  • Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I've been so drained lately. I talked to a nurse coworker about it, and I think I am going to get some B vitamins to see if that will perk me up. @7lenny7 When I worked in a prison, we had a neighborhood right next to it (although I have no idea why anyone would want to live 500 ft…
  • Pretty shoes @eleanorhawkins! Sorry about the blisters. Maybe try some different socks to keep them from running? @polskagirl01 Fresh raspberries sound yummy! I got in my two runs today to catch me up for the week. First run was at 5:30 this morning in the rain. 5 min Z1, 30 min Z2, 5 min Z1 = 3.29 miles. Second run was 5…
  • I ended up going to bed shortly after my post last night and did not run. I ran yesterday's run this morning and will run today's run tomorrow morning, followed by tomorrow's run in the evening. That is the plan at least. 3.24 miles this morning.I also went to Pump tonight. July total: 42.17 miles
  • I am so sleepy this evening. Someone send me some energy to go do my run because otherwise I'll have a two run day later this week.
  • Today’s long run was 8 miles. It was about 76 degrees and humid, but overcast for the first 6 miles, so not awful. My pace in Z2 was better than it has been for most of my recent runs in that zone, so I’m feeling really good about that.
  • Today was a busy day workout-wise. I started with my Pump class at the gym, and then a friend and I went to a yoga class held in the green space at one of the breweries. Run-wise, today was a recovery run (stay in Z1), so I did an easy jog/walk this evening for two miles.
  • @Teresa502 That is awful! Thursday was another foundation run, but it was about 10 degrees warmer, definitely impacting my pace. Yesterday morning called for hill repeats. 5 min Z1, 5 min Z2, then 10x (30s Z5 uphill, 1:30 Z1 down), 5 min Z1. I made sure to do those early to combat the daily heat and storms. Speaking of…
  • @martaindale Yes, I've got sharp cheddar cheese sticks, and for the crunch factor, roasted chickpeas. I love making them because I can season them so many ways for variety. Tonight's run was a 40 minute foundation run - 5 min Z1, 30 min Z2, 5 min Z1. This is the most frequent run I have to do (2-3x/week), and I can say I…
  • Love your photos, @quilteryoyo!
  • 4.05 miles this morning before work. Plan called for a "fast finish" - 5 min Z1, 30 min Z2, 12 min Z3. It was very humid, but at least I beat the heat (it was 74 at 5:30). I had hoped to go to my Pump class tonight, but I got a work call at the end of the day, and I ended up running too late to make it. I am going to try…
  • @ContraryMaryMary I love your pictures! @eleanorhawkins I get anxious running with others too sometimes. I hope you go and that you really enjoy it! Today is rest day following yesterday's long run. I may go for a short walk or do some yoga later for some active recovery. Also, Happy 4th to everyone in the U.S.!
  • Today's plan called for a 12 mile long run - 1 mi Z1, 10.5 mi Z2, .5mi Z1. I decided to go to a park near the river to run to mix up the scenery. I didn't set an alarm to get up early, so I started much later than planned, and it ended up going from 75 to 90 degrees while I was out there. It helped that most of the trails…
  • I hope you have a great time in Hawaii, @martaindale! I hope to visit sometime. Aww, happy birthday Hobbes! So cute! I could never get either of mine to sit there with a hat! I worked late yesterday, so I missed my run, but I did both runs from yesterday and today this morning. First was hill repeats (5 min Z1, 5 min Z2,…
  • I'm so behind this week. Life has been so busy. I missed a run earlier this week, but I ended up with 92.3 miles for June. Great job on your race @7lenny7! The elevation on your next run is insane! @polskagirl01, I’m glad your race went well despite not feeling great. That medal is very pretty. Love your hiking pictures…
  • Congrats to everyone who has met their running goals or had great runs this weekend! Today’s plan called for 10 miles - 1 mile Z1, 8.5 miles Z2, .5 miles Z3. It was about 73 degrees when I started, so not awful, but definitely humid, and I was drenched when I finished. I saw several baby bunnies while I was out. I am a bit…
  • Have a safe drive @quilteryoyo! Those are some beautiful photos, @ContraryMaryMary!
