Most grocery stores post tabs on what products are gluten free now (my city market does this), this helps make choices a little easier. They also sell gluten free breads in the frozen section. I would do research online and look for books. Oh, and there are tons of gluten free cook books out there now a days. I bet they…

It is truly up to -you- on how strict you want your diet/lifestyle to be. You don't have to be a slave to what some diet(or someone) tells you on what you can or cannot eat. Do your own research and experiment with what lifestyle you feel most happy with. I personally believe in eating only natural and organic foods and…

You could be within your calories range, but I think it really comes down to -what- you are eating. It is not always about the calorie content. I suggest be mindful of your carb and sugar intake as well as calories, and read your ingredients; look at what you are actually putting into your body. Good luck!

I personally prefer constructive criticism over non-constructive/semi destructive opinions. :) We don't have to 'bash', or if you prefer a more professional terminology, give 'destructive criticism' to someone who wants to try something new. Just saying... Have a great day everyone! :) I'm going out to enjoy the sun!…

The reason I'm on MFP now is to track carbs, fat, protein, and sugar; not calories. I just check in to track every once in awhile to make sure I'm not eating too little carbs. I like to maintain 100 - 150. Good luck with your plan. Be kind, and don't bash people's life choices. It is like you are saying 'don't be gay…

Depends on what spices you have...But this sounds yummy. It is a basic shrimp pasta. http://www.ehow.com/how_2307220_make-shrimp-pasta.html

Oh, you are awesome! I will share this with my co-worker. Thank you very much.

This is from someone who was doing it. It is an interesting read as well, and has some good Q&A and comments. http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/health-fitness/26076-30-day-trial-drinking-hydrogen-peroxide.html

Yea, I told her this too. She didn't even know about this trick. But apparently 'food grade' quality is different somehow? With stabilizers or somthing. It's used to treat water I think. But still...I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole!

This is what I'm thinking! None of the websites has any reasearch to back anything up and I'm trying hard to persuade my co-worker not to do it, but I fear she will anyways. She says this friend is in her upper 50's and looks 20 years younger than she is.

My thought process is this: It really depends on what kind of diet you are on and what kind of exercises you are doing. You want to work out your entire body not only to burn calories but to also tone and shape. I do aerobic core exercises at least 3-4 times a week and I’m constantly moving (walking the dog every day,…

I would go with anything organic. Read the ingredients closely and look for a peanut butter that has raw peanuts. I personally use almond butter. I only pick out ones that list the one and only ingredient as 'raw almonds'. I then use pure maple syrup or agave nectar to sweeten it to taste.

I would be very mindful of your sugar intake since you are trying to loose weight. Excess sugar can be turned into fat. Sugar was also the main culprit for my GERD and joint inflammation. "There are two ways that sugar can sabotage your body and cause fat storage. Excess glucose is the first problem, and it involves a very…

Do you mean that you are -over- your sugar limit by 89?

I believe it is similar to the ‘Primal Blueprint’ lifestyle. Basically you are staying away from processed/chemically altered carbs and sugar (more or less what I call 'junk foods') and you are eating more organic veggies, oils, and better quality organic meats and wild caught fish; thus you lose weight depending on your…

My feet use to go numb just walking the dog or running for more than 10 minutes. I now use arch support insoles and have not had this issue since then.

Yikes, 20 to 40 is extremely low to me, no wonder you are feeling bad. I say 20 to 40 is fine when you are not active. I would suggest for you to bump your carb intake to at least 100. (more veggie carbs, less processed/grain carbs) I bet you will feel much better, and I promise you will still lose weight! I keep my carb…

I use a kettlebell for all of my Golds Gym work out dvds. There are tons of exercises/movements you can do with a kettlebell! I love it. I can't personally explain all of them to you right now, but I would suggest doing a Google or You Tube search on kettlebell work outs and see what you can find. Good luck!

Strait up! I love to peel and eat a whole avacado as is; like you would an apple. I LOVE the taste. I also use them in, well..everything.., but especially in steamed Zucc. & Squash tacos. It compliments the veggies.

I had a brief vegan moment not too long ago after learning about factory farming and how bad quality commercial meat is. I tried it for a month and it is hard at first, but it got easier once you knew what you can eat(Boca has alot of tasty soy-vegan products!) and where to find it in the store. I also had removed all…

Check this out; you might be interested in the 'Primal lifestyle': http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-primal-carbohydrate-continuum/ I keep my carb intake somewhere between 80 and 100 for weight loss and I have seen major improvements with my overall health by staying away from any processed/grain carbs and sticking to…

I bring in my own So Delicious Coconut Milk with Vanilla and have them use it in a Tall Chai Tea Latte with no water. Yum! Cal: 161 (tazo chai tea – 26, coconut milk – 135) Carb: 21 (tazo chai tea – 6, coconut milk - 15 Fat: 8 (coconut milk) Protein: 2 (coconut milk) Sugar: 17 (tazo chai tea – 6, coconut milk – 11) Sat…

I personally will stay away from any pre-sweeten/fruit yogurt and get plain-ole-jane greek yogurt instead. I sweeten it myself with real raw/unfiltered sugar, raw honey or agave nectar. I rather have the real deal than some fake 'sweetener', and I'm able to control the sweet taste. I don't put sugar in my coffee. Edit: Oh,…

Well said and I agree! I believe processed foods/drinks are junk no matter if they are classified as 'diet' or not. Everyone should seriously sit down and read what you are eating and drinking. I think this is what Grokette is trying to imply here. Open your eyes and do an internet search on any ingredient you don’t know…

Agreed! Just put the bananas in a bowl, take a fork and mash them up (or take a hand blender/wisk to it) throw it in the freezer. Wa-la.

I have a co worker who does herbalife and she has lost weight and has kept it off. BUT, she maintains a healthy eating diet and exercise regime with it. I believe what she did at first was replace her morning meal with a shake (with additional fruits or veggies), or had it as an extra or post work out snack. She used it…

My initial thought was 'maybe the dog isn't getting enough exercise'. How much exercise does she get daily? Younger, highly active dogs should get about 90 minutes of exercise a day. I wouldn't think golden would have bad separation anxiety, but it’s possible. Does she bark and act anxious when you leave? Do you provide…

My thoughts are this: It is not just about losing weight; it’s also about –changing- & -shaping- your body. Even if you reach your 'goal weight', you may still need to work on toning your muscle to get where you want. I reached a weight range I'm very happy with, but I'm not happy with the way I 'look' (in a bikini, no…

Hi Jazyjen, You can learn about it here, http://www.marksdailyapple.com/ I'm in the middle of reading his book. It's quite a remarkable concept that makes sense, to me anyways. :) It incorporates eating only 'plants(lots of organic veggies and fruits and nuts) and animals(good quality: grass fed, wild caught, ect)' and…

I had the same problem at first, and I even thought the same thing! It’s a learning experience for sure, but you can do it by adjusting your eating habits. It took me a couple weeks to figure things out and change up my meal plans; even then, I still have trouble some days, But I found having plenty of nuts and avocados…
