well.....that and Friday Happy Hour.

There are lots of opinions on this subject. I am pretty new to MFP so I am still figuring out what works best for me. You kind of have to play around with it as there is more to it than a number on the scale to measure your success. I find that also keeping track of how I am feeling --- my mood, my energy levelsis giving…

Which I would interpret as meaning you don't believe your children would deserve to spend their day with anyone other than a daycare worker. What a privilege for them.

Love this!!! When we put ourselves in the other's shoes AND respond to things in a loving way (rather than "keeping score") it makes all the difference. I tell people who complain about their spouses for whatever reason --- "how would you have handled this in that giddy time when you first met him/her?"

There are so many posts on this I didn't read through them all. That being said, here's my 2 cents. I was a "stay at home" mom for 10 years. Best job I ever had. My husband thought that clean socks appeared in his drawer by magic. What irked the heck out of me though was the grouchiness I would get for asking him to take…

I didn't look at your diary but judging from the comments, if you are going to count calories, you are going to have to do it honestly EVERY day. Changing habits is hard and trying to change them all at once can be overwhelming. If you and I were sitting at coffee chit chatting about this, I would tell you to cut out the…

Congrats on your successes! Honestly, she probably saw it and is just one of those mean people. I used to let people like that get under my skin, I would have spent the next two days thinking of about a hundred things I wished I would have said to her. Now I don't let people get away with it. I look them straight in the…

I just started running again after being unable to for months for various reasons. Add a 40 pound weight gain on top of that and I am running at over 200 lbs. It is harder but it is definitely doable. My advice, from personal experience. Start SLOW. The first thing I did was commit to walking 20 minutes per day, every day,…

Add me and I will support you! I have been where you are......and I don't think you fear gaining 100 pounds as much as you do the success of hitting your goals. I am not a counselor but I had a life coach for a year that posed that very concept to me. I really had to think about why I was procrastinating every day. Good…

Have you seen a doctor so you know exactly what it is? Your symptoms sound like those I had a few months back. They treated me for bursitis. My doctor gave me a shot of steroids, a prescription for more steroids and a pain killer to sleep at night (mine hurt so bad I could not get comfortable to sleep at night). She told…

I am in no way an expert but I will relay this story to you. When my nephew was around 7 years old, his parents were concerned about how thin he was and consulted a doctor. One of the questions they were asked was how much milk he was drinking. He apparently not only drank glasses of milk with meals, but also at other…

Ignore them. It is a waste of energy to do anything but that. They are actually a very small percentage of this site. Just like anyone negative that you run across, it is attention driven. Be "nice" to others.....motivational, helpful, understanding.....all of those cool things and do not give them the time of day. Many do…

I read others' diaries all of the time too! I'm with you.....I get some meal ideas and I am nosey. I am one of those people that is always peeking in other carts at the grocery store, wondering what they are buying.

Feel free to add me. I like the camaraderie. I like the accountability of knowing that I have friends logging every day and I am not going to be the one to kill my own logging streak. I have always found a little bit of competition is motivating. Your original post was not whiny or complaining. :)

Anyone in this thread is welcome to add me! I am newbie....committed to posting every day. Love the camaraderie!

They are kind of like John Grisham books......started out new and fresh and then became the same thing over and over. I saw them live when Rock Star was the top single. It was kind of like watching a Pepsi commercial. I still sing along to all of their songs.....can't help it.

One of my rules of life......"Never ask a woman about her baby unless she is holding it." :) Great start coming here! As someone who "knows" what it takes for me but doesn't always follow it, I have found that the food tracking has been the most helpful at this point. I try not to get too obsessed about it, but I am…

A healthy relationship with food doesn't mean the same things for everyone. And some people may never be able to achieve the relationship with food that you describe. Knowing your triggers, knowing what you personally need to do to stay on track, knowing yourself and your relationship with food is important. I can…

Sorry.....I am new to these forums so not very good at quoting, etc. I agree.....I love to eat out! I am one of those people that says "OK....but where are we eating?" when plans are being made for anything......day trip, weekend, birthday. I just think that as everyone has said, you have been so successful, that you can…

Lots of great advice here for eating out. I love to eat out! I would eat out every meal if I could afford it! :) The problem with eating out today vs. years ago is that it is no longer a treat, but there is still the mindset that it is. A couple of generations ago, eating out was a once in a while thing.....for a birthday,…

Feel free to add me.....and would love for anyone else on this thread to also add me. I have been on here about 3 weeks now and really enjoying the camaraderie!

I started running after starting my own walking program. I know nothing about asthma or how you need to deal with that walking or running, but you could adapt as needed. I committed to time instead of miles.....20 minutes per day when I first started......rain, shine, wind, snow. 10 minutes out, 10 minutes back. Give it…

Nope. Don't run. There are worse addictions than running, no need to trade it in for sitting on the couch watching TV. You don't have to be drunk to fall off of a mechanical bull, but it helps for getting on one in the first place. I agree with the duct tape theory.....you should have done that if you didn't want anyone…

Has binge eating in late evening or night always been an issue? If not, then you are probably not eating enough during the day. The only time I get hungry later evening.....the ravenous can't get it off my mind kind of hungry......is when I am not eating enough during the day (or filling my day with nothing but junky empty…

I deal with the same thing, as well as pain in my shins. It really helps me to concentrate on my big muscles --- thighs and hiney --- to do the work rather than my feet. I tend to "push off" with my feet rather than letting my legs do the lifting. I read often about proper stride and there are some good exercises out there…
