Finally hit my June goal, one week into July. Committing to it hear helped! For July, I would like to lose 9 lbs, focus on staying around 20 carbs, drinking water and getting at least 7 hrs sleep. We're moving, changing jobs, and it's all very stressful---I have had more than a couple cocktails this month. I had my longest…

I like meat, just never ate a lot of it. I like the idea of focusing on the indulgence of it, rather than the deprivation. Thanks!

Do you have a brand for Caesar or Ranch that you can recommend?

I was so excited by those 2 additional pounds...and then I had two margaritas last night. I'm finding not having a cocktail to be the hardest part of Atkins! Love the monthly challenge though, and with only a week left of June, I can stick to the strict rules for these last 8 days.

My impression is that there is Old-School Atkins (which has better results) and new-school Atkins that is all about selling products and good PR, so it is a lot less restrictive. I heard from a lot of people to stay away from Atkins products for weight loss. All that said, I think nuts are fine so long as you stay under 20…

Update: 25th day of induction and down 12 lbs total. Really want 15 total by end of June!
-
I'm counting total carbs...when I get closer to my goal, perhaps I'll subtract fiber but the different additions of Atkins seem to make sugar alcohol okay to sell products. Again, I'm an Atkins newbie so who knows. I always journal in the notes section of my food log, so I can't imagine making that public...but I do find…

I tried the tortilla from hard melted cheese last week, based on a post on MFP that suggested using the microwave and parchment paper. Turned out to be a waste and a mess. Will try this technique next, thanks! I can't figure out how to add a photo to my comment...I'm on an ipad, not sure if that is the problem.

Thanks for sharing all this inspiration and practical advice. I have been using Fitbit and aiming for 10000 steps a day. I am more than willing to do this for 4 months if I could see half your results. My weight loss came fast at first (10 lbs the first 8 days) and then nothing until day 20! Now I'm finally losing again.…

I don't have many snack suggestions: diet jello, Canadian ham, hard boiled eggs. I think Atkins is easier in some ways, because the protein is filling and cravings go away after a couple days. The monotony is a bit of a struggle for me. It does take some planning. I have three little boys so we have a ton of fruit, and I…

Love this idea---I'll try snapping tomorrow.

Yay! Congrats in sticking with it and such success! I just got my Fitbit today and am so motivated by your story & photos.

Wow, did you lose all 65 lbs over those 4 months? I'm finding resisting seasonal fruit challenging too. But I'm motivated to see success stories like yours!

I think you are the third person to mention 30 lbs in 3 months, so now I'm focused on that. It makes it easier to not get discouraged when the scale seems froZen on one number. I lost 10 lbs over the first 8 days and not a pound since. I did take one day off and didn't go over board but did have a spinach peanut butter…

I'm on day 17, and still stuck on 10lbs lost almost all from that first week. I'm going to stick with it---it is amazing the difference ketosis makes in terms of hunger and cravings. I plan to focus on drinking water as much as I did at first, and just got a FitBit. I'm committed to June 30th, and hoping for a 5 lb loss by…

Lost 10 lbs during the first 8 days and not a pound since then. Trying not to get discouraged. Hopefully 5 more lbs at some point this month!
-
Can you share how long you were on Phase 1? Wish I had advice but I'm only on the third week of Induction. Perhaps scrutinize if you are logging your serving size and carbs accurately. Also, perhaps up your movement now that you are upping carbs. You might just be super sensitive to carbs, though less than 2 lbs could just…

I'm not a long timer, only my 2nd week, but they don't seem to post often. I did talk to a friend last night who started Atkins two years ago, and she was in a similar slump, but she also said that she knew if she was as diligent as she was at the beginning, and made sure to get 15 carbs from veggies, and drank water all…

My above comment was meant to be a reply to LuLuNH. I'm on day 8 of induction, my first time doing Atkins. I've lost 10 lbs, which I am really happy about, especially as i haven't struggled much yet or been hungry. Today was my first day without a loss though, and I'm bummed. Realistically, I knew I couldn't expect to keep…

Wow, you have come so far! I am starting right where you started, and your progress gives me real hope. I didn't fully understand the challenge thread, thanks for explaining it.

Has anyone tried carb busters yogurt, Kroger brand? It was 4 carbs...probably only okay after induction, but no sugar. I've been eating healthy, whole food for years, and while I have only gained weight, I don't want to star eating processed/fake food either. So far I have had sugar-free jello, which I normally would never…

Love how positive you all are. I found a few Atkins blogs, and the big advice there was to stay away from the Atkins products and follow the original book. I'm doing that, though I haven't been subtracting fiber to get net carbs---just following my MFP totals to see if it hit 20 carbs. I'm only a week in and it is my first…

This is the main question I have too. Would love to hear from successful (ie: at goal weight now) dieters to hear how long they stayed on induction...but they probably aren't on the boards much any more. chankalian, hope you don't me mind saying, you already look very fit so I imagine losing anything will come slowly. I…

I'm excited to find others trying Atkins. I just read The Diet Fix, by Yoni (I forget), and it was the best I've ever read (and I've read them all it seems!). His book was all about habits and long-term keeping the weight off, but he referenced Atkins quite a few times and I'm combining his habits with Atkins diet. I'm…

Just joined, so not sure how this group works. I'm on day 5 of induction. Loving the lack of cravings, but already a bit bored. I've lost 8 lbs already, which is crazy but I was 5 over my normal set point and I figure most of that was water weight. I'd love to know if people stayed in induction longer to keep seeing…

I'm on day 5 of induction, and don't want to debate the plan, but find others doing it too. I know I have a sugar/flour addiction, so nine is better than some. I've already lost 8 lbs, though I assume most of that is water weight. I'm not hungry though, and that seems to be the biggest challenge when just counting…

Love hearing that others are farther along and have been able to stick with it. I have a lot to lose, so I've been losing about a pound a day:)

The photos are SO inspiring! Thank you for sharing your success.
