  • I have a 6yr old Labradoodle with more doodle than lab in the legs....he has super long legs, and loves to walk/run. He used to pull me all over the place (was actually not enjoyable to walk with) until i got him a Harness. That gentle hug calms him right down, and he walks great. I've not run with him before, but maybe…
  • I see the words "desperate", and "hate", and "afraid"...."unhealthy relationship with food", "super skinny with an eating disorder". It seems to me that you actually recognize that you have an issue, and are looking for a little push to go work on it again. Heal your relationship with yourelf and with food first....then…
  • I need to introduce you to my Endocrinologist...
  • So sorry for you. Its never never easy to let go of a pet....they are the one entity that gives us undconditional love above all else.
  • ^^^^^^ Here Here.
  • The connotation of the word itself is negative, in my opinion, and i think we just need to use our brains and realistic. I like food, and i don't want to think of it in a bad light. I like sex too. Should I havea "cheat day"? mmm...probably not...lol Some can't live without them, and it helps keep them sane. I'd like to…
  • IMO, wheat is wheat, whether it is duram, whole, etc. etc. so no....not really, i don't think it makes a difference or is any better, but thats me. Your milage may vary. I've been trying to eliminate wheat from my diet....wheat free since Saturday only, but i must say, my "bloat factor" has reduced significantly.
  • While there are no "insulins" that suppress appetite, there are some Liraglutide injections available that are "touted" to "potentially" reduce appetite (i.e., Victoza). Not an insulin, but I think very often confused as one. I take Victoza. It doesn't do crap for my appetite (i'm not an overly hungry person to begin with…
  • I just finished this book also, and found it very interesting. I do not think that poor wheat is evil incarnate, but I do believe that it has been so genetically modified over the years that it is no longer the grain it used to be. I have serious issues with my thyroid and with diabetes....and an IBS type situation. I've…
  • I just finished reading this also. I am hoping that if I go gluten free, it will help with my Hashi's, my Diabetes, and my joint pain.
  • yum. i wish though that i could turn this into a diabetic friendly version.
  • So, 2 hours is the best time to test after eating??? I need to start carrying my test stuff with me. My doc was more concerned about my high BS in the mornings, so he was just having me test in the AM when i got up, and at night before bed. My a1c was 5.8 recently, so i guess i'm doing OK, but it would be really nice to…
  • Awesome, and excellent work in sticking it out. I'm kind of in the same sticky wicket right now...so seeing that this all works is great inspiration to hang in there.
  • :flowerforyou: Its hard to advise if no one really knows what your goals are. The advise will be based on their personal goals, as opposed to your own. Make smart choices that fit into the lifestyle that you have chosen, whether that be watching sodium, fat, carbs, sugar...and so on. Odds are you already know what you…
  • LOL @ cat on treadmill.
  • Finding the time and motivation to work out is not easy under the very best of circumstances, and yet you are out and doing it 5 days a week. Keep on keeping on. Every step is progress, and every lifted weight is helping you to discover the new and wonderful you :) Keep on with your personal victories, and definitely sc$ew…
  • THIS is the bomb.
  • Dude....you are amazing...what an awesome journey you have had.
  • ^^ This for me. I simply count every liquid I drink toward my water count....as I drink teas, and have a sodastream machine and carbonate ALOT of water to make my own drinks. IMO, if it makes me pee, it counts.
  • Plus....eating more makes you a happier person :)
  • I don't think MFP gives enough base calories. Almost everyone that lets MFP calculate them is on 1200 calories. Do you know what your BMR is? I'd be eating to that at a very minimum, but ymmv.
  • You can also add a scoop of unflavored protein powder if vanilla is not conducive to your recipe. I think a pumpkin protein muffin with cinnamon and pecans would be the bomb. Now i just need to find a recipe!
  • I'm going to have to check this out. I don't really crave sweets that often, but next time i do i'm going to check my BS and see if i'm running high. oh the irony hey??
  • You'd be surprised :) I upped my calories from around 1400 to over 1900. i did gain a little at first (4 -5 lbs), but i could tell its all water. I've lost 3 of that now. The kicker though is that i lost 5.8 inches overall in a week. That alone helped me get over the weight thing, and concentrate on eating all of my…
  • Go for it mike!!
  • To keep eating those calories that i need to keep moving!
  • In my mind, i have about 70 to go. In reality, its probably less than that, due to building LBM...which I'm fine with. I've set goals in 10% increments for myself, just as a baseline / gauge - but i know that the scale itself is the devil incarnate and will not be the deciding factor on whether or not i am making progress.…
  • I'd say that is a pretty darn good trade! Awesome.
  • My endo didnt want me cutting them completely out, but for me, suggested to try and stay below 60 per main meal.

  • I like lowfat string cheese. I also get baked cheese (called just the cheese). I keep 6 different flavors of high fiber protein bars in the house too. I also love jiff to go with celery or carrots, or the snack sized cottage cheese cups with probiotics. Love the emeralds nuts! My protein bars, cheese, and high protein meat…
