  • I've worked in an Indian restaurant for 4 years and I've tried everything on their menu in that time.... The Tandoori options are the healthier options because they use less ghee, but all the other pan fried stuff is cooked in it.... Personally, speaking as someone who has lost over 150lb and eaten restaurant cooked Indian…
  • 150lb = The complete O.E.D - Oxford English Dictionary, plus 11lb = an average house cat... :drinker: xXx
  • Congratulations, you look fantastic.... Giving up alcohol isn't easy and kudos to you for managing it. Keep up the good work my friend, you have started an incredible journey and I wish you every success on the rest of it. xXx
  • Hi, Good luck with your journey, I started my journey in November 2012, I weighed 321lb - today I weight 160lb, I still have 10lb to lose, but I'm not in a rush, it will come off in it's own sweet time. Here are some of the most important things I've learned along the way are: 1) Be kind to yourself 2) It took years to put…
  • Shelled Hemp - I was looking for something to add to my food, to increase my protein intake (as I can't eat too many eggs and I'm not a big meat eater) and it was recommended to me; when I first saw it I thought it looked a bit odd and Hemp is Cannabis isn't it!?! Yes it is cannabis, but there is more than one type and…
  • "I may not be able to change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to reach my destination." Jimmy Dean I have this tattooed across the top of my back and it is also my quote on my MFP account, to me it describes my weight loss journey. xXx
  • Hi, I don't know what to say, but I just needed to post a comment on your story.... It was heartbreaking and awe-inspiring.... Wow I am so pleased that you're making progress, getting your life back and looking so beautiful. Congratulations to you. xXx
  • Any weight loss/fitness program or App is only as good as the effort you put into it.... The questions should be.... "Are you willing to commit to My Fitness Pal and log your food honestly?" "Are you willing and able to make a commitment to creating a new lifestyle for yourself - therefore improving your chances of…
  • Tell his brother to go f**k himself.... What the hell is HIS problem, apart from the *kitten* of a sibling he's protecting.... Get out of there,YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME.... Your other half has clearly got issues - drunk is not a reason, an excuse or any form of justification for his appalling behaviour....!! Please seek advice…
  • Because apparently I'm obsessed with exercise and calorie counting.... xXx
  • I am not a die hard believer in CICO because it isn't as cut & dry as that - but there is a lot to be said in favour of it, because consistantly eating more than I'm burning got me to 145.6kg - 331lb - 22st 13lb.... I have Coeliacs & one thing is for sure, my body can't absorb too much protein (as well as gluten); if I…
  • I'm 40 (41 in 6 weeks) & I started on my journey in November 2012, shortly after I turned 39. I alternate between: Day 1: Upper Body Routine - 105 minutes Day 2: 90 minutes Walking Day 3: Lower Body Routine - 85 minutes Day 4: 90 minutes Walking Day 5: Cardio Blast Routine - 90 minutes Day 6: 90 minutes Walking Day 7:…
  • A cockroach can live for a week without its head. Due to their open circulatory system, and the fact that they breathe through little holes in each of their body segments, they are not dependent on the mouth or head to breathe.... xXx
  • Hopefully this will work, as I've never previously had any success with posting pictures.... xXx
  • I'm 5ft 7 and I find losing weight quite simple, whereas my 6ft 10 husband finds losing weight more of a challenge.... I go to the gym 6 days out of 7, I enjoy salads and veggies, whereas he works a desk job, dislikes most veggies and doesn't use the gym because the opening times clash with his working hours and plus he is…
  • Naivety.... I stopped believing all the b*llsh*t and went out there and found out for myself what works and how I am the only person who can make or break my weight loss success.... xXx
  • Hi, I was on the waiting list for the bypass (in the UK) and back in January 2013 I had to make the decision whether to go ahead and have surgery or do it naturally.... I went for natural weight loss and my ticker speaks for itself.... Personally I wouldn't go for surgery - see how far you can go doing it naturally, if you…
  • Calories can't tell the time.... Maybe you're eating too many calories in general, regardless of the time of day or night. Try re-evaluating your calorie goals & hopefully it will get your weight moving, but 4-5lb a week is a bit ambitious to expect every week. xXx

  • I'm 5ft 7.... Highest weight 321lb (145.6kg) - 15th November 2012. Lowest weight 159.8lb (72.5kg) - 30th August 2014 xXx
  • Hi, Try looking on: http://glutenfreehope.blogspot.co.uk/ there are some really good gluten free recipes on there. xXx
  • I've been eating at a deficit for 21 months now, losing over 150lb & my muscle mass has increased by about 13% in this time (sorry can't remember the exact figure) so it is possible to build muscle in a calorie deficit - it always has been, but I don't restrict my calories a great deal - so long as the numbers remain…
  • Hi, I met my (now) husband on meetic.com in January 2004.... We're very happy and the site was pretty good, so yes I'd recommend that particular site. xXx
  • I like it and as I'm Coeliac it the closest thing I can have to cous cous (which I also love) because I don't always want rice or gluten free pasta. lol xXx
  • At first I was embarrassed by all the attention and hated people talking about it, but now, I don't mind so much, plus now that I've almost finished my journey it's old news and people have started laying off, I only get the occasional comment these days, and they're usually quite complimentary, so I can live with it. I…
  • You look fantastic - well done xXx
  • No I like that number lol .... I want to lose 175lb in total. xXx
  • Hi OP, You say gluten free bread, so I'm guessing you're either wheat intolerant or Coeliac..... I'm Coeliac and I love porridge, so I have 50g of porridge oats (Tesco Everyday Value don't seem to upset me so I happily take the risk and save a few pennies) 250ml skimmed milk, 10g 74% cocoa chocolate and 30g shelled hemp…
  • I totally agree with FTW. I've gone from visible to invisible, I used to get abuse from kids in the street and people would look down at me when I was 321lb - nowadays I walk in the room and I don't even get a raised eyebrow, kids no longer shout abuse at me when I walk down the road, the only attention I get is the odd…
