So exciting that @quilteryoyo and @Teresa502 were able to meet! @kgirlhart Congrats on your race! Awesome job! @quilteryoyo My hike was at Providence Canyon State Park in Georgia.

Went on a nice, leisurely 4ish mile hike with a friend today. It rained on my 2 hour drive there but fortunately eased up while we were out. It created a bit of mud on the mostly red clay paths.

Yesterday’s scheduled run was a steady state run at a 8:43-9:03 pace for 10 minutes. With warmup and cool down, I ran 2.83 miles. Today, I will be hiking instead of running. One of my best friends lives about 4 hours away, so we decided to meet in the middle for the day. 11/1: 4.43 11/4: 2.56 11/6: 2.83 9.82/50 miles

I’ve been running for about 8 years and have seen a gradual improvement, with steps back at times too. I’m seeing some improvements recently, which is why I am purposefully focusing on continuing to improve those times. I don’t know how long this window will last, but I want to capitalize on it. I sure don’t have…

Hope you had a great birthday, @katharmonic! Welcome, @kimbeers! What a pretty run, @polskagirl01! @ContraryMaryMary, I am so happy that you are in a better place about your run, and I hope Kerikeri goes amazing. I’m so not feeling this time change. I only ran for half an hour after work last night, but it was already dark…

Yesterday’s plan called for 5 minute warmup, 40 minutes easy, 5 minute cool down. It was overcast with temps in the mid 50s, so it felt pretty nice. I ended up with 4.43 miles. I then did a 1 hour outdoor yoga class last night. 11/1: 4.43 4.43/50 miles

@ContraryMaryMary I understand your disappointment about not meeting your goal, but I am glad to see that you recognize the progress you HAVE made. It shows that you have been working hard.
-
I’m in for 50 miles. Still working on my Garmin plan to improve 5k time, so no super long runs.
-
I ran the Trek or Treat 5k yesterday, which is the first in-person race I’ve seen here in awhile. They asked everyone to wear masks until the race started, and everyone stood a good distance apart while awaiting the awards ceremony. My fastest 5k before yesterday had been 27:31, and my recent goal has been to improve on…

@rheddmobile I hope it isn’t a flare up. I hate that the ER was so backed up. Take it easy. @shanaber Glad your injury wasn’t worse! Thanks for setting up November.

I didn’t run again last night. I still had a bad headache, although not to the level of Wednesday night. Since the migraines are becoming more frequent again, I think I am soon going to need to visit a doctor to look at getting back on migraine meds. Tomorrow, I have a 5k, so let’s hope I am in better shape by then! A cold…

@quilteryoyo I’m so sorry they postponed your surgery. I know the waiting just makes things worse. @eleanorhawkins I’m glad your dad is doing well!
-
@eleanorhawkins I am glad your dad’s surgery went well. I hope he gets good results. No run for me last night. I had an awful migraine that started at work and continued throughout the evening. It isn’t totally gone this morning, but I am going to try to go to work for at least part of the day to get a few big things done.…

I finally got in my “long run” yesterday afternoon. Garmin coach had me do a 10 minute warmup, 30 minutes at 10:11-11:11 pace, and 10 minute cool down. Not bad at all. No runs scheduled again until Wednesday, so I guess I will try to get in a walk and maybe some yoga tonight. Hubby has decided when he returns from…

Yesterday’s plan was a short 5 minutes warmup, 20 at 10:11-11:11 pace, 5 minutes cool down. I had guests coming after lunch, so the short run worked out well. My friend group had our annual pumpkin carving party. We have done it for most of the last 15 years. Three of us have always done it, and then spouses and a couple…

@HonuNui Love the pictures! @Teresa502 What awesome support! Good luck! @katharmonic Beautiful! Last night, I was scheduled to run 10 minutes warmup, 6x 400m at 8:31-8:51 with 200m recovery, and 10 minutes cool down. I lost track of the intervals and almost started running a 7th one but glanced at my watched and noticed it…

On last night’s Garmin trainer agenda was 5 minute warmup, 30 minutes “easy” at a 10:11-11:11 pace, then 5 minute cool down. I ended up with 3.61 miles. My biggest struggle was going too fast - my watch kept buzzing at me to slow down. Tonight will be a rest night with maybe some light weights or stretching if I feel like…

Thanks for the feedback on the Garmin training. Last night was the benchmark run. I’ll give it a few weeks and see how it goes. I don’t have anything for which I am actually training, just wanted some time improvement, so we’ll see if I stick with it the whole 12 weeks. I also completed a Tabata workout last night. Trying…

Ended up waking yesterday afternoon since I didn’t feel up to running. Has anyone used the Garmin training plans? I decided to try to improve my 5k time since I am burned out on long distances, so I signed up for “Coach Greg.” Looks like the plan adjusts according to your progress each run, so I guess like Hal? I start…

I’ve skimmed through the last few days. Hugs to all who need them, and high-fives to everyone who has had races and excellent runs! Spent the last few days at my parents’ house following my dad’s discharge following surgery. He was doing much better than expected. I got roped into putting together and moving furniture for…

If any of you are Amazon Prime members, they are having some good deals on Garmins right now. I had been wanting a new watch to replace my Forerunner 245, and I was able to order a Vivoactive 4s for $199 - they are usually $350. Pump last night, but no run. Things are busy busy.
-
I’m so glad it went well yesterday, @quilteryoyo! Two mile run last night. I wasn’t able to get started until after 7pm, so it was starting to get dark. Tonight is supposed to be Pump, but I will try to get in a couple of treadmill miles after.
-
5 miles walking yesterday - Got a phone call and figured walking 5 miles is better than waiting and getting in 0 miles later. Signed up last night for an in-person 5k on Halloween.
-
Completed my class at the gym, and then I did 2 miles around my neighborhood. Cleaned the house, and now I am contemplating a nap.
-
To the anonymous donor - you are so kind and thoughtful to do that for everyone! Thank you! @Camaramandy648 and @rheddmobile Thanks to both of you again for everything you have done. I’m not going to complain any more this week. It is the weekend, and I’m just going to focus on ME. Guess what, I reached my weight loss goal…

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. Let’s just say I am not a fan of people who don’t work in mental health, who don’t even work at my prison, try to dictate how we need to diagnose/treat clients because of their own political agenda. 😡 Got home on time last night, but only got in one mile and a little bit of strength…

Yesterday was a crap day, like I thought about just walking out of work bad. Today isn’t going to be too much better, I don’t think. I ended up working over two extra hours, and running just wasn’t going to happen when I got home last night. Maybe I’ll make it home early enough tonight.
-
@Avidkeo, I hope your pain is just a little soreness from working that muscle for the first time in awhile. Listen to your body though! 3 miles and some ab work last night. Got a few stressful things going on, so I didn’t sleep well. My mind is going everywhere. 🙁

Yesterday morning was 55F and clear skies, so I headed to some local trails. I took my time and stopped some to take pictures, look at animals, etc., but I finished with 4 miles.

I have been very fortunate to not have any running related injuries other than a shin splint. My worst illness though happened my senior year of college. I felt awful and kept throwing up, so I went to the campus clinic. They gave me an antibiotic, which didn’t help, so they then sent me to the ER, where I was diagnosed…
