I love, love, love Zumba. I've lost 19 pounds in just under two months with a Zumba-heavy exercise routine. I do Latin ballroom dancing, and Zumba gives me a chance to get my dance fix. I can go out dancing very often because I have a child and can't always get out. As for a favorite song? I really don't have one. I have…

Bump, for all the newbies or there like me. :)

Ok, let's try this one more time... Any salsa dancers out there?
-
That's what I keep telling myself. I fail sometimes, but I keep getting up and dusting myself off and trying again.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I'm glad your focusing on your journey towards being healthy.
-
Now, I know I'm not the only one here that salsa dances...

I think it may be a combination of both, but the hand tomouth motion is definitely a big part of it, as an ex-smoker. I do chew gum, and it helps sometimes, but not all of the time.

I've looked into counseling, but the only kind of free counseling I could get is kind of far away and gas, of course, is expensive, especially if you're unemployed. Maybe there is a hotline I could call that's free?

I really think you're right. I do need to find something to occupy my time. I've been unemployed since December, so I think part of it is boredom, but some of it is depression, too.

I add about half a cup of baking soda to my load when I put it the detergent. It helps with the smell, plus boosts the cleaning power of your detergent. Adding vinegar to the rinse cycle is another good one I saw suggested above. Also, sometimes your actual washing machine needs to be washed, believe it or not. Google how…

This was my favorite advice out of the whole thread. HAHAHA!!!!

I seriously used to do exactly this. From buying it with cash, to disposing of the evidence, to eating a normal meal with the family. I'd even chew gum to get rid of Taco Bell breath or whatever I'd had to eat.

Thanks!! I always look forward to moving some beads over. :)

Thank you all for the input. It's really helping me decide how much to depend on this thing, and how to stay on track regardless.
-
That makes sense. Thanks!

MFP says I burned 257 calories in one hour of leisurely walking. Since that is a smaller number than my HRM told me, I erred on the side of caution and used that as my figure on my log today.

Can they be trusted to watch a movie or show in their bedroom for half an hour or 45 minutes? I'm assuming their bedroom is upstairs, also. Maybe a promise of going to the park or playing a game with you would help motivate them to behave for that sorry period of time so you can crank out a short workout.

How old and how many kids?
-
It generally stayed between 100 and 125, I think, once I started walking.
-
Wow. That sums it up beautifully.
-
Thank you for the info!

Congrats on your weightloss!!! You look amazing! By the way, how can I figure out what category I'm in? Like overweight, obese, etc?

Gotta love her sexy toned arms!

I agree with the heart rate monitor advice. DEFINITELY get one! It'll give you a way more accurate count. From what so many people have told me, the Polar FT4 is one of the best. Mine is currently on its way to me in the mail. :)