  • I hope your race went well @7lenny7! @RunsOnEspresso I've never heard of Picky Bars. I'll have to look into it. From what you guys have described, it sounds like tasty stuff. Yesterday morning, I did hill repeats before work. It was in the 70s, so it was as comfortable as it was going to get for the day temps wise. This…
  • @eleanorhawkins I'm sorry that your trip did not go as planned. *hugs* @martaindale That is really frustrating about owners who let their dogs walk off-leash. Even if you think you know your dog's temperament, you never know who/what you might come across that throws them off and makes them act aggressively. My neck/upper…
  • Great job on your race, @katharmonic! Those temps sound great to me, @ContraryMaryMary. My office building's air conditioning went out yesterday, so my director and I decided to send everyone home to work remotely for the rest of yesterday and today while it is being repaired. Since I got home early, I was able to go to…
  • Since I missed the 60 degree weather yesterday morning, I did my Foundation Run last night in 95 degrees. It really wasn’t that bad, and I actually had a better pace than when I did the same run last week in the morning. I again intended to do a run this morning, but I am sitting here typing instead. I feel like I have…
  • My long run yesterday was 7 miles for the cutback. The temperature was in the low 70s and was fairly comfortable. After, I showered and drove almost 2 hours to visit my parents for a few hours for Father’s Day. I set my alarm for 5am today, but I hit snooze and didn’t get up. Now, I wish I had because it is only 65…
  • @polskagirl01 Even if it was slow, you did it, so good for you! We all have off days. I'm sure your HM will be great. Also love your pictures! I did my "Foundation Run" (zones 1-2) on the track at the gym, followed by my Pump class. This afternoon, I am going to a "Pints and Paint" class, so we'll see what I manage to…
  • So, I will definitely be in the video. It will be presented to the RnR committee when they visit next month as part of the presentation to try to win the race for our city. The premise of the video is that our mayor was going around town on a truck with his "runner band" recruiting people to run with him. People would join…
  • @katharmonic I love your Spartan pictures! @7lenny7 You will have to definitely come and do RnR if we get it. Macon has so much music history, and I love visiting the Big House periodically. I have tried to do my runs in the mornings before work to avoid the heat, but it is still in the 80s at 5am! One morning, I just…
  • @7lenny7 So glad you don't have to have surgery! @AlphaHowls That is about what the temps were for me early this morning too. I was completely drenched at 5:30am due to the humidity. But, I'd rather run at that temp than the 98F it reached here this afternoon. Why did I decide to marathon train over the summer again?!?!
  • @eleanorhawkins and @7lenny7 I'm so sorry that both of you were hurt but glad that it wasn't worse for either of you. @katharmonic Great job on your Spartan races! I've been so busy and tired for the last week that I haven't posted. I did all of my runs last week except one, which I ended up doing this morning instead…
  • @RunsOnEspresso You are definitely NTA. Just because she won’t put her dog on a leash does not mean that you have to go out of your way to avoid or ensure the dog doesn’t run. 8 miles this morning - 1 mi Z1, 6.5 mi Z2, .5 mi Z1. I wore my shirt that says, “After this, we’re getting tacos,” so of course I had to make tacos…
  • I can't stand people who aren't in control of their dogs. I also hate people who will walk up or allow their children to walk up and pet my dogs without asking me. My dogs are generally good-natured, but they are both old and sometimes don't want to be bothered. I've had to ask people to stop a few times, especially with…
  • @Scott6255 and @shanaber, yes it was definitely @AlphaHowls-inspired crazy laps! Yesterday morning was speed work. 5 min Z1, 5 min Z2, 6x 1 min Z5 and 2 min z1, 5 min Z1 for a total of 2.04 miles. It was nice and cool, but my neighbor’s little dog, who was taken out to potty, decided to start running after me. I had to…
  • I slept poorly last night, so I didn't get up to run as planned this morning. It was storming when I got home, so I just jogged around my living room and kitchen to get in my 40 minutes Z2 run. At least I got it in! I am hoping that my lack of sleep plus the exercise will knock me out tonight. June miles: 3.95
