The most effective cleanse I ever did was salmonella. Takes the weight right off.

The whole "I wish I was your first," thing is super, ultra creepy. Virginity is not some prize to be awarded... and neither is your daughter. YOU are being super, ultra creepy. This is why the guy is trying not to come face to face with you: you're beating your chest like a silverback with all your talk of A REAL MAN and…

Like others have said, it gets to be less work as you go. If you're eating out at chains, all those food items should be in the database. When you're at home, you can scan foods that have barcodes on the packages, and build recipes for things you eat a lot and then reuse them over and over. (I eat the same two things for…

Only if it's okay with the cheeseburger.

That's a big ol' red flag.

As I lost weight I discovered that my collarbones don't match. Bodies are weird.

XD I don't want to pick on you for word choice, but that is one handsy protein shake!

You can have my tuna salad sandwiches when you take them from my cold, dead hands. Don't go picking on tuna salad. :P

Purely anecdata, but DBF walked a couple miles in the cold after giving blood and nearly passed out at the wheel afterward (he managed to park without hitting either the neighbor's car or ours), got out, fell and hit his face on the back of the van, knocking a piece off a front tooth, and then passed out cold on the porch.…

Well, if we're providing anecdotes, thanks to pagophagia (ice pica) I spent six years of my life sneaking ice chips out of the nasty, never-cleaned ice maker in the work fridge. Even after I found what I think were coffee grounds in the ice. I COULD NOT pass the lunch room without getting some ice. And thanks to…

I don't have any helpful advice, but I do have hot cider in my sinuses now. XD

To hear my grandfather talk, the military diet was a lot of SOS.

Left over Ronzoni ancient grains spaghetti with some chili garlic sauce stirred in... and an omelette.

Already have a somewhat chubby white man of my own, thanks.

Welcome to the club; I've been on a low-sodium diet since 2002. A lot of frozen meals and foods are high in sodium, as are many canned foods. (Frozen veggies, however, generally don't have salt added like canned ones do.) Even things like breakfast cereal can have ridiculous amounts of sodium. The biggest change I had to…

It's a good thing I took your advice and give zero hoots what you think.

It shouldn't be unrealistic to recognize that when people DO act like jerks, it can hurt because humans are social creatures. Neither should it be unrealistic to be able to call jerks out on their behavior rather than telling people "Just don't feel the way you do!"
-
For clarification, then, is the OP the only one with responsibility in the situation she described?
-
You seemed to be placing the onus on the original poster ("don't be pushed back by messages from random internet strangers").

I weigh on a daily basis for medical reasons, but I set up an Excel spreadsheet to show the overall trend so the day-to-day changes don't feel so big.
-
So it's okay to be a jerk because people shouldn't be so sensitive?
-
Can't speak to coconut oil (but since it's said to have magical powers I doubt it does anything people claim) but I've been taking biotin for a few years to counteract the effects some of my medications have on my hair and nails, and I lost no weight at all until I started counting calories.

Blessed are the blockquoters.

There are lots worse things I could have had, and I survived, so no real complaints. :)

Well, the tubal ligation thing didn't work out (lots of scar tissue in my abdominal cavity due to earlier things...) so that's my best hope. I have a couple of coworkers who said that honestly, aside from the hot flashes, theirs wasn't so bad, so I'm hoping it works out that way for me too.

I'm just waiting for the clock to run out and hoping my health conditions mean early menopause!
-
XD Congratulations? (Reason #473 I'm never, ever having kids...)

I'm a 36A no matter what my weight. THAT's not fair. :P
