  • joining the page! I may never be within 500 miles of the PNT but a guy can dream
  • I think the 30 does, but I don't believe the 20 does
  • it's working and you don't feel sick...to each their own say I. Just don't skip out on regularly scheduled visits to your health provider...no more or no less than usual. Congrats!
  • I am willing to go around $400, but obviously would prefer less than that. Do you find yourself using all the tech? I think I have it narrowed down to the Garmin eTrex 20 or 30, the only difference being the 3-axis compass (I carry an old school linsatic) and the altimeter (I know when I've climbed a hill). Shame about the…
  • I have only heard about MSR type and similar white gas stoves having issues in extreme cold (negatvie 20) or extreme altitude (>12,000), neither of which it seems you experienced. I have always had great customer support from MSR (I use their water filters) so I hope they get back to you soon

  • looks like your batting .0 for Washington hikers...to bad as it's a fantastic place to slay some beautiful miles. I can swap (old) stories about the Hoh Rain Forest trails if it makes a difference :)
  • So hard to beat Yellowstone, Denali or Rocky Mountain, but lately I have been tramping around the Coconino and I have to say I am really enjoying it. Highly recommended.
  • Wow five months with no activity but I am throwing in my hat anyway. Hiking is pretty much my only vice and one I'm not willing to give up. Living in S. AZ now and section hiking the AZT until I can quit the rat race and bag it in a thru (maybe a YoYo?) Anyway many miles under the belt and someday hope to be a Triple Crown…
  • Hayduke Lives... I am an avid hiker and am most glad to meet others of similar intent. Please send a FR!
  • Hayduke Lives! You have great plans...envious. I'm section hiking the Arizona Trail now which is easy since I live in Tucson, and want to give up the rat-race so I can follow in your footsteps. I hope to wear the Triple Crown before I can't walk anymore. Not aware of any hiker-centric groups here, but if you get a good…
  • Can you explain the logic of skipping squats and lunges? Not trying to be a snark but my understanding is coming up short
  • thank you for making my point for me
  • Careful...he has over 18k posts. Obviously at this point he has memorized every line ever written by anyone on MFP, so knows what is best for you
