Calling it a "journey" kinda makes me want to puke, but I've been working at educating myself on nutrition and finding healthy outlets for stress (outside of eating) for about a year now. No deadline, no unrealistic expectations. My weight has crept down almost 40 lbs.

I've lost 35 lbs, went from 20 to a loose 16 in pants, but no change in shirt (size 22/24). Unfortunately it just comes off where it wants to!

I was fat my whole life, so I don't know what started it. Definitely used food as my hug at the end of the day for ~20 years. I do know what is making me less fat though. Last year I put a lot of emotional work into stopping the guilt related to eating food (whether I overeat or not). It put things in perspective and at…

I've learned that it doesn't have to be all or nothing: if I am not tracking on a certain day, it doesn't mean it has to be a free-for-all. It helped me during a period where I didn't have it in me to log over a 2 month period, no weight gain. Before I started logging on MFP a year ago, if I wasn't losing I was gaining.…

My take is that people crave that instant gratification when putting effort into something. With more weight to lose, you tend to get that instant drop, and a decent rate of loss if you're trying. A lot of people get to that point where it isn't melting off anymore and get discouraged and think they're doing something…

Ovulation, goes up 1-2 lbs for a few days. For TOM, goes up 5-6 lbs for the duration. I specifically weigh myself during TOM for a chuckle

it's about 10 weeks away, so I will say 10 lbs. With all the food and parties that will happen (and a cruise in Nov).... I think it is optimistic :)

I tend to make really bad decisions on my hour-long commute home if I get too hungry and tired. I keep a Fiber One protein bar in my purse, and make sure I have a water or iced tea as well. If nothing else, it keeps me out of the McDonalds drive-thru on the way home, and I make less ravenous decisions when I get home. Plus…

I used to do something similar (you mean like a 400 calorie mocha latte type espresso drink, right?), eating in the morning isn't really my thing. What I do now, that doesn't involve any prep - I buy the Starbucks low calorie iced coffee bottles at the store (50 cals for the bottle), have a greek yogurt and a banana for…

I was upwards of 290 for a while and flew with no issues with needing another seat. Here is an idea though, makes the whole thing less awkward if you aren't going to be sitting next to people you know really well - get a window seat, so any extra bulk can be squished into the window. Avoid the aisle seat like the plague,…

this. this is my #1 petty non-health related reason I want to lose weight. non-plus sized women have 50 stores they can shop in for clothes at the mall and i have .... lane Bryant, yay

I actually just went from morbid obese to obese this past week, and I can assure you, you were not alone in having that be an actual goal :) It feels silly to say to "normal" people who wouldn't understand, but there is a sense of comfort in knowing that now I'm just really fat, but not so fat that I am on the verge of…

I have been at this for a few months now, had a good week for milestones: 1) Total lost over 25 lbs 2) BMI went from morbidly obese to "just" obese It feels even better when you know you're doing it the right way, in a good mindset. Happy Sunday

My mom was the same way... I think she was forcing herself to be supportive and boost body image (because obviously being an a-hole isn't going to actually help anything), then the hurtful comments just flowed out naturally when she wasn't being mindful. I was 10 and she saw my stomach and said I had huge stretchmarks and…
