  • CALORIES make people fat. Plain and simple. Extra calories end up as fat. It is all about the math. You can get fat eating too many potatoes and carrots as easily as if you overrate candy. It's about chemistry.

  • I use salsa or I create a hybrid "dressing." Today, for example I mixed two tablespoons of fat free mayo with one tablespoon of Caesar Light dressing and a teaspoon of sweet honey mustard. Not mustard dressing but real mustard. I mix it all up and yum. I eat salads three times a day. I'm obsessed with salads.

  • I get really upset if I don't get my scheduled bike rides. I like my schedule and it makes me calm to keep it daily pretty much the same way, but I know it's not healthy, it's an addiction, just a more socially acceptable one than drinking or drugs.
