  • @martaindale, I totally understand how nice it can be to have the house to yourself. My hubby is a defense contractor, and even though I miss him when he goes on trips, it is nice sometimes to just do whatever I want and have some quiet. I used to listen to music on all runs, but lately I only really listen during speed…
  • The storms cleared out this afternoon, and I got home early from work, so I got out to do some speedwork. I’ve been trying to incorporate one day per week of either hills or speed. Today was cadence repeats. I also ordered new shoes today. I was originally going to order the Brooks Launch 8, which I have worn for a couple…
  • I knew it was going to storm tonight, so I managed to walk on my lunch break, and then I did strength training when I got home.
  • @Teresa502 I love your pictures! I told my hubby that sometime we should head back up that way to hike. We haven’t been in quite awhile. I convinced my hubby to go to a local trail with me today. He walked while I ran a little ahead, then would turn and run back til I got to him, then I’d go ahead again. 3.63 miles. March…
  • Yesterday was a 5K and 10K put on my a local community service organization. The first-time race director is a member of my women’s running group, and while she overall did a great job, there were a few hiccups at the start with the road closure and timing. They got it sorted, and we started only a few minutes late. The…
  • @rheddmobile, That would scare me so much if that happened to my eye! I’m terrified of something happening to my eyes. I’m glad it isn’t anything too serious. I also hope the little raccoon can get himself clean and go back to his brothers for safety. Good job easing back in, @emmamcgarity. Awesome job on your 13 miles…
  • @Teresa502 I’m sorry about your fall! @quilteryoyo That stinks about the diuretic. I’m hoping you can get your BP under control so you don’t have to do that. It has been a really busy week at work, so tonight was my first run for March. I didn’t get out to run until almost 8:30pm, but I figure that a short, late run is…
  • I’m in for 75 miles for March. @Avidkeo, I can’t wait to hear about your mountain climb!
  • @Tramboman Happy Birthday! We’ll be sad to see you go! Awesome job on your PR @eleanorhawkins! Great job @martaindale! I think the Disney races look like so much fun! My stomach felt better today, so I did a short run while my husband grilled dinner. The weather should be really nice all week for running. Feb miles: 52.71…
  • Well, my run streak lasted 56 days, but I had an awful stomachache yesterday and ended up going to bed as soon as we got home last night. It was so weird, felt like a bowling ball sitting in my stomach, and I was so nauseous. No way I could have run. Oh well. Maybe my body was telling me to go ahead and start my planned…
  • @katharmonic, I hope you can get the rest you need. We all need a break sometimes. @rheddmobile, that’s a lot of rain! No run this morning. I am still sore from golf and slept poorly last night, so I figure I might want a nice shakeout run tonight after our long car ride home. Hubby and I have decided we have both been…
  • Another pretty run at our friends’ home before heading back to my in-law’s house. I saw two Sandhill Cranes with babies this morning. My back is a bit sore today. We went to TopGolf last night, and I used some muscles I must not use often. We had a blast though.
  • @polskagirl01, I hope your friends in Ukraine stay safe. I ran the same route as yesterday, but twice. Hubby’s friend did not join me due to some construction to oversee at their house. I started late because I wasn’t sure if he was going to join or not, and it was HOT. There were a few shady spots though, such as the…
  • We’re staying with hubby’s friends for a couple of days while in Florida, so the husband of the couple wanted to run today as well. I was moving a little faster than our planned 10:00 pace (I averaged about 9:40), so he asked to stop after 1.3 miles. I rarely run with others, so I need to pay better attention tomorrow.…
  • @martaindale and @polskagirl01, I love both of your pictures! @quilteryoyo, that sounds like a great race! @emmamcgarity, you’re doing a great job!
  • Agreed. My husband keeps telling me that he wants me to run with a gun. My stomach isn’t feeling great this morning, so I only ran one mile to keep my streak going. I think I have been eating heavier on vacation than I normally do, and that is making me feel bleh. We’re supposed to have dinner with friends at a nice…
  • Oh no, @shanaber! I’m sorry for your fall, but I’m glad you weren’t hurt worse. @rheddmobile, Good job on your 200lb deadlift! I hope you can get your med dose figured out soon. Beautiful pictures, @polskagirl01! Hubby and I drove down to Clearwater on Saturday. My in-laws unfortunately don’t live close to the beach, and…
  • I hit day 50 of my streak today. We’re going to Clearwater, FL to visit hubby’s parents, but I got up and did 1.5 miles before taking the dogs to the kennel and heading to Florida. It was 32F, but it didn’t feel too bad. I’m happy that I’ll have some warmer weather for running for the next week. February miles: 39.31
  • @rheddmobile, I’m glad the smaller dose worked better for you! I had the rare opportunity to get in a weekday morning run since I have to take my dog to the vet this morning. 55F and overcast, so it was pretty comfortable. I got in two miles before getting. February miles: 37.71 48 day streak
  • @emmamcgarity, Welcome back! @quilteryoyo, I’m sorry you are in a running rut. I think we’re all there at times. You’ve got some great positive thinking though. I’ve had a few short runs the last few days, and last night’s was scrappy for sure. The weather was nice and warm today though, so I ran while hubby walked.…
  • Looks like a lot of fun @Teresa502! My husband and I have done small parts in GA, TN, and NC. We have talked before about doing the whole thing at some point, Hubby went with me to a local park to walk while I ran. A new trail recently opened at the park, so today was my first day trying it out. I ran a leisurely 5K and…
  • I haven’t been on the forum much this week, but I have tried to catch up today. @shanaber, your photos of Zion are beautiful! @Avidkeo, nice new shoes! @rheddmobile, I’m glad you were able to figure that less of the beta blocker would be better. Hopefully, it won’t impact weight or running too much. @polskagirl01, amazing…
  • I’ve been skimming this week but haven’t commented. I hope everyone who had winter storms is going ok now. I hope everyone who has been feeling poorly is feeling better now as well. I had shorter runs every night during the work week, then a 10K yesterday, and 2 miles this morning. It was a busy week at work, and my…
  • I love the addition of the dictionary! I am going to decrease to 60 miles this month because we will be visiting family later this month, and even though I plan to continue my streak, I honestly don’t know what our schedule will be. I also have my 15K mid month.
  • I ran 2 miles last night to wrap up January with 75.07 miles and a 31 day streak!
  • @kgirlhart I Hope you feel better soon!
  • It is a beautiful, sunny day here, so I ran an easy 10K. It was 28F when I started and almost 48F an hour later. I didn’t expect it to warm up so quickly, so the last bit of my run was a little hot. Less than 2 miles left to hit my 75 miles for January, so I’ll run that tomorrow. January miles: 73.07 Streak days: 30
  • @ContraryMaryMary - beautiful cake! @kgirlhart - hope you don’t have Covid. Sorry for the loss of your uncle. @martaindale - Great job on your run! @shanaber - I hope Hobbes is feeling better! Thanks for the hot chocolate @polskagirl01! Nice to see you @Avidkeo! I’ve been a little busier with work and spending time with…
  • @Teresa502 That was very nice of you to wait for the woman. @Faebert Glad your test was negative. Hope you feel better soon. I’ve been in a leadership training this week and have gotten home late, so I’ve had two short runs this week. I’m thinking of signing up for a 15K in mid-February… January miles: 61.41 Streak days: 25
  • @polskagirl01 That looks insane! I can just see myself tripping and sliding alllllll the way down. @Tramboman Brrr! Those are some cold temps! I ran 3 miles this morning. It was 34F, but it felt nice because the sun was out. I then got an aggravating phone call this afternoon and decided to go for an almost 3 mile walk to…
