Awesome job @eleanorhawkins! @Teresa502 I’m glad your father’s surgery went well. My half zip was from the Wineglass Marathon last year.

Good afternoon everyone! I haven't been on much in the last week because I was dealing with what we assume was the flu (I was covid negative), so I was sleeping a lot more than normal and no running until today. I had registered for the Museum of Aviation 5K and decided yesterday that I felt well enough that I would try to…

Amazing job @martaindale! I was following your progress all morning! I think I am coming down with something - sinus issues, achy - and knew I couldn’t manage a run, so I did a slow 3 mile walk instead just to get out of the house.

Ok, so I wrote this and thought I had posted yesterday, but it was still sending in the comment box this morning… :D On the eating before morning running topic, I usually don't eat if it is a fairly short run, but for more than 5 miles or for a race, I will usually eat toast with peanut butter. I like to run in the…

The run on my plan for today had me doing speed work. Because I have been slack for several months, I did not maintain the desired pace on all of the speed parts, but I did my best and ended up with 4 miles. January running: 4 miles Walking and running total: 5.6 miles

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry I keep going MIA. Ever since my marathon went poorly, I have been in such a running funk. I feel so much better (health-wise and mental health-wise) when I am running though, so I started following a 10K plan last week that has me running 3-4 times per week. I do have a goal of walking at…

I started a Hal Higdon half training plan today to potentially run the Museum of Aviation half in mid-January. Today's run was 3 miles easy. It is overcast and cool here, so it felt pretty good while I was out. @Fit2btied2016 If you are shooting for a 5k race, I would try to stick with a plan that is made for 5ks. A 10k…

My new plan calls for 59 miles, so I am going to round up to 60. October was slow for me after my marathon, so I'm hoping to kick things back into gear in November.

Hey everyone! I know I've been MIA for several weeks. I have been really busy, and I honestly have not run a ton since my marathon - maybe only four or five times. I did run a 10K today that I run every year. I finished 4/7 in my age group, but it was definitely one of my slower 10K races. I know I said I wanted to take…

Happy Friday, everyone! @jane_76 I’m sorry to hear about the meniscus tear. I hope the exercises help out. No running for me this week, although hubby and I did a short hike to a waterfall, and I’ve been walking my in-laws’ dog for them to get in some active recovery.

I think I am going to take a break from long distance running for a bit and try to focus on improving 5K and 10K times. I am also going to get back into a weight loss plan to take off about 15 pounds - I ate way too much during marathon training.

I also see that on our running challenge, we should head into Macon, GA in the next day or two. Macon has a ton of music history as the home of the Allman Brothers, Otis Redding, and Little Richard. Macon is also home to the Ocmulgee Mounds. The area has been continuously habituated for over 12,000 years. The mounds are…

Good morning all! Well, I finished Wineglass yesterday, although it did not go as planned at all. The weather could not have been more perfect. 48F and sunny at the start, which was chilly at the start line but felt great after we got going. The first half went really well and I was on track to make my goal finish time. My…

My only goal for the month is to finish Sunday’s marathon. I would also like to do a 10K race at the end of the month.

Hey everyone! I have skimmed through but have been busy for the last week. We flew up to NY yesterday and went to Corning today to pick up my race packet and have lunch. I also took a short run near my in-laws house. Pics in spoiler. I will make sure to post a good report after Sunday’s race.

My allergies have decided to ramp into high gear yesterday and today, despite my daily Claritin. I felt awful last night and took Theraflu before bed. 5am rolled around, and I got up to run, but my head throbbed, and I was nauseous from the sinus meds. Of course, there is a high pollen alert this morning. I ended up doing…

@Scott6255 The race is two weeks from tomorrow. The 18 is less than the 20 miles of last week, but it isn’t so much the mileage as much as doing it with intervals that is a bit stressful at this point.

@7lenny7 Congrats on your race! @polskagirl I’m glad you weren’t hurt when your bike crashed. Also, cute signs for your kids. Awesome pictures @eleanorhawkins! @quilteryoyo Your neighbor’s baby is very cute! Also, congratulations on your step-granddaughter’s baby! Sounds like a great trip, @martaindale. The magnetic LEDs…

Thank goodness that 20 miles is over! I slept horribly the last couple of nights (thank you stress over everything!) and really wasn't feeling great this morning. I ended up doing 13.3 this morning and then taking a break for a few hours and going back out to finish. The break seemed to help, as I felt a lot better during…

@yirara I’m sorry about your ankle! I hope it heals quickly. @martaindale Have a great trip!!! @7lenny7 I was wondering where you’ve been and when we would get that race report! I hope your race today went great! On Thursday evening I completed a foundation run for 3.7 miles. Yesterday morning, I completed my "Finish…

@polskagirl01 I'm glad a few people showed up for the track workouts. Hopefully, it will continue and grow. Welcome @lou2you2! @martaindale Chania is so beautiful. Hubby went there a few times while in the military, and then we had a stop there on a cruise about 10 years ago. The water so beautiful and clear. @kgirlhart…

I just saw on the news where they have found a body close to where the runner was abducted, although they haven’t confirmed it is her yet.
-
@polskagirl01 Nothing wrong with redoing your plan! I don't think anyone can be an embarrassment if he or she is out there trying their best. I hope you are able to get your groups to start the meet-ups again. I can see where that would be frustrating.

No, this was the Labor Day Road Race in Macon. I just looked up the Big Peach 10K, and that looks fun too! We had a TON of people from the Atlanta Track Club at our race. I wonder why they didn't run Big Peach since that would be local for all of them?

This morning's race went pretty well. It POURED rain all night, and some of the weather models showed rain for this morning too, but fortunately the rain held off, although there were dark clouds and some misting. Boy was it humid though! I had no intention of really racing today. I figured that after Saturday's long run,…

Welcome back @katharmonic! I’m sorry you’ve had so many stressors lately. I hope things calm down for you soon. @eleanorhowkins Great job on your race! Cutting off 10 minutes on a more difficult route is amazing! @martaindale Happy Birthday! I’m sorry your teen was sick, but I hope everyone is able to feel better and enjoy…

@tarun_yadavA Great job on your run! I'm not a huge ice cream person, but during my run this morning, I thought that a milkshake might be good, so I did get a peach milkshake from Chick-fil-a after. @shanaber Looks like Hobbes and Beaux are having a good time together. :) Good job on your foundation run @quilteryoyo. I ran…

My goal for September is to stay healthy while I train for my marathon on October 2nd. My plan goes by time instead of miles except for long runs, and I'll taper, so I have no idea what my mileage will be. Oh, did I mention I signed up for our local Labor Day race? It is a 10K that I normally run every year. I am going to…

Monday was a recovery run of 2.66 miles to follow my 16 miler. Yesterday called for 64 minutes of intervals, so to beat the heat (and to make it to my Pump class in the evening), I got up at 4:30 to do it before driving to Atlanta. I ended up with 5.13 miles. Today was another recovery run for 2.45 miles. The rest of the…

@tarun_yadavA Great job on your runs! That is impressive mileage for the month. @Teresa502 I know I say it every time you post about your hikes, but I’m so jealous and miss backpacking! @eleanorhawkins Great job on your long run! I hope that ice cream was just the medicine you needed. :) @polskagirl01 What an interesting…
