Because you are not extremely over weight you should not try and lose more than a pound or two a week - it will be impossible to keep it off if you try. Any of those 30 day challenges do not burn a ton of calories - they are simply endurance exercises. I did the 30 day plank, squat and ab challenge. By the end of the ab challenge (which was excruciating) I was only burning about 50 calories. And that was measured by a HRM not an estimate ...

I would say a quick breakfast depends on whether you are going to be able to eat when you get to your destination or not. You will find if you use a HRM that your weightlifting calories will be significantly higher than what MFP estimates them to be. Just keep in mind that when using general stuff like that its always a 'best guess' My HRM broke and so I use the general estimates, because its better than not logging :)
