I am in awe of bigger people I see running! I walk daily in the cemetery across the road from my home (it's a large, tree-filled, historic, and very hilly place with lots of roads, so it's great for walking). I fear running but have done the first day of c25k just this week. What inspired me to give it a go was a quite…

WOW!!! What an AMAZING transformation! You are beautiful! :flowerforyou:

Congratulations on your achievement - you were fabulous and now you're EXTRA fab! :flowerforyou:

Thanks for that link. I've been looking into TIS - it's very interesting. I'm a natural swimmer and I think I have developed a style that is quite like TIS but I am going to carefully check next time I go swimming and see if I can use the principles to improve. It makes such sense.

I'm all about fitness at the moment so I've just read Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, which was fantastic! And I've just finished Convict Conditioning by Paul Wade - about progressive calisthenics - Brilliant!

Fantastic NSV! :flowerforyou: I LOVE swimming but am very, VERY out of practice. I'm about to get back in the water myself. It just needs to be a little bit warmer for me. (Aussie spring). I've never heard the term "front crawl" though. In Oz we call the "crawl" strokes freestyle and backstroke. (& the others are…

Mighty Mama indeed! Well done, you! :flowerforyou:

I've never been more than about 25 pounds overweight so I have never had this experience ... but this brought tears to my eyes. You MUST be feeling so incredibly good having this newfound freedom. I don't know you at all but I'm so happy for you - I want to cheer and dance! :flowerforyou: Edit to fix spelling

Congrats to everyone on their NSVs. You should all take a bow! As for me, this weekend I have 2 NSVs. Yesterday I saw my daughter for the first time in 3 weeks. We usually see each other every week but she's had a frantically busy time lately so I have had to content myself with phone calls and text messaging. She was…

The make-up is FANTASTIC! That suppurating sore on your cheek is especially good! :noway:

What fun - a zombie 5k. And congratulations on your weight loss AND the brilliant health benefits! Inspiring.

I'm 58 and I think, after 8 years, I might finally be POST menopausal. I love wine and have 2 small glasses each night 120mls each (about 180 cals in total). I drink heaps of water during the day and a couple of coffees. Apart from the wine I eat very cleanly (mostly) and I have been losing steadily - except when the ice…

Well done on the results of your dedication and effort! I love reading posts like this, where the weight lost means not just a better looking body but overcoming poor health and going off medication. Yahoo!

Love it. Love it. LOVE IT! The thing that leaps out at me, besides your amazing success, is that both letters are full of compassion. What a great post.

It does sound very much like a food allergy - the hives particularly. I'd strongly advise making time to see a doctor and/or a dietician. I recently saw a dietician because I was having problems with food (bloating, diarrhea etc) and was put on a FODMAP diet to exclude certain carbohydrates. Problem solved. One of the…

Hurrah! Well done on your amazing weight loss.

I hope you grow to love swimming, and I hope I grow to love running. I swim like a fish but the last time I ran, in school, 35 years ago ... well let's just say it wasn't pretty. And the best of luck with that triathlon!

Brilliant result of all your hard work. You are HALF the woman you were! Congratulations. :flowerforyou:

Absolutely brilliant result with your weight but an even bigger triumph, IMHO, with letting go of the old hurts that have held you back! It's really hard to let go of that pain but it's life-changing. :flowerforyou: (I wish there was an applause emoticon!)

Brilliant! Well done, you! :flowerforyou:

TMI alert I had an appointment this morning with the fellow who is fixing my chronic back problems. When I go into the treatment room I take off my top and lie down on the table. He unhooks my bra, works his magic, and then hooks my bra up again for me. This was the fellow who jolted me out of my complacency a few months…

Good for you! Well done. I've never been a runner - more of a swimmer - but I'm planning to start C25K shortly. I have some issues with my feet just at the moment but it's being sorted, and when it is I'll give running a go. At the moment I am walking about 10kms a day but it takes so long! I figure I'll get a better…

You'll get the hang of it. The suggestion to read widely is a really good one. There's heaps of great information on these pages.

Great job! Love that blue cardigan in the first pic too.

You look AMAZING! And that gorgeous dress is definitely a keeper! Love the earrings too.

Well done!

What an inspirational story! I'm trying to overcome a chronic back problem that had me on the couch for a few years. With the right treatment, and determination on my part, I'm getting there. I've been walking about 10kms a day, including mountain trails on some days. I have been feeling so positive and have even been…

That's excellent! Good for you.

I'd find out who was looking after the dentist with good teeth, and go to that person!

Yay! Well done, you!
