  • After doing some reading and playing, I figured out they wanted step instead of stride. All the extra playing made me clock in some extra steps in the process (I mean purposely walk to figure it out).
  • 1. Do gentle stretches before getting out of bed. 2. Hop on one leg, stand and balance on one leg or pace while brushing your teeth. 3. Do squats while blowdrying your hair. 4. Do lunges while waiting for the toaster. 5. Dance to some music while vigorously cleaning house. 6. Plant some flowers or do yard work. 7. Chase…
  • I have weighed myself everyday since I was a teen. The only time I stop is if I have moved and I haven't unpacked th scale or if the battery dies or something happens to it and it takes me awhile to replace it. Thus I know I won't be stopping during maintenance. It's a lifelong habit that developed many moons ago.
  • I would imagine (though I'm a brand new fitbit user) that the steps would be off for Zumba. It is based on stride and when we are moving in Zumba, we move all kinds of directions but not necessarily the same as our normal stride length type movement. A HRM would be a better fit during this time. My HRM last week said 533…
  • I didn't mean to double post. I thought I was editing. Oops.
  • I weigh everyday and log it everyday because I enjoy the data. I can see the trends and I'm okay with seeing fluctuations. I even find them fascinating. I just look at my valleys over time to see the downward trend. I also agree with Kristin. My lowest that week may not be on the same day every week. It would look like…

  • Do you count the steps each time the same foot steps down or do you count each time both feet set down. Left, Right (1, 2) Left, Right (3, 4) Left, Right (5, 6) or Left, Right (1) Left, Right (2) Left, Right (3)
  • My husband and I have this argument all the time. I feel it is rude as his passenger for him to gas it. It forces people in the car to lean a bit with their muscles to go with the momentum of the turn. If you control the turn, people in the car don't have to do this.
  • Still in the area or haven't gone there? Wish I could help but I'm in a different area. I was there a few months ago but I couldn't tell you where I ate. :)
  • I didn't order sneakers of any kind, dance or otherwise. I know they won't work for my feet. I worry about what I did buy because there may not be enough support but it was worth a try. Here's what I got: http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Neo-Flex-Jazz-Shoe-S0495L/dp/B004BFEZU6 There wasn't enough reviews on that one to…
  • P.S. Since I'm a daily grapher, you will see my ticker goIng up and down all the time. I'm good with that. I know I'm operating at a 9lb. loss right now even though today it says 7.
  • Friend. I weigh myself everyday and have for years so I pretty much know my body's fluctuations. Add MFP's graph and I just find it fun! I got all thes zig zags and it looks wild but if you look closer, you will see a downward trend and even patterns! As long as my pattern over time is consistently showing me what I want…
  • String cheese
  • I think you potentially just helped me. I have problem feet. I can't wear tennis shoes. They put too much pressure on the sides and top. Loafers with a finger width all around including the top is perfect but they are too clunky and awkward for dance classes. I tried a size too large toe shoes and ended up dancing on…
  • When you are home, make it a habit to log BEFORE you eat.
  • I was out of town at the time! Talk about cosmic timing!
  • Girls just want to vent. Guys generally can listen pretty well if they know they can fix it. If they can't, it is frustrating to them.
  • I love that I can workout at my gym for free. I love that even the classes are free. We don't have personal trainers in the sense that you pay for one and get one-on-one time but there are people around who will show you what to do, give body fat tests, give you a workout log to work from, etc. No one bugs you but if you…
  • A hairdresser I only saw one time discovered mine! She didn't say that is what it wAs but she suggested from the look of my hair that I visit a doctor. My hair was tattling on me thankfully! I had a series of very vague symptoms over the previous few years but I rarely complained about them more than once or twice because…
  • Give yourself a max. For example, I allow myself to have a Nutella toast (if I want one) and two bite size pieces of candy per day (or basically a single serving) OR one regular sized dessert per day. I also switched to dark chocolate for most of my bite size candies at home. This is not my favorite and has helped reduce…
  • HOwever... I do look at nutritional info for everything on my own. Even if I'm logging someone else's homemade grilled cheese, I'm gonna look at my bread, margarine and cheese to see that it is very similar or right on the nose. Granted the rest of it may be off. For most things, I'm gonna enter my own foods directly…
  • Okay, I feel a little bit dumb. Basically I didn't realize "adding a new food" would put something in the database for others. It was suppose to be just for me. The reason being is I don't like the "recipe" section. When I put in a recipe, I'm putting in all the ingredients and having to go down the list and put in the…
  • That's really the best way to know you've lost weight. It beats the scale any day! Congrats! Keep going!
  • Someone on here said something like... If you quit, you've definitely failed. So basically you need to pull yourself up and get back on. If you don't, then you've lost. Until then, it's just a setback.
  • Delete. I had the wrong airport.
  • I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail. I'm also waiting for my HRM. They are two very different products.
  • Some things will list the food and serving (Avocado, 1 whole) in the title. When you put in the serving, it lists that slightly below but it doesn't change the title so it looks like you are still logging a whole one when you really aren't. The numbers have, however, effectively changed. The next time it happens, try…
  • In the beginning, your numbers probably will be higher than they should and you will probably be not so good at the accuracy part. This is normal. There is a learning curve. What is important is using the data you entered to analyze what you are doing and learning how to make changes accordingly. Look at it as data…
  • Someone pointed me to this website a few weeks ago and already I've tried several recipes and all of them were great! My favorite so far was the Pork Carnitas! I'm trying one of her desserts this week.
